That chap, behind and to the left of the one in the green jacket.

If he coughs and those shirt buttons can't take the strain, he'll have someone's eye out.

And is Mrs Federer wearing her nightie, or gone into Stepford Wives mode?

Whitewavemark2 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:02:14

Depressed☹️

Whitewavemark2 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:04:39

What time does Poldark start?

merlotgran Sun 14-Jul-19 19:07:57

We're on our second bottle, and Mr P isn't even interested in tennis shock

annep1 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:08:59

Phoenix ??

Whitewavemark2 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:09:11

Well done!! Good game. Sad about Fed though.

annep1 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:11:36

I know they both played brilliantly but still I'm sad for Roger. Thanks for the thread. Nice to have GN to share the excitement with.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:13:52

Yeh to Fed???????

Whitewavemark2 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:14:31

nanaK54 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:21:23

Great match!

MiniMoon Sun 14-Jul-19 19:23:22

Phew, I wonder if they're glad it's over. I feel sorry for Roger, but Novak played the tie breaks so well. ???

Grammaretto Sun 14-Jul-19 19:23:25

What's for supper?
I was rooting for Roger
?

Just spotted Lilypot's comment. Not just me then.

Pantglas1 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:25:48

My bum is numb after five hours! So wanted Federer to win but thought younger man would prevail in the end - we’ll done Roger, you gave him a run for his money!

merlotgran Sun 14-Jul-19 19:28:12

Oh flip! I forgot all about The Archers.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:29:57

I’m watching Poirot until 9

annep1 Sun 14-Jul-19 19:30:37

Anniebach Mrs F appeared to be biting her nails. I need a walk now in the fresh air. Enjoy your evening ladies.

merlotgran Sun 14-Jul-19 19:36:59

We changed channels just in time to see England win the cricket world cup thanks to a brilliant bit of fielding preventing New Zealand from getting the third run.

Even more nail biting than the tennis.

Pittcity Sun 14-Jul-19 20:12:26

I watched the tennis on TV and the cricket on my phone. Both down to the wire. DH cooked roast chicken and I balanced it on my knee to eat.
DH is happy that they didn't cancel Country file.

I always think that Federer's wife looks grumpy and miserable. It is a shame that he lost, but he goes home with a cool £175 million - I could live with failure if that was the reward. smile

LullyDully Sun 14-Jul-19 20:28:39

We went back and forward watching cricket and tennis then the Archers on catch up. Phew.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 14-Jul-19 20:33:55

lucky no? that’s not fair. She has a lovely face, and certainly looks strained at times as she supports her husband. I don’t think I could stand the stress.

GabriellaG54 Sun 14-Jul-19 21:18:01

Luckygirl

£175m?
I think you'll find it's £1.75m

I remarked to OH as we watched the finals that the line judges/officials standing behind the players were bothering me.

Maybe it was just me and I was having an OCD moment, but... as the players have to wear white when they play at Wimbledon (rightly so, imo. I am not a fan of the garish garb worn for cricket or tennis elsewhere) WHY on earth was the uniform SO at odds with the players' whites?

They were wearing blue shirts tucked into CREAM trousers!!!!

Why not white? Their trews looked positively mucky when shown next to Roger's pristine white shorts and socks! I muttered something about bad laundry techniques to OH but he didn't seem as concerned.

I need to have a word with the organisers.
