Oooooh I’m all excited now......

MawBroonsback Sat 25-May-19 21:49:34

I wasn’t entirely on my own urmston
A good friend who has been making the curtains for my newly decorated bedroom came round this morning to hang them and then we had an hour in the garden with a coffee.
And in the afternoon I had my power washer for company and have washed one of the patios and the garden furniture ready for treating with preservative tomorrow before the rain forecast for the afternoon!
A profitable day smile

annsixty Sat 25-May-19 21:49:41

You are not getting me like that Urmston
I am not so foolish.

Urmstongran Sat 25-May-19 21:50:15

Love that Swanny! Thank you for explaining.
Now, who can help me with my Spanish. .... I’m not doing very well.
Apart from ordering food & wine that is, then I’m a dab hand!
?

MawBroonsback Sat 25-May-19 21:53:10

Annsixty you are doing wonderfully!
Just because you may not be in bits in public every day does not fool any of us into thinking you are coping without making a huge and brave effort.
The effort doesn’t necessarily get any less, but the ability to function on the surface becomes second nature.
Think of that analogy of the swan- all serene on the surface but paddling furiously under the water. ? ? ?

Urmstongran Sat 25-May-19 21:56:34

You make me feel so lazy Maw by comparison.
I suppose the cap fits!

It was good you had a friend over today. But as you say, a day without family. And you were fine. Good to hear that lovely lady.
?

So, which is me on the photo above do you think?

Urmstongran Sat 25-May-19 21:59:23

Maw what you say must I’m sure be a comfort to so many on here.

GN and soops rocks!
❤️

Urmstongran Sat 25-May-19 22:01:27

Go on.
Take a punt!

annsixty Sat 25-May-19 22:07:08

Absolutely no chance and I am going to sleep now.
Good night everyone ?

Swanny Sat 25-May-19 23:33:35

Och it has been personally difficult today but you are a good bunch to know and I am so grateful to you all xx

Swanny Sun 26-May-19 00:00:52

Ignore my maudling please, it's been one of those days smile. I am looking forward to a few days of responsibility for no-one but myself. TOYA to everyone experiencing distress of whatever kind x

Synonymous Sun 26-May-19 08:49:19

Thank you for kind replies! I will look at suggestions for holidays this afternoon. A cruise sounds good Galen so I will see what is available.

Ref the 'accident' DD raised her eyes to the heavens and said, "Dad, weigh your prosthetic leg and put it on before weighing yourself and then subtract one from the other!" Takes a primary school teacher to sort him out! grin

Must dash as I don't want to be late - will pop in later. TOYA

synonymous you were right to be angry. My DH is the opposite though and I feel doesn’t help himself. I hope you manage to get away.

Maw good to hear a little contentment is settling in, I hope it stays awhile.

So sorry to hear you had a bad day swanny please offload here. It is what we are here for. We all have those days and it helps to share.

ann I admire how you are carrying on. We all know it isn’t easy.

Great to hear from Izabella I hope the fog lifts frequently so you can visit more often.

And we still don’t know which one is Urmston!

TOYA

Good afternoon my lovelies. It's a bit grey and there is dampness in the air. An afternoon for some tennis, I hope.
Yesterday I looked forward to watching a rugby match that didn't appear on our TV. shock My language as I fiddled with the "proder" was best not repeated by any one of you dear peoples. blush

Izabella I agree. You are a shining star. All our personal experiences, when shared, may benefit another Granspal. flowers

Urmstongran A bevy of beauties, seated in the sunshine quaffing wine and enjoying each other's company. What's not to like! I would join you in a trice. grin

ann You have my respect. There was a song to which I exercised, when I was younger and fitter - 'The Only Way is UP'. Bring it on! wink

Doodle The tale of the goslings that farted through the railings and needed rescuing (even though the gate was open) made me laugh aloud. Priceless! grin

Swanny et al, thank you for your kind words. Bless you.

soop Sun 26-May-19 12:53:00

Urmstongran Are you the lovely lady dead centre? smile

soop Sun 26-May-19 12:55:09

Synonymous Let us know what you decide to do regarding a much-needed, well-deserved break. Us lot are nosey. What's more, we care.

soop Sun 26-May-19 12:57:09

Maw Any chance of borrowing your power washer? I would love an afternoon of path/patio cleaning.

Galen Sun 26-May-19 13:31:12

I think she’s the blonde on the lrft

Galen Sun 26-May-19 13:31:22

Left

MawBroonsback Sun 26-May-19 13:38:30

☔️☔️
Outside, teak protector opened, rubber gloves on, coffee to hand - guess what happened?
Now I will have to wait until it is dry again ????

Synonymous Sun 26-May-19 14:41:22

Just started looking at holidays and suddenly realised we have let our passports expire! hmm grin

cornergran Sun 26-May-19 14:50:30

A comfy hotel which is properly wheelchair friendly then synonymous, preferably with a butler to hand. Having said that apparently passports are only taking two weeks at the minute so maybe?

Don't give up, you both deserve a holiday. smile. I hope your husband has listened to your daughter, otherwise will it be lines or kept in after school?

Grey, damp and miserable here today so the planned gardening is on hold. I'm faffing with the technology when I should be sorting my wardrobe, Mr C is watching something recorded that he likes and I don't. Sort of good allround. grin.

TOYA, be good everyone.

Alygran Sun 26-May-19 14:59:00

Synonymous DD1 applied for a new passport online last Saturday, DGS age 10 took her photo, posted old passport away on Monday and she received her new one on Thursday!
Just stopped raining here in Glossop so may get some gardening done later with DD2.
Ann you are doing so well. I think you cooked more in one meal than I have for myself in 20 months.
TOYA

Doodle Sun 26-May-19 15:08:01

I’m with you Galen. I too think you’re the blonde on the left Urmston. Are we right? ?

Galen talking of cruising. Do I remember that you are off to Amsterdam on your next cruise? You will be careful how you pack on your return journey won’t you, we don’t want you to be one of those cruisers who are arrested for drug smuggling! ?

soop Sun 26-May-19 15:14:53

Doodle Please don't go putting ideas into Galen's head. She'll give us lot a bad name again grin

soop Sun 26-May-19 15:16:52

Alygran The sun has also made an appearance in Kintyre. Mind you, the sea is extra frisky. Lovely white-topped waves. I like it.
