I'm a night person too, most likely to start doing something when I really should be going to bed, usually after much procrastination (see other thread smile).
It's really unusual for me to be up this early (just didn't seem to sleep last night) but I do like to see the early morning.

craftyone that is exactly my cycle. Really everything useful has to be accomplished by lunch, I even aim to prepare the evening meal by then as well, because by 5pm I’m practically comatose

Like Ginny, I often wake up with a solution to a problem, sleeping on it works for me. Awake by 5.30 every morning and energetic from 7 to 1, then the slump, either a doze or something relaxing like reading or just tidying a drawer but nothing energetic. Bed at 10 to listen to something for 30 minutes with an auto switch off and the cycle starts again. I know my circadian cycle

I feel cross if I sleep later than around 5.30 and I've often only gone to sleep around midnight. The ideas flow best when I first awaken. Often I wake up with a solution to something I'd been puzzling over. However, paddyann I could not have done what you accomplished last night! . Just the sheer physical effort! You should take care!

Bradfordlass what is a trivia event?

silverlining I am now just like you.
I always was a Lark.

However, when I was at college I used to be able to work right through the night on my axonometric and isometric drawings and found I did some of my best work when everyone but me was in bed and the house was silent.

After I got home from my studies, I'd make tea, look after the children from school and see to all the attendant domestic works, go to my cleaning job at night and still pop up fresh to make breakfast at 6 the next morning.

Now, thank goodness, it's only me and if I have a lie-in (and I have to be very, very tired to do so) it's until 7am. After that, I'm itching to get up and get going.

On Friday, I am being collected at 3:30 am (not an unusual occurrence) to take part in a Dawn Blessing, this time for Matariki.

I was supposed to be taking part in a fundraising Trivia evening on Thursday and wouldn't be home until midnight, so was beginning to think it would be pointless going to bed. But the woman who said she'd take me, has just given backword. sad I'm quite disappointed as I love trivia but kei te pai, thems the breaks.

Always. Last night I had insomnia, so overnight I did all the washing and hung it out, baked a banana cake, unloaded the dishwasher and cleaned the bathroom. Normal for me at night !

I woke at 4 this morning, usually I get a ‘ lie in‘ til at least 5.
Wish I coukd sleep through til 6, but that never happens. Therefore I am yawning at 9 pm and in my bed by 10.30 latest, so not a night owl.
Any advice anyone? Or are you all, except blue belle, still asleep? Zzzzz

No, I am the other end of the spectrum, awake at stupid o’clock most mornings. Everything I get done early is constrained only by noise level. No furniture moving but the cats have a very early breakfast.

Its ten to one and I've just sat down.I spent the last three hours helping my OH to move furniture from his office downstairs to his "new" office upstairs .Thats several cabinets and filing cabinets two desks ,a safe ,computers and all the "stuff that was in the drawers and cupboards .THEN I tidied the kitchen cleaned the cats litter trays put on a washing and changed the curtains in my GD's bedroom.I wouldn't get half as much done in the day because of phone interuptions or my AC calling in for a blether and of course work although its just part time now.
A hot drink and a look at the laptop where there are messages from clients looking for prints asap .I considered looking out the files ....if I leave it until the morning I may get caught up in the madness of Wednesday which is always the busiest day for phone calls .Anyone else find nightime the best time to get things done ?
