Following on from the I have never...... thread, how about things that you either have done and never want to do again, or just don't want to do ever?

I don't intend to...

Fly anywhere ever again
Wear makeup again
Go to a bridal shop with a DD to look for a wedding dress (if they want to get married again in future, they can look for their own dresses!)

I never want to...

Have a tattoo
Watch a zombie film

I will never again
Wear make-up (beyond occasionally lipstick)
Wear high heels
Go to late night parties
Go to a zoo or Sea World type place
Smoke

Never will I;
Go on a roller coaster
Go white water rafting
Own a Irish Wolfhound (I left it too late and realised
I’m now too old)
Go skiing

@SalsaQueen I shall be in Venice 15th September to 3rd October, working on a project and taking part in a symposium. I shall be living in Cannaregio, one of the quieter parts, though the Giudeca is the quietest. If you were to go again, I advise spending at least a few days and avoiding the main drag from San Marco to Rialto like the plague. (I was there at Easter and we didn't go into the centre once)

maryhoffman37 Can I come with you!?

humptydumpty Thu 18-Jul-19 11:03:36

I agree with mary on Venice. If you can get away from the main tourist areas it's magical, it's the a place that I would really like to live in for a few months. I can reccommend San Michele, where people of all sorts of faiths are buried.

humptydumpty Thu 18-Jul-19 11:05:03

Also wrt zombie films, I'm broadly in agreement but would definitely recommend Shaun of the Dead, spoof film and like the best comedies contains tragedy too.

annodomini Thu 18-Jul-19 11:14:24

I'll never again go on a roller-coaster - my idea of hell
I'll never have to mow a lawn again
I'll never attend a Grand Prix meeting. Noisy and smelly
I'll never again try skiing - the only time I did, I came home covered in spectacular bruises because the only way I could stop was by falling over.

Tigertooth Thu 18-Jul-19 11:17:25

I will never again
Sit directly in the sun
Wear uncomfortable shoes
Stay in cheap accommodation

Scribbles Thu 18-Jul-19 11:28:24

Wear lipstick
Smoke cigarettes
Travel on Eurostar (I'd rather fly; that's how bad it was)
Go camping
Ride a bike

camia Thu 18-Jul-19 11:30:06

I did that twice thinking it couldn't be as bad the second time. Then had myself sterilised. :-)

TheMaggiejane1 Thu 18-Jul-19 11:32:15

Never again will I
Get married
Share a bank account - lived together for 18 years now and managed fine without either
Go camping

Never will I
Allow my hair to go grey.

humptydumpty Thu 18-Jul-19 11:32:36

camia ?? childbirth?

Nanaval4G Thu 18-Jul-19 12:07:19

All of the above, and I'm sure more

lefthanded Thu 18-Jul-19 12:07:29

Good grief - you ladies are an unadventurous lot. Life really is too short not to seize every day! Two spells in ICU (one for MCI and the other for pulmonary embolism) have taught me to savour every experience. I’m 68 and I still ride every roller-coaster I can get near. I still go potholing (but admittedly not as often as I used to) and I am planning to skydive as a treat for my 70th birthday. What wouldn’t I do again? Apart from smoking (and I gave that up in 1985) I can’t think of a single thing.

annifrance Thu 18-Jul-19 12:21:27

Yes, Monica, never say never!! I said I would never get married again. Now after 20years we are as it will make life in France easier after brexit.

Llamedos13 Thu 18-Jul-19 12:39:22

Oldand verygrey.....what’s wrong with Edinburgh?

Llamedos13 Thu 18-Jul-19 12:43:06

Oops sorry Oldandgrey, just read the reason why , how awful.

sarahanew Thu 18-Jul-19 14:08:54

I think my days of roller-coaster riding are over, I don't feel the need to put myself through that anymore! And although bungee jumping was on my bucket list, I've revised that. I'm thinking a second tattoo may be an idea though, as I had my first done at aged forty. I'll fly again, but not too far away. Yes, opinions and desired change with age

Shoequeen53 Thu 18-Jul-19 14:23:16

I thoroughly recommend sky diving, I did it to celebrate my 60th and will be doing it again when I’m 70.

Never again will I:

Wear uncomfortable shoes
Work for money
Take recreational drugs
Give birth
Provide childcare
Have penetrative sex

I intend to fly lots and see the vast amount of the world I’ve never seen.

Go up in a cable car with glass sides or
get driven up a mountainside and look down down down for 1,000ft. Both happened in Madeira - tried to overcome it but it did not work and I will never do it again.

Bazza Thu 18-Jul-19 14:48:29

I will never go on another cruise.

Wear high heels.

Eat another olive after spending years trying to like them. Food of the devil.

Sit in a car with a learner driver.

Fly long haul.

And an awful lot more already mentioned.

Tweedle24 Thu 18-Jul-19 15:03:54

Just curious question to those who will never fly again. Is it the actual flying or all that dreadful hassle at the airport?

Sara65 Thu 18-Jul-19 15:09:04

Tweedle

Both!

jenni123 Thu 18-Jul-19 15:43:52

henetha, I agree with your list.

Lumarei Thu 18-Jul-19 16:13:47

I’m the same as Monica and Pantglas ?

Conni7 Thu 18-Jul-19 16:30:11

I think it's pretty certain I won't have another baby!
No more periods - huge relief.
Won't fly, or go abroad again after this year (already booked for France).
Never wanted to bungee jump, parachute or go to India.
Will never work for anyone else again.
