Have just taken these pictures of my garden.

The tall “pink plant” I have no idea what it is called, I planted it about 10 years ago and until 3 summers ago it only had leaves. Mr.Gravy and I were sitting outside one evening and I asked him to dig it out at the weekend as it was never going to flower, 3 days later the flowers appeared and it has flowered ever since???

Lins1066 Thu 01-Aug-19 15:15:47

Lovely garden GrannyGravy13, I don't know what the flower is but I've got one too.
Gosh the cricket is amazing, Australia eight wickets down.

soop Thu 01-Aug-19 15:25:30

Lovely flower, GrannyG. It appears to be a member of the lily family.

We've been dead heading scores of tall, white daisies. I'm not sure whether or not I chose to use the blunter of the shears. hmm MacSporran snipped away at a rate of knots. I merely plodded along.

The cricket score sounds too good to be true. Wow!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 01-Aug-19 15:27:42

Yes I just have to msg my Aussie best friend ???

Synonymous Thu 01-Aug-19 16:23:56

Grannygravy I can just hear my mother saying,"Now girls, play nicely and be kind" grin

Love, (((hugs))) and my continuing prayers Morethan flowers

Anneliese I do hope you get the basic help needed for your DH. It is sad that there are no specialists in common sense and basic care nowadays as GPs don't seem to have the time or funds to manage to do what needs to be done for the 'whole person'.
When Himself had so many injuries everything was prioritised in order of seriousness and some things were missed completely. His poor nose ran for two whole years before anybody even looked at it in spite of requests. It was an air bag injury and "as plain as the nose on his face" you mignt say but nobody had the time. It was sore and an embarassment and difficult to eat with a runny nose. hmm

soop Thu 01-Aug-19 16:47:42

Love and (((hugs))) a plenty to you all.

Back with you after care home visit in the morning. smile moon

Whilst so enjoying your garden pictures and the hilarity that is so often found in our kitchen,it was a bitter blow hearing the message sent by Morethan, knowing something of the background story, of course our hearts reach out to her and each member in her family, very well aware that it will be devastating news for all, the younger members especially.
Sending loving thoughts and big hugs to you all.

Anneliese totally understanding where you come from regarding your dear one`s other problems besides his main diagnoses,I feel these Medics sometimes have cloth ears and just make no effort to make life easier even if the overall diagnoses is not exactly a good one.
I think one must always continue with the fight, eventually someone will listen and it will make such a difference for your dear husband..........the mere fact someone listens and reaches out a helping hand is most uplifting.
My man has now been seen at the Lymphoedema Clinic, lots of explaining, testing, measuring and yes, now fitted up with special socks............... having had them myself previously, the next big worry is actually getting them on and into place! You certainly had me laughing at your various suggestions, whilst it seems these ordered socks are of a special kind...........unlike the ones I had via the Surgery.
All I can say is..........time will tell and I shall report back..........IF I live to tell the tale!!
Actually my leg wound is giving concern again, so I am off to have another Doppler test, followed probably by similar compression socks!!!
We certainly know how to live!

Good for you with your campaign Soop and I wish you well.

Whilst I envy you with such rainfall, following only 2 very small showers one night we are back into very hot sunshine.
This does not bode well for yet another Garage sale this saturday!
Also heard one item did not sell at Auction........a beautiful Ercol "Golden dawn" T.V cabinet..............of course no one wants to hide away their big and extra big tellies nowadays!
So another item for charity.

The bathroom is now groaning with all the added bits and it is a completed room we proudly can say.

Time to wish you all a very pleasant evening, sadly not into cricket or the like, but please enjoy to your heart`s desire.
Love and blessings to all with an extra portion being sent to you MorethanXX

So sad for morethan, who is such a wonderful stalwart support for her DiL and the children, I send comforting vibes to all of them.

angelic Thu 01-Aug-19 17:32:37

Like Nannyfaraway, I am gradually getting to know you all in the Kitchen.
So very sorry to read such sad news about morethan’s dear Daughter-in-law, my thoughts and prayers are with all the family, especially the Children.

Thinking and praying for morethan and her family. Such sad news

kittylester Thu 01-Aug-19 18:00:47

Just popped in for a catch up and was so sad to see morethan's news. Such a difficult time after all the other difficult times. Its heartbreaking. gd please tell her how much love is coming her way from the kitchen.

Anneliese, please continue to make a fuss - your 'gut' is likely to be right. We tell Carers on the course I help run that not everything can be laid at the door of the primary diagnosis.

panache, good luck with the stockings.

n&g, I'm not nosey either!! grin

TOYA -back later.

callgirl1 Thu 01-Aug-19 18:41:19

Such sad news from Morethan, regarding her lovely daughter-in-law, my heart goes out to them all.
N&G, I totally get you, this morning, when we got up, there were police next door, it`s a house of multiple occupation, and I`m DYING to know why they were there!

cornergran Thu 01-Aug-19 19:47:50

I’m so sad for you all morethan, sending love. Thank you for passing on the news greyd.

Good news about about the house opposite n&g. As I tell my lot regularly, I’m not nosey, just interested smile.

Bit weary this evening so feet up time.

TOYA.

Sad news from*morethan*, sending loving wishes for comfort. Life can be so cruel.

Also thinking of all those who are affected by the flooding. Down here, we're crying out for rain---if only it could be spread around a bit more evenly!

Have made chocolate brownies with fudge icing (Delia's recipe ), so there's a plateful on the kitchen worktop. Absolutely no calories---promise.

Cherrytree59 Thu 01-Aug-19 21:20:34

Wishing Morethan strength to support her lovely family through this awful time.
My thoughts and prayers xxxx

Good morning all on what would have been our 61st wedding anniversary.
I was very upset and tearful all day yesterday anticipating it.
Now it is here I don't know how I feel, another first to deal with, my birthday and now this.
Maw and others will know the feeling but yesterday I spoke to a neighbour whose H has become immobile.
He is 85 ,has all his "marbles" he does has some health issues but up until recently has been fine.
She just can't accept this and tells everyone how difficult her life is, she can still get out and leave him, has a caring family and looks after GGC.
She never asks how I am or how I am coping but yesterdsy came out with a gem.
After "going on" about her situation she suddenly said , life is pretty good for you now isn't it?
While I was still speechless , she added ,after all you dont have R to worry about now.
I just said , of course not and ended the conversation.
You couldn't make it up.
TOYA especially morethan and her family.
I have been very lucky to have had such a long and happy marriage.

Nannytopsy Fri 02-Aug-19 07:57:48

Annsixty you seem to meet more than your share of insensitive people. I hope you are able to think back to some of the good times today. Preparing food to take to a family get together today, so there is a white chocolate cheesecake on the side with raspberry coulis and berries. Enjoy x

cornergran Fri 02-Aug-19 07:58:05

Goodness ann I truly don’t know what to say about your neighbour. A very gentle hug for you, sending love. TOYA.

Carillion01 Fri 02-Aug-19 08:04:16

annsixty sending love and kind thoughts to you today. Xx
???

dragonfly46 Fri 02-Aug-19 08:06:13

Unfortunately ann some people are so insensitive and wrapped up in their own problems. I have come across quite a few recently. Your neighbour sounds very selfish.

You are indeed lucky to have had such a long happy marriage I hope you can concentrate on that today.

aggie Fri 02-Aug-19 08:07:03

Oh Ann what a thing to say to you , she must be a very spoiled lady and not used to caring and maybe overwhelmed by her role .
I have had similar remarks and my face tells them they have been nasty . It is only those who have been through it all know what you are experiencing
Sadly it takes more than a few "firsts" to bring home the emptiness
You were very forbearing not to reply with a cutting explanation
((((((((hugs))))))))

Bellanonna Fri 02-Aug-19 08:17:40

Oh how insensitive, ann!

Charleygirl5 Fri 02-Aug-19 08:53:50

ann where do you find them? A few have been rude to you and probably like me, you can think of a suitable remark 10 minutes later.

I am off to the dentist later this morning and it is not my normal checkup. I know there is something wrong so Ii will say my goodbyes now! Like many others, I really hate it because of experiences in my youth.
TOYA
