How do you put yours on?

I never realised how difficult it was to buy a front fastening bra till I needed one because of a stiff shoulder. M&S didn't have any, neither did Debenhams, in fact the lady in Marks told me I should shop online, isn't that why they're closing branches? I've been doing the front fasten - twizzle method since then

Natural shape?? Unless I'm wearing either a gel bra or one of those "2 sizes" bigger ones from Asda, I don't actually have a "shape, well not in the bosom department anyway

I was told to do the back up (with or without the front to back twizzle) and then lean over as you put the straps on the make sure your breasts were held in the cups in a natural shape.

Still having a good laugh over this thread. I've always done it up in the front and twizzled. Never mind old ladies: I learned this trick at school when I was about 12. We had to share cubicles to dress after swimming and my cubicle-mate used that method. In those days we also had suspender belts and I thought she had got them muddled up.

Although we were still wearing socks in the 2nd form, of course.

But congratulations on maintaining a lissome shape if that's your self portrait. And I'd said I didn't wish to see any! Have you any more at home like that, perhaps in different colours? No rush! Must away; evening dinner calls.

My neck, arms and shoulders feel so stiff these days that I have to fasten at the front and put my arms in last. I got a bra once that fastened at the front, but it was so uncomfortable. I hate wearing bras and take it off after 7pm and put my pjs on., unless I am going out. Then it is suffer all night until I get back home.

I wonder if Bra Fitters secretly do their bras up at the front and twist and twizzle them round in the comfort of their own homes.

Well I'm surprised, this is one thing I can still do 'properly'.
ie put bra on with cups in front, straps over shoulders, then hook-up at the back.
I wear a Triumph Doreen bra and it's very strong. I once tried the fasten in front method but couldn't get it round to the back, let alone get my arms into the straps.

When this was discussed on here a few years ago, someone posted to say they were in the middle of trying the twizzle method and had fastened it at the front but now couldn't get it twisted round at all, as the straps over their shoulders wouldn't let it move round, and what should they do next?

No idea what your "thongs" look like; don't think I want to know either, but it can't be all that difficult surely? Perhaps I should practice with a willing young volunteer, but if my toes are not up to it we may be forced to use hand gestures. Now that would give your vivid imagination something to dwell on! Urmstongran you described how I do it exactly. Tried doing the fastening at the front once, couldn't twist it round to save my life!

I fasten at the front and twist round to the back, never been able to do the behind the back thing.

thongs have a different meaning in the UK, Rufus*!

I certainly wouldn't! I'd get an expert (man) to solve it; I have enough trouble putting on my thongs, especially when my toes are sore!

I've always put my arms in the straps, and reached behind and did the clasps up ! Last year , I put my shoulder out, and the pain was horrific trying to get a bra on in my usual way, so I started buying stretch sports bras with no clasps at all.
The first one I tried, I couldn't get it over my head, I was in agony, it seemed far too small to go over my head and then struggle to get my arms through, with such a painful shoulder, and then I realised that I just needed to step into it, and pull it up, and it stretched and fitted without any problems.. it took the best part of the year for my shoulder to heal, but I'm sticking with the stretch sports bras now . No more fiddling with clasps !!

Another twizzler here. However, there are times when my shoulders are too stiff to do the twizzling so I fasten it, step into it and wriggle it upwards.

Ha ha! Another twist and twizzler here. How are we shorter but generous bosomed ladies supposed to reach round the back? Our arms aren't long enough and we aren't double-jointed. No wonder it takes so long to get dressed of a morning.

Slip arms in, lean very much forward so boob drop into cups ...then fasten up at the back.

Oh a sketch book is needed for grans net, what with this and ermm what was the other thread I've forgot, but it entailed getting in various positions to do something, cant think what it was now.

Arms through the straps, lean forward to drop the boobs into the cups then stand up to fasten at the back.

Fasten at the front then twizzle it round, arms through and then make sure all is safely gathered in. Never been able to do it up at the back, and even more impossible now since I broke my shoulder.

No one was suggesting there was a right or wrong way BradfordLass just asking how we all contort ourselves every day to get dressed.

I had to think about this! I do mine up at the back, then put my arms through. Hoick straps up onto shoulders, arrange contents comfortably in cups, smooth any wrinkles
(in the material, not me) and away we go.
