She hasn't got the i/v ab's in yet.
The Dr she saw from ENT said there may be complications from taking her tonsils out because of her cleft palate.
She will see a Consultant.

Gosh 90F soop, it is 80F here, but a very stiff wind, the sea is choppy as a result. I could eat a Magnum now, white chocolate preferably.

Evening All. It seems it could be a good thing I’ve had no time to venture into the wider GN today. Just be careful out there as the Sergeant whose name escapes me used to say in Hill Street Blues. Anyone else remember?

It’s been a comfortable 75 degrees here today. After beheading some roses and attacking a weed or two it was necessary to sit and enjoy both the sun and the usual breeze we have here. Just right. I’ve a 9am physio assessment tomorrow, the chairs are already in the car as we plan to find a quiet beach afterwards. That’s bound to jinx it.

My day sounds to have been far more restful than yours greyd, I’m sure your food will be delicious.

I could manage a Magnum now they have been mentioned. Once I’ve done here I’m off to put them prominently on the next supermarket shop list.

Mr C had quinsy many years ago and still recalls how much it hurt, I’m sorry your granddaughter is having to experience the pain of it ann. Seeing the Consultant sounds an excellent plan.

I’ve been on a deleted thread. I don’t think it’s ever happened to me before. Now I don’t know what happened after I’d posted. It’s like watching a serial and not knowing what happened in the last episode. Oh well. I’ll stay in the kitchen and eat cake I think ?

Yesterday I had a very enjoyable meet up with 2 Gransnetters, and a great natter.
My grandson rang me last night to say that little Max is going to have a baby brother or sister, so I`ll have to start filling another baby bag!
My eldest son has been here most of today setting up our new CCTV, the old cameras were on the blink. He has to come back tomorrow to finish off. I worry that he`s doing too much before he has his scan next month, it`s not long since he finished his radiotherapy.

Good morning all from a btight but breezy Stockport .
I am thinking of the Panaches today on their very big transition.
My GD was visited by a more senior Dr last night who reiterated what she had been told, they do not want to remove her tonsils, although improbable sounding to me, her tonsils help to support her palate and it is a risk that fluid would all come back down her nose as it did when she was a baby.
He said a yearly dose of tonsillitis or quinsy as she has now is a better option!!!
The other bad news is that if she cant go onto oral antibiotics today she will be transferred to anothe hospital 10 miles away as our local hospital closes tthe ENT dept every weekend.
I have blood tests this morning and then an appointment with the solicitors who are dealing with my H's will.
There are papers ready for signing.
So pleased that will soon be sorted.

Off to the gym this morning, then this afternoon our Godson is coming over to repair our hot tub, which in turn will cheer up our GC who really enjoy playing in it.

I forgot my congrats to callgirl and her family.
There are lots of small babies and ones on the way in the kitchen.
Make the most of them, it is too soon over.
My youngest is 8 and no romances in the older ones lives .
I am actually pleased about that, they are far too young.

Good news, Callgirl. Little Max will be big brother Max. Our big Max will be finishing primary school next month. Where do all the babies go?
Lovely morning - the breeze seems to be settling down and it will be hot. Unfortunately the pollen count is high and I woke up wheezing again.
Good wishes to the Panaches. It will be a wrench leaving their old home, but such a relief to have the convenience of an apartment.

Yes, it is a wrench leaving a house they have stayed in for years, especially as it has not been sold yet.

At least in their new abode they can sleep for a week and unpack at their leisure. Also they will not need workmen in doing various jobs- the decorating has been completed. Fortunately the weather is dry and most of the furniture will be moved when it is not a heatwave.

ann I cannot understand the attitude re removing your GD's tonsils. In our day they were removed at the drop of a hat and I certainly did not suffer long term. I do realise she has other issues but even so.

Good morning all. Thinking of the panaches today. A big move for them but they will take their memories with them and hopefully have an easier time and even make some new friends too.
annsixty. I hope your Gd improves soon. The line of leaving tonsils in is the same in our region, without the complication of the cleft palate. Perhaps in an ironic way, it would be better for her to move to the other hospital over the weekend and get a second opinion, also importantly not to be discharged too soon. Everyone wants out of hospital ASAP but in fact a hasty discharge can mean a readmission. (speaking from experience). I wish her well; she sounds a treasure.
Very warm here and I am spending lots of time watering the new shrubs. It is very soothing listening to the spray of the water and the sun is creating sparking rainbows - simple pleasures. It is making me fancy a little fountain as I also enjoy the sound of the rain on the windows.
I am too timid to comment on any other threads this week - scary. This thread is delightful. Thank you, thank you soop. So good I said it twice. ?

Ann so sorry to hear about your DG. I had the same problem which reared its head again when I was teaching. Our GP happened to be a homeopath and he cured me with some little pills which I took daily for 6 months. I never had it again!

Maw I am sorry to hear you have had a mauling again. I just seem to be overlooked and ignored which I suppose is better in a way.

Ann, I hope your lovely granddaughter gets well soon. I had a quinsy about 40 years ago and still live in horror of it happening again. I wasn't admitted to hospital but, considering I couldn't even swallow saliva, the huge tablets they gave me were murder.

Almost adjacent to the care home in Campbeltown is the Linda McCartney memorial garden. I walked around it and took a photo for you. She and Paul had a farm on the edge of Campbeltown. They loved Kintyre.
