mamissimo, oh the agony of knowing but not knowing, hope you've already had, or do have soon, some happy news to share.

Full on day with the youngest gd, she’s never stayed on her own before (big sister was at a birthday sleepover) so we had a few tears as we got towards bedtime. Thankfully it all calmed down and by the time she face-timed her mum who is away from home for work, she’d cheered up a bit...phew! Hopefully with her big sister joining us at lunch time tomorrow, we will have no more tears.

Sorry you've been disappointed panache, hopefully folk will see the true value of your property and more realistic offers will follow.

What kind friends you have soop, hope you get your head around the fancy phone. Mine has that fingerprint thing but i tend to stick to using a pin number as i can never remember what finger i used to set it up!

kitty that girlie of yours is so gorgeous, even in the midst of the gappy teeth stage! Now blackberry picking, theres an idea for tomorrow, greyduster. We’ve done cupcakes today and no doubt will have to bake again on Thursday when big sister is with us... I could do with a day off tomorrow.

Hello the kitchen. Gosh what a lot going on. I am having five minutes peace and quiet before I am assailed by persons various wanting breakfast! GS’s phone alarm went off this morning at some ridiculous hour and now he has gone back to sleep but I could not!

Panache that’s an awful blow. We had a couple of ridiculous offers when we sold ours - people just try it on. Don’t have any of it!

Anno that’s an awful shame! We tend to underestimate the damage that water can do, and flood water is horrible. Hope the insurance company come up trumps.

We were hampered yesterday by having to wait in for the carpet fitter so didn’t get out to take advantage of the weather, though we did get the plum tree pruned (no plums on it this year; hope pruning might help) and GS had an hour playing football with DH down at the playground. Then we made chicken pie (we’ll gloss over that!). Today he is only supposed to be here for half a day but with the weather being so dreary I think I might take him to the cinema. I fancy Lion King. He fancies Angry Birds, so I expect Angry Birds it will be?! It’s based on a very stupid game - I can’t imagine how they can make a movie out of it, but, hey, what do I know! It’s raining; we’re desperate!

Hi all back from “my hols”
It was a mixed bag really, I had a bit of a panic attack when my D met me at Euston, I knew I wouldn’t cope on the tube so we had a taxi to Victoria, only thing was, I panicked when I saw how far it was to walk to the taxi rank, my legs wouldn’t go, we made it eventually and I recovered in the taxi.
It rained part of each day I was there but we managed to get out each day, two garden centres, a bit of retail therapy, a meal out one evening, one pub lunch ,in a beautiful spot by a river, weeping willows, the lot, but it rained and we had the dog so ate under a shelter, not my idea of a nice lunch out.

Yesterday my D took me up to London and again across by taxi to Euston.
The parking, train tickets and taxi cost £64.

Today my S took me to Sainsbury’s to replenish the fridge and cupboards and I’m sorry to say I had a meltdown at the till.
The tears flowed, I couldn’t pack the bags, fortunately my S came to see where I was and he took over.
I am not coping as well as I thought I was.

So sorry for those of you with probs, family, health, house selling and now floods!!
I have been through most of those but not the flood, condolences anno.
It has rained all day here.

I hope all is well with mamissimo and her D.

Dear you lovely lot, I am seething with frustration.

I returned home from ironing duty and blow me down, the computer would not co-operate. Went away to pack a bag for trip to meet up with son number three, did another load of my own ironing, watered the plants, blah blah and just ten minutes ago, MacSporran told me that the computer was okay.

I left what I was doing. Responded to most of your messages and...without a by your leave, the messages vanished from the screen.

I was hoping for news from Mamissimo. I was sorry to hear that Doodle has family problems and that anno has been dealing with flooding.

I was also saying to Ann that we are not familiar with city prices. However, we are about to spend a bob or two in Glasgow. We have a date with son number three. We know from experience, it will cost. But, it will be well worth it.

granniequeenie Dare I say that the new fangled phone scares me! I shall not be tucking my aged Nokia in a drawer. It sends and receives messages. Job done! I like simple, straightforward stuff. I am most def "last century".

We shall be meeting with Baggs during our return home journey. I shall update you once we are back in the normal routine. In the meantime, take care of each other. TOYA.

So sorry to hear about your friend Soop, but he certainly picked a pretty area to live in. Commiserations regarding all your buggerations. I`ve just bought a new phone because the old one gave up the ghost, but did I have a job and a half finding one very much like the old one, my daughter and the salesmen thought I was very odd not wanting an all singing, all dancing phone that looked like a small TV set, just a phone to make and receive calls when necessary, although it`ll spend most of it`s life in the cupboard like the old one! I hope you have a splendid time with your son.

Panache, what a disappointment and a let down, but if they really want your house they`ll come back with a better offer, fingers crossed. I`ve never known anyone get their asking price, but it`s reasonable to expect something near to it.
Ann, good to see you back, I can easily believe those fares in London. My daughter and I paid out over £60 in one day on taxis, travelling between Kings Cross, the London Eye and the Albert Hall. It`s scary watching the amount creeping up on the meter!
It`s pouring down here, looking on the CCTV I`m so glad I`m not going out, the passage down the side of the house is like a river!

Our kitchen is never long without someone needing some TLC and my heart goes out to you Mamissimo,hope the wait will not be too long with mum and babe well at the end,you too Doodle always so sympathetic to others and now sadly it seems you have your own issues to deal with.Hopefully just a matter of time will bring uplifting news.
As for you Ann again most understandable and the tears will flow when that certain moment hits home.......always unexpectedly of course.But we know you too well and by now you will be smiling yet again!
Dear Soop indeed a very sad story that brings home to us how each and every day is extremely precious,a great character indeed, someone whom will certainly not be forgotten by you.
Again so many suffering by these floods and the freak weather,whilst I am almost ashamed to add we are still virtually without rain,the weather pattern has being very strange this year.

So our viewings continue and quite frankly we are losing the plot,the person whom made a really low offer has booked another viewing so that made two viewings today,another 2 booked for friday, but one has since cancelled (yes the one that made the low offer!!)................and we have just had another viewing confirmed for monday!

Whether the aftermath of the extremely tough 9 months with all it has entailed, or simply all this added stress about the house sale falling through with all this added hassle,but I am feeling distinctly unwell,this has been going on since sunday and means I am totally unable to eat,and truly struggling.
However another leg dressing tomorrow so I shall have to show willing.......the last thing I feel like.......whilst I honestly cannot afford being sick, when my dear one depends entirely upon me.
Life is very much a roller coaster.

By the way Soop you have my every sympathy trying to mastermind one of these new fangled phones!!!! My man simply needed to update his .......another 15 year old affair!!!..........and it really takes some working out!!

Evening All, In a tearing hurry as usual, one day life will settle down, just not yet.

Spending a lot of time on the phone supporting our friend's daughter, her Mum's recovery from a brain bleed is understandably slow and as these things do is coming with its own issues. Her worry isn't lessening. We're surrogate parents so keep plenty of time for her. Family worries are a weight, doodle, please take care of yourself as much as you can.

Hope the holidaying family haven't drowned kitty. Foul here which makes me sad for the families here, not much fun to be had especially for those under canvas.

The right buyer will be there panache, I'm sure of it. It's totally understandable the events of the last months are catching up, be kind to yourself.

Oh dear, the mysteries of phones soop. I was given a phone by one of ours. It sat in a drawer for 9 months, sort of gestating, when I finally realised how cross he was that I hadn't used it the birth happened and would you believe it wasn't anywhere near as complex as I had feared. Maybe if you take it with you to Glasgow your son can sort it for you. I'm sorry there was more sad news for you, hard to absorb sometimes.

I'm also wondering, mamissimo, hope to hear from you soon.

We were in London recently on a coach trip ann, enjoyable though it was I was more than glad we were relatively sheltered from the crowds, simply not used to it now. So many purposeful people and the noise. Many moons ago I went to work every day on a tube train, I'm so grateful I don't have to now. Please go gently, it sounds as if life is just a bit overwhelming at the moment

Chicken pie sounds good greyd, haven't had it for an age, I'm not often successful with gf flour, fine as long as I don't drop the outcome on a toe, so risk the ordinary kind now and again. Tomorrow may be one of those days.

Sleepovers do bring their challenges grannyq but it sounds as if all was well that ended well. We've got two of ours again next week, not currently sure when they are coming and going, could be 1 day or 3. I like certainty but this summer am having to be what the girls call fluid - hmm, not so sure it suits me.

As soop says, you lot are the best. My problems are usually family related. Not because my family are a problem, they are not, I love them all to bits but life is hard for them sometimes and that causes me worry. They have just lost a dear pet too. If only we could wrap all those we love up in cotton wool ?
ann so sorry you had some upset but at least help was on hand from your son. You are bound to have such times but I commend your courage in trying to get on with things. Take care.

Anne next door has finally been persuaded by her daughters to go into a care home for terminal care. I suspect it’ll only be for a few weeks at the most.
I’m going to try to go round tomorrow to say goodbye.
It’s going to be difficult after 40+ years.
I’m hoping she’ll know who I am.

Good morning all. Lovely to hear your news Mamissimo. It seems you had a nailbiting time waiting. Panache so sad to hear your trials continue on the property front CH informs me the information you kindly sent him was amazingly useful. With all your trials and tribulations you still have time to help and support others. You are a star and I award you a big medal of the day just for you. Thank you.

My post it notes assure me I excelled myself with Sunday dinner. Chicken with all the trimmings, although CH had to remind me to turn on the oven, and generally hover while trying to be inconspicuous (the latter a big fail ? ) We had orchard plums for afters which seem exceptionally sweet this year. Yesterday I made broad bean hummus with the last of that crop. Forgot the tahini but it still tastes good.

All this talk of phones and difficulties using them is unnerving for me. At present I can still use and retrieve information from mine. Heaven help me when the day dawns I can no longer do that.

Callgirl your London expedition sounded exhausting and I hope you are now rested. And Anno my heartfelt sympathy regarding the water issues. A dreadful scenario. We went past Whaley Bridge yesterday and I note the huge contingent of Canada geese have relocated themselves elsewhere locally.

Ah well, a short walk in order to get used to my latest podiatry presscribed shoe inserts. According to CH (I have a note saying someone was dismayed to see he was now Mr I and not CH, but I cant remember the details and my post it note omits the information.) However he alternates between curent husband in real life and Mr I on here. Anyway, apparently I sound like a herd of elephant with the inserts. I only wish I had the memory of one! No matter.
