Thinking of you Ann, I guess you were expecting this but possibly not today. I am so glad you were able to be there with him for those last moments. flowers

Dearest ann , I am so sorry to hear of your sad loss and so thankful you were able to be with him for his final moments.

Take whatever time you need now to grieve and be sure to take good care of yourself too. I am glad you have Molly for company, they aren't great talkers but a pet instinctively knows when you need some extra cuddles.

So sorry to read this. Whilst you ‘lost’ the personality you loved some time ago the final closure is still a hard thing to come to terms with. Let your family and friends care for you for a while now. You did him proud.

Solace ?

Don’t envy us too much, Panache. There was a time not all that long ago when we would have made very short work of a scramble over the tors in my photographs (they don’t look much until you get up close!) - I have been doing it since I was a child - and hop along the rocky trails like a couple of mountain goats, but now the trails seem longer and the rocks rockier, and, as DH said yesterday, you have to spend more of your time watching where you put your feet than looking at the scenery!
What really put a smile on my face yesterday was to see a small girl, no more than seven, all roped up, tackle around fifty feet of sheer rock face under the guidance of her father, with complete aplomb! I was terrified just watching her! She didn’t have a care in the world.

Glad the conservatory is almost finished, Gq. Believe it or not, we still have a little internal “finessing” to do in ours, when DH can be persuaded to get a ladder out!

We didn’t have a lot of time with GS this afternoon. He sent me a text to ask if he could go to a friend’s house to play football after school, to which, of course, having cleared it with his dad, we said yes but I would like to see him first, so he came home, had a drink, showed us what seemed to be about three hundred photos of a Parisian cake shop he had taken and then disappeared with a crowd of noisy boys (all of whom we knew, thankfully)! So now we only have the guinea pigs for company. DH is feeding them dandelions I brought over from our garden. They love him - for five minutes. One is very shy. He won’t come to you for food. He sits in his little plastic house and if you put food down, he will move both himself and the house toward the food and then eat it. I think he must have been a hermit crab in another life!?

I will look in later!
