I can just recall a comment about hangovers and chasing men. Sounds more like the mens wing!!!

Well my Living Well course has been deferred as only two couples turned up. I felt sorry for those running the course as they had put in a lot of work AND paid for a community hall. Now on the top dose of my medication and I was confidently going to say with no ill effects. However three falls today (all soft landings) makes me question that statement. Interesting that my balance and spatial awareness seem to be the main thing affected so far. Do you need spatial awareness to read music? Perhaps someone can come along and explain that one, as I cannot read it any more. Ah well, at least it has been a beautiful day, the birds have sung their hearts out and the dahliahs are now in resplendent bloom.

Flowers, hugs, sympathy and so on to anyone suffering buggerations and TOYA I always remember that one as thats what we call the car. ?

annsixty Wed 03-Jul-19 20:17:33

Izabella so many flowers sent to you.
My admiration has no end.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Jul-19 20:23:41

Izabella you truly are an inspirational lady ???

Doodle Wed 03-Jul-19 20:41:55

izabella hope you are well padded for your falls ?. Do take care glad you are enjoying your garden.

ann I don’t do PMs but just wanted to say you were very kind to a mutual virtual friend on another thread today (annieb) and got an unkind (or even unpleasant) response from another poster. I think your advice was sound and from the heart and did not deserve such a response.

annsixty Wed 03-Jul-19 20:50:43

I feel really upset by that post.
I thought I was being supportive to someone in distress.
I really will stay in the kitchen in future.
Thank you Doodle for your support.

Bellanonna Wed 03-Jul-19 20:51:10

Izabella. I always enjoy reading your posts. Sorry, though, to hear about the falls.
Doodle I haven’t read the thread you refer to, but there's always someone ready with the acerbic comment, isn’t there? Goodness knows why.

MawBroonsback Wed 03-Jul-19 20:51:37

Echoing what Doodle said - not commenting on another thread, but take no notice smile

Bellanonna Wed 03-Jul-19 20:57:06

Ann your post has just crossed with mine. Sorry you are so upset. I’m sure the person you were supporting will feel equally upset on your behalf
I remember some years ago how kind and helpful you were to a fellow gransnetter, who for whatever reason turned against you. Her loss of a good friend. Don’t take this latest episode to heart.

annsixty Wed 03-Jul-19 21:51:04

I have always puzzled over a saying, no good deed goes unpunished, I never understood it. I am starting to now.
It will not stop me doing what I think is right and helpful.

MawBroonsback Wed 03-Jul-19 22:23:03

Quite right too Annsixty !

mumofmadboys Wed 03-Jul-19 22:29:08

'No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.'
Remember this saying instead Ann!

Marydoll Wed 03-Jul-19 22:43:53

Anne, take no notice!?

gransal Wed 03-Jul-19 23:01:38

Izabella you are amazing. Sorry to hear about your tumbles. Take care. *ANN I read those posts and was very angry on your behalf. Some people seem to have no empathy or understanding of other feelings. Sending kind wishes to annieb.

annodomini Wed 03-Jul-19 23:26:33

ann, just one poster dared to refer to you post as 'silly'. Take comfort from the fact that many more spoke up for you. You were right and she was being far from empathetic. Nuff said!

grannyqueenie Thu 04-Jul-19 00:11:55

I hear there are some needing to lie in a darkened room after anniversary revelling, what are things coming to in here! grin

Ann, take heart, your kindness never goes unnoticed here. .Izabella your posts are always interesting and inspiring, keep on keeping on.

I’ve enjoyed seeing and hearing news of those beautiful new babies, I do miss that stage in our family. No doubt it will come around again, but since oldest gd is not quite 17 I'm hoping not yet awhile - but hopefully while I'm still here/young enough to enjoy it! In the meantime I get plenty of cuddles when I help at the mum and baby group each week.

It was a lovely sunny evening for our towns annual cycle race tonight. Amazingly unlike previous years I managed to get some shots that weren’t just mens lycra clad bottoms disappearing over the hill though some those photos were very “easy on the eye”!

Sleep well kitchen folk. x

I am driven to tears this morning, I have somehow turned a cry for help thread into an unpleasant one.
I have even been critised obliquely by someone to whom I expressed the kindest and most sympathetic thoughts a few weeks ago.
I am lost and bewildered.

NanaandGrampy Thu 04-Jul-19 09:46:01

Morning all !

Its a blue sky start to the day here , although it was briefly fraught as Grampy , out of the blue, made an apt at the local EE store to get us both on the same account so I can have some of his unused data each month. There was much rushing about and cursing until I realised it was tomorrows date not todays! Doh!

Don't upset yourself Ann some posters cant see the good for the bad ! Keyboard warriors pah!

Oh dear Grey now you KNOW there is no sympathy for self inflicted wounds ;-) but quite frankly if you cant have a few too many on your 53rd wedding anniversary - when can you ??

We went to see the roses in bloom yesterday and everything was pretty in pink so Ive added a couple of pictures .

As the frantic rush has now stopped here Im going to enjoy a lazy day and I hope all of you have something nice to look forward to.

grannyqueenie Thu 04-Jul-19 09:47:39

Dear Ann ????

grannyqueenie Thu 04-Jul-19 09:49:46

Sorry n&g crossed posts, beautiful roses. Enjoy your lazy day, I've stretched mine into several.....?

Izabella Thu 04-Jul-19 09:55:39

Good morning everyone from a sun drenched Shire. Very quiet here this morning. I am thinking the cockerel over the hill must have crowed himself hoarse ?.

I have just read back thread (taking notes to prompt this post) and would like to thank everyone who send their wishes and virtual flowers to me. I have never thought of myself as either amazing or inspirational but my cup has always been half full, rather than half empty. It is how I have survived in the past. I am just a normal sort of person dealing with a difficult situation to the best of my current ability. There are many others on this thread with a helluva lot to deal with.

I intially reeled when told I my MRI scan confirmed other tests and that I have Alzheimers. My professional training and knowledge mean I know what is in store for me, and at the moment often know more than some of the professionals involved. This does not make life easy!! I had two choices. Give in or get on with it. So I am making the best of life, living in the moment, loving nature, popping into the kitchen, laughing with friends, reading (then forgetting what I have read) and saying 'no' to a lot of things I either don't want or need to do anymore.

It is cheering to know that support in the kitchen is there for us all and I am now aware of the recent trials of annie and anne recently. flowers

A thank you to soop for initiating this safe haven and I wish everyone as peaceful a day as possible.

Thank you all XXXX

Izabella Thu 04-Jul-19 09:58:08

Oh, I just turned over my notes and realised I forgot to say I hope greyduster has a clear head this morning.

Izabella Thu 04-Jul-19 10:04:27

I took this yesterday. Not great as its on the phone. That's it now I shall leave you all in peace!!

dragonfly46 Thu 04-Jul-19 10:16:24

That is beautiful Izabella - I love your posts. They are so full of hope and cheerfulness.

Ann please don't let people upset you. The other posters remarks were unkind and totally uncalled for. I think they say more about her than you. We all know how kind you are flowers

TOYA

GrannyGravy13 Thu 04-Jul-19 11:10:55

Annsixty I am sorry you are so upset, I contributed to the same thread, and personally I can see nothing wrong with your posts.

Unfortunately in this world there exists some people who take pleasure in belittling others. I doubt it ever occurs to them to take a moment to consider the consequences of their actions.

Stay in this kitchen awhile where you are loved and respected.

Have left a pot of coffee and cookies on the side for all, those in need.

TOYA?

☕️☕️☕️☕️?????

Charleygirl5 Thu 04-Jul-19 12:00:36

I wrote a long missive and it has vanished into thin air- please own up, who deleted it, I know somebody said, OMG not her again!!!
