Stunning sunset , n&g and very poignant for this remembrance time. The amazing skies are one of the things i enjoyed most when we visited your part of the country a few years back.

Fabulous clematis, greyduster, I have a similar one but although the flowers are good every year the foliage always looks weedy and sparse not green and lush as yours looks.

Lovely sunset! The rain has just started here and it is cold too! I have found out by accident that since our flight was over three hours late last week, we are entitled to compensation. Who knew?! Forms sent off already!
DH has been told that he is “probably” type 2 diabetic but we have lost all trust in our surgery. The test was not fasting bloods and according to BDA is only an indicator and the results are very borderline. Atkins diet until the next test and wait until we have a new GP is the plan! Is it cynical to wonder if diabetics bring in money to the practice?

With our Doctor paying us a visit yesterday it was time to sit down amidst the chaos and boxes.He was bringing the results of my dear one`s Bone scan taken last Tuesday.
Indeed far from good.There is much cancer in the bone with pelvic bones,hips and legs affected, so of course the big fear now is of a fracture.However the over the top PSA result for the Prostate Cancer has been dramatically reduced showing the treatm ent has workerd initially.
Now we await an appointment with the Urology Consultant 50 miles away ...........probably a face to face consultation needed to further the treatment in light of such bone cancer being verified.

Still onward with this move with our diaries filled for the next few weeks.............

Thoughts with you all and sincerely hope you do not have too many "buggerations" and that life is being peaceful and pleasant.

I finally got my appointment with a gp yesterday to discuss the results of the abdominal scan I had. Nothing to discuss really, apparently everything looked normal and the in-depth blood tests showed nothing awry either.

Me: So why the panic over high iron content in the original bloods and what's caused it? Is there anything I should change in my diet?
GP: No just carry on as normal - you're alright.
Me: Well actually I'm not. Since I got up this morning I've had a terrible pain in the top of my leg and have to hang onto stuff to move around.
GP: If it just started this morning it'll probably go away on its own. Don't worry about it. Goodbye.
Me:

Shan't be making an appointment with that GP again, there are much nicer ones in the practice.

My neighbour who is really worried about her 85 year old H rang the surgery to ask for an appt, they rang her back offering a telephone appt on the 1st of July.
I told her to TELL them to come out but she "doesn't like making a fuss".

The problems with GPS are getting serious for so many people. I am sorry to hear of DH’s diagnosis Panache. It was the same diagnosis as my Dad but treatment has improved in the last 20 years. Best wishes to him.

ann We must be truly fortunate. Our GP would not hestitate to make a house call if needed. You are right to urge your neighbour ro call back and "make a fuss" as her husband cannot be expected to wait until July. That's crazy. Barmey! .

When we walked into our pal's room at the care home, he wasn't in residence. He had been taken out to visit one of the lovely male carers who had recently had a heart attack. He is now making a good recovery. The carer's wife put on tea and cake. As we were returning home, we passed the care home transport in which our pal was enjoying his trip back to the Campbeltown home. It will have cheered him no end to escape his bedroom. Bless him.

I have been busy doing nothing for most of this afternoon. Tennis is the game I love to watch. It was sad that Jo Konta lost her match. We were out at the time.

Morning all !

Bit of liquid sunshine here this morning. I have done my bit in the West Wing and have come indoors for coffee and to be a vegetable for the rest of the day! Its a tough job but someone has to do it ;-)

So sorry to hear your worst fears are confirmed Panache but hope that some treatment can be recommended to help your Dh.

Sorry to hear about your experience with your GP Swanny, Grampy and I cannot get over how different our GP is here to our old practice. Its like day and night and this one is sooo much better. Pity the same cannot be said of availability of dentist care.

We have some lovely weather corner but today it has deserted us. Shame really as its the village fete . But its been postponed until tomorrow now as the forecast is more favourable. I am going along to see the mini donks.... mini donkeys which are used as support animals and visit schools and local care homes. They are the most adorable things, so I am going along for a cuddle.

Cooper always looks so happy ( I am sure there is the odd hiccup!) and that photo is no exception. I love all the photos displayed here- animals, children, gardens and monuments.

Normal service has resumed at this hotel- a 5.30am wakening- I told Tara to go away and she did and was pleased when I surfaced at 9 am. She is having a duvet day today so has retired upstairs and must have found a comfortable bed.

The sun is out, I should hang out washing but it would be helpful to wash it first- I cannot be bothered- one of those days as I have done little but sneeze since I came downstairs. I do not think I have a cold.

I've come in to hang my head in shame. I helped on an Alzheimers Society stall in the village this morning. On the next stall was some one I have know for years, mostly from the boys school and cricket matches etc, and she lives in cul del sac just up the road. I knew her husband had a brain tumour and was being nursed at home. I dont see her often nowadays but asked how her husband was. Apparently he died 6 months ago - how could I have not known? She was fine and I apologised profusely. We talked about her dh and shared memories of the boys, she cried a little. I still feel mortified!

The tennis is a bit of a headache for the players. Wind and rain and stoppage of play. All very disconcerting. The ladies final is to be played this afternoon. The men's semi-final is still ongoing.

kitty I have done something very similar in the past. Yes, I was, like you, mortified. These things happen. The lady realised that you felt awful. In sharing a few tears with you, you may have been of some comfort.

ann That back of yours is taking it's time to become less of a pain. Please do not over exert yourself. Gently does it.

Tomorrow's tennis final promises to be exciting. I thought that Thiem played like a real champion. I shall be rooting for Rafa. Except, friends have invited us to have soup and sandwiches at the very moment the match starts. It's highly unlikely that the invitation will include watching the match. Never mind. They are good pals and we always enjoy their company. One has to make sacrificies from time to time.

The day has been sunny and warm. MacSporran has cut the grass and cleaned the windows. I've ironed and watched tennis. Fair dos

A lovely day here, the washing should be dry. There are positives to having sight problems, I do not see dirty windows!

My new dishwasher is so quiet I do not know if it is on- marvellous.

I agree, soop I really do not mind being woken by Tara at some ungodly hour. She is so loving. I feel very sorry for her now because having had various tests done she has been shaved in at least 4 areas- her entire tum is bare and it will be uncomfortable when the hair grows again.
