My Guilty pleasures....

Chocolate as long as it isn't white which isn't really chocolate at all.
Not that I feel so very guilty really!

I have so much curtain and furnishing fabric I could open a shop! Lots of Laura Ashley particularly. Always been addicted to fabric,must be a faulty gene as no other family member has the slightest interest!

Chocolate. I have to eat a whole block at one go and that’s the big block. Disgusting.

My guilty pleasure is researching and believing in lots of conspiracy theories!

Books from charity shops, me too. You only admit to 300 Diggingdoris , I've lost count but probably at least 1500, on every flat surface in the house including up the stairs!

Watching Lewis and Midsommer Murders even when I've seen them before. I can rarely remember who dunnit till I've watched the same episode a couple of times at least. Which is a blessing, really

Taking myself out for the day without telling anyone - beach for a swim if it’s warm and sunny or shops if it’s not. I have a very busy family home life (think Waltons) and actually nobody really queries it when I disappear for a few hours - they think I am busy doing all their errands I reckon. My goodness I come home refreshed. My guilty pleasure!

Watching American cop shows NCIS, CSINY, SVU et cetera

I think I could probably do the perfect murder and avoid detection. Anyone need a hit Woman?

Sara65 the breaking point for me is that I can no longer find a particular book when I want to. There too many every surface and most of the floors too now.

I haven't got my new kindle up and running yet.
I prefer the real thing but if you saw the way there is really no space anywhere.......

I do sometimes pass on books, mostly fiction but like you I don't want to part with them. I love them.
Everyone who knows me understands but when my family visited recently they said my new living room huge rug was lovely, but shame you can hardly see it for the piles of books.
My lottery winning dream would be to have my own special room/s for my books.

Me too Sara65 nothing better than the heft of a proper book. I volunteer in a small library so pass on all my books and get to read the ones other people have donated.

You're never too old to experience pleasures, you shouldn't feel guilty, just enjoy!

Champagne, our local baker's sausage rolls, buying an extensive and expensive wardrobe and saying to my husband, 'This was very expensive. It cost £20.' Oh yeah.

I cannot do kindle, they have to be real, and I have trouble parting with them, the house is full of books

like Sara65 it's buying books........there is literally no room left anywhere.
I have now invested in a Kindle in the hope of reducing future purchases though nothing feels as good as a physical book.
(I mean as far as reading goes....lots of other things feel good)

My not very guilty pleasures are:

Watching Real Housewives on TV
Sitting on my brand new sun lounger all afternoon with a really trashy book.

When I was widowed several years ago, a very clever friend advised me to take the words “should” and “ought” out of my vocabulary. I did!

Crazy times with those illicit walnut halves and house magazines.

Going on a big slide with my friends 2yr old gs. I said I would take him on it as she was worried he was to small to go on it on his own., it was great fun I took him on it about 10 times.

Oh, and buying vintage yarn on ebay. I have far more than I can ever knit up in my lifetime.

Watching old episodes of The Professionals and Touch of Frost! But I don't feel guilty. Any more than DH does watching his F1, DTM, Indycars, V8 Supercars, etc.

Buying fabrics

Spending at least 2 hrs doing my cross stitching in a morning before getting my shower. Felt better about that when I read that Princess Margaret used to be woken up at 9 am with breakfast and she would spend the next 2 hrs in bed reading the papers. At least I do my cross stitching down stairs.
