Thank you so much for all the kind messages, you lot are very much appreciated! I am over the worst now and have made Himself think a bit more when I asked him to think how he would manage everything without me. At least he paused for more than two seconds before saying he would need another wife! I think that means he does value me anyway! I am very thankful for all his positivity and determination to get back to doing whatever he can but I have made him promise to think harder first - we shall see how that pans out!
My new "help " came in for a couple of hours this morning and did all kinds of small things in no time at all so I am feeling much more in control. This meant that Himself was able to go out in the garden for a short while and that has done him so much good and made him tired enough to enjoy sitting down - at least I know what he is up to!
We go off up to the 'big smoke' again next week to the prosthetic hospital so that will be most of next week written off. My help will come in again when we get home again and my cleaning fairy will do her stuff while we are away.. Such a blessing.

Yesterday we received an appointment for the second OT home visit for which we have waited over two months. The Practice Nurse did some 'foot stamping' down the phone. Not sure how you do that but glad it had the desired results! Some folk who left hospital after Himself have already had all their adaptations completed which made me feel we had slipped through the net - which we clearly had.
Our own builder popped in this morning and made some brilliant suggestions for ways of changing things in a way we hadn't considered and is putting us in touch with an architect he works with so it feels we are making a smidgeon of progress.

Sorry that this is a bit of a selfish post but is about all I can manage at present. I do send (((hugs))) and to all the birthday girls and everyone who needs them! So glad Panache has completed phase 1 of the big flitting.
Leaving a huge fruit cake on the side to have with your afternoon tea! My help made two for Himself who is very chuffed. Not for me as I can't take wheat. TOYA

My DH is still waiting for the urgent scan our GP booked over a month ago.

dragonfly A month seems way too long to have to wait for an urgent scan. Have you jogged the GP's memory? Ours would be on the case before we stepped out of the consulting room.

Eldest son is 58 today. He is kind and supportive and very funny. All three sons are special. Us Mums are allowed to brag.

Rafa and Roger is the match that I am bound to watch. I thought that it was about to start some time ago. Wrong! I shall do a token dust of the furniture, plump my cushion, make a pot of tea, treat myself to one more wee...and settle down to umpire the eveny. They may be a lot of noise filtering through the walls of our home.

Just in case I am unable to return, I shall remind you that I am TOYA. I shall raise a glass of cheer in celebration of Ann's birthday a wee bit later.

dragonfly, we all want you to bring problems to the kitchen. We did go through a stage when problems seemed to everywhere but it's not ge really like that and it was for problem sharing and support that soop opened the kitchen.

We have got a slew of photos of reports for dgc just arrived on WhatsApp- they will, of course, all be wonderful!

Ah, kitty, now you come to mention it, I can expect the same sort of things in the next week. Glowing reports?

I spent a very pleasant few hours having coffee which extended into lunch with 4 GNs. I arrived home at 4.30pm and the Gods were with me today, or somebody was because my entire line was closed 5 minutes after I sailed through a specific station on the tube. An air ambulance was needed for "a person on the line".

Sorry Bellasnana but I am chuffed to pieces that Roger won. I adore him! Such a gentleman, so elegant, graceful and skilled. No grunting, scratching or sweating (well only in a very refined way!!) Bit concerned about him playing Novak though. I think it might be a bridge too far.

DH is going to the Isle of Wight tomorrow with his bike club so I shall have a full day to myself and intend to enjoy the Ladies singles final on TV. Expect Serena to win that. It's been a good Wimbledon this year, hasn't it?

Goodish day here. Helped a neighbour with a problem and went off to have needles stuck in me. The acupuncture has reduced the swelling in a knee dramatically already, after another five sessions I’ll be skipping along. The physio threatened to refer me for assessment for surgery. I glowered, he said of course my decision. I just don’t think it’s bad enough yet and prefer to keep myself away from surgeons for as long as I can.

Unexpected invite just arrived to a bbq with some family tomorrow. Not people who plan in advance . Nice surprise.

That was lucky charley, not a day to be trapped in a tube train no matter that a person on the line sounds worrying.

Evening everyone.
DD and I enjoyed our day in Wimbledon yesterday. It was unforgettable. We saw both Ladies Semi Finals. The military helpers and the stewards were were so kind and helpful. I also met a lady who lives in the next road to me, who I used to see walking her dog. Such a nice coincidence, we had lovely photos, especially by the Fred Perry statue? DH enjoyed his day visiting historic pubs along the waterfront in London, his favourites were the 'Prospect of Whitby' and ' The Mayflower'.
We are back home now and I am really tired - won't need rocking as my mother used to say. Looking forward to seeing DS and DiL and hearing about their holiday.

I`m back!!
Actually, I got home late Wednesday night, but have been busy hospital visiting and playing TV catch up.
I`ve read the 6 or 7 pages that have accumulated since my last visit, honest! but can`t remember even half of what I`ve read, so please forgive me for not responding as I should. GreyD, I hope your poorly leg is improving, and Soop, so sorry about your latest buggeration.
Ann, may I wish you a very belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and yes, I`m shouting, it`s a long way from here to Stockport, I need Ann to hear me!

My daughter had her operation on Wednesday afternoon, she wasn`t transferred to Derby after all. She`s now in plaster. The doctors have told her that there was more damage than they`d thought, they`ve done their best, but it may never be completely right. But she`s in reasonably good spirits.
As for the Waldorf, it was lovely, so were the staff, but all the little extras aren`t half expensive! A bottle of water with our meal, £5, £4.50 for a cup of coffee, I didn`t want the set menu that was paid for, so I had the rib eye steak from the main menu, paying a supplement of £10 on top of what had already been paid. What I did think very strange was that we couldn`t see out of our windows, they were opaque glass, and I do like to gawp out of the window when in hotels.
The show, Les Miserables, was fantastic, brilliant, wonderful, well worth seeing. In Dawn`s absence my DIL went with me, expecting to hate it, and she loved it!
