Weather is gorgous and our new flat is coming on a treat,beautifully decorated and carpeted with blinds fitted tomorrow.
Kitchen equipment arriving on monday..............so all going according to plan.

However this week is being unbelievable .......seeing our home completely void of our personality...........not a pleasant sight.

There is going to be a mammoth amount to move out with our own move on Friday next (if all goes well)then on the Wednesday my dear man has to visit his Consultant some 60 miles away,the following week the remaining furniture is off to the Auction House (to be given away!!) and fingers crossed on the Saturday ...........I have pencilled in a Garage sale .
In fact the Garage is looking more and more like an emporium of delight!

Feeling the weight of all this planning and hard work and am just hoping with all my heart we are eventiually able to settle down and enjoy the fruits of this big move.
It has been a lot tpo take on with such a sick husband yet he has pushed for it from the start,determined to get me safely settled.
However I now want and hope for some quality time together............without dust in my hair and all around me packed into boxes!

Having our property unsold is of course a massive worry and a big headache.
But taking things the best way we can I am behginning to see that WE MIGHT EVEN get moved after all!!!!!

My mum was the most brilliant seamstress and made my dress, veil and headdress. Not quite sure what DH was doing with his hand - he was so very nervous! I’ve still got receipts and my bouquet cost £4.20. We had white freesias in a silver vase on top of our cake, and they cost 20p! Happy days!

Panache Us lot are in awe of your tenacity. Your lovely husband is a treasure beyond measure. Your new home sounds delightful. It will be a cause for celebration when you finally move in and begin the next phase of your shared lives.

Anneliese You look like a film star and your dress is stunning. Your dear husband is quite rightly looking awestruck. Thank you to all of you for sharing your treasured photos.

We visited the care home to discover that our pal was not fully dressed and shaved. We therefore did the Tesco shop and returned later. His wheel chair was squashed between a sofa and a wall, with no place for either of us to sit. I was terrified of standing on the toes of a nearby gentleman as I gingerly stepped over his feet.
A few moments ago, I stubbed my toe on the wooden step in our home. Did I yelp? Yay! I also said a very rude, unlady-like word.

Andy and Feliciano are to play another doubles match later. I am hoping that they have the energy to play as well as they did yesterday.

The sun is shining brightly. MacSporran is cutting the grass. I have my own ironing to do and a cat to wait on. Broadie has already called for a bowl full of delicious food. We anticipate that he'll return again during the evening. He managed at least three mealtimes yesterday. I guess that you could say we are a soft touch...or something like.

Although I haven't yet caught up fully with all the recent postings, I am slowly but surely trying my best to do so. In the meantime, until tomorrow's visit...

I love looking at wedding pics, you all look lovely, unlike me, registry office and a 2 piece rather than a gorgeous wedding dress. I`ll post a pic if I can find it, the 2v piece was lemon with white accessories. After he`d married us, the registrar leaned over the desk to shake hands, and said "Congratulations, that will be 7s 6d please." Very romantic, NOT!
Panache, wonderful to hear that your moving preparations are going so well, now looking forward to hearing that you are settled in nicely.

I must have had the camera at a funny angle when I photographed the pic in it`s frame, we both look so short, I am, but he wasn`t, and my hair doesn`t look so stood out in the original photo. Never mind.

I'm enjoying the photos. Good to her from you panache, you two are tenacious, only another week by the sound of it. Seeing your home empty is a difficult thing but try to think of an easier future for you both with some time to relax without worry. When we downsized all our furniture was too big except for white goods, a desk, one wardrobe and the beds so we began again, our furniture was mostly donated to the BHF. It was seriously odd to begin with, coming home felt like it didn't belong to us, a strange building and new furniture. Once we acquired a mark and dent or two then it was ours! . Chin up, your new home will soon feel like home and life will be less difficult. I'm so pleased it happening for you.

Dear Panache! I spent so long pithering around with my photograph that I totally missed your post! It’s heartening to know that things are finally falling into place, even though you are not yet at the end of what has been a long and very difficult journey.

Welcome Carillion and bordersgirl. Hope I’ve not missed any other new kitcheners! I don’t post often but have had such support when I’ve needed it.

It’s lovely to have had some warm sun today. If only it would last!

All these lovely wedding photos! I got married in a cream two piece, with a bouquet of freesias and no hat. I baulked at a formal wedding - I would probably have gone AWOL if I had had to walk down an aisle! I think DH was rather disappointed because he wanted to wear his blues, the same as N&G’s DH, but he would have put me seriously in the shade at a register office, which would never have done! Like Callgirl, we got the “Congratulations - 7s 6p please” too! He has said many times that I was “cheap at the price”?!
Panache I’m glad things seem to be moving forward apace! It’s hard to leave a house you have known and loved for so long. I felt the wrench when we moved too, but now I know it is the best move we ever made and it will be the same for you and your dear husband.
We had a day at the seaside today; very good fish and chips, nice if rather cool weather and a walk on a lovely beach. We found some fossils for GS’s collection, and a couple of pieces of sea glass for mine! But it’s not the same when there is no small boy in tow who likes crazy golf and rock pooling and beach cricket. We shall return in the school holidays! Photo attached. TOYA.

Hello lovely kitcheners! Soop’s place is always a delight as it’s cosy and comforting.

I don’t post as often as I’d like because when we are over at our little place in Malaga, we don’t have broadband there, just access the local WiFi on a monthly tab. It’s doable but can be intermittent!

Anyway we are back home now in South Manchester for 5 weeks so I hope to pop in here more frequently.

Here is a wedding photo. I’m just 20y + one week. It was in 1974. This one was with my lovely dad. Sadly he died 3y after this photo was taken, at the age of 47y. He was such a lovely man.

Panache, the new flat sounds wonderful. How lovely to have everything ready for you when you move in. But what a chore it is to have to sort out everything in your home before you can move. I can imagine that you will miss what has been your home for many years, but sure there will be many compensations in terms of convenience and comfort. I hope things will go well when your DH sees his consultant. You both deserve some good news on that front.

Back again from visiting family. I have been well looked after and fed and watered. Perhaps the roles are reversing a little.
I love my free bus pass; it means I don’t have to think twice about going to help, or visit for birthdays.
I can’t believe how much there is to catch up on in the kitchen. Welcome to the three new GNs venall, bordersgirl57 and carillion.
Mytablet is not up to posting a wedding photo thank goodness but I don’t want to be outed anyway. Mind you I might not be recognisable given that I have put on weight, shrunk in height and my hair is dramatically different. I still feel the same inside though.

As you can all see, I am not sleeping! “stuff” on my mind. I will leave home made Danish pastries on the side for breakfast. Warm them in the oven - much nicer.

Morning Feeling and Bordersgirl! I was hopping around the bedroom at 4 with cramp then had the most complicated and horrible dream - I woke up absolutely shattered!
Granddog going home today, early because they came home from holiday a week early. No doubt she will be back! The cat will be relieved in every sense - the cat tray is still pristine and he has run the gauntlet of the dog to go outside when necessary. Poor chap!
