soop that is brilliant news. I am on anti oestrogen therapy and apart from right at the beginning have no side effects. How kind that they rang to let you know.
Both my oncologist and surgeon, two women, are very kind.

DH is very doddery this week and his speech is really bad. Can’t wait until next week when we see the specialist and find out exactly what the problem is.

The lodgers have been deposited home. The house elf produced lunch and sanitised the kitchen post baking before a beach walk. Phew. We’re relishing the quiet, much as we love them they can be oh so noisy. Don’t think either would qualify for a badge for keeping quiet n&g, we’ll done to Cooper.

Sounds a worrying time for you anneliese, not long until the consultant appointment now.

Molly was certainly the right decision ann, she sounds both characterful and loving. Hope your husband has settled and you are easier in your mind.

Oh, seagulls callgirl, there was an earnest discussion between the young ones over breakfast this morning comparing nuisance factor of seagulls and magpies. Seagulls won. . Hope alls well with Archie’s family now and he won’t need b&b again.

Hope the appointment was at least a little helpful panache and the process not too exhausting.

Some sorting and tedious cleaning also needed here greyd, we also leave the chores when young ones are here n&g, there are more fun things to be doing .

I missed your post earlier Soop, how very dare I? That`s wonderful news! Onwards and upwards now!
My son has also had an encouraging phone call from the hospital, where he is into his second week of radiotherapy. He`s been told that they are definitely targeting the right area, and that the mass appears to be shrinking. It has made him feel a little more positive. My other 2 daughters are taking turns, along with his wife, in driving him the just over 30 miles to the hospital every day, and on Thursday I`m going along for the ride, and a change of scenery.

At last Fred’s new home is being built. He has spent the winter in my hall, very small hall, his front end in the bathroom, couldn’t close bathroom door , loo faces front door !

I had to think about that, Annie, but eventually realised that Fred is not a 'who' but a 'what'. Your mobility scooter?

OK I signed up with Slimming World last night so could you lot please be terribly kind and put all cakes (especially coffee and walnut, lemon drizzle, jam sponge, scones, flapjacks, brownies ....) out of reach

Nothing starts my day better than reading some positive news from my chums in the kitchen.

Thrilled indeed that you do not need debilitating (though again life saving) chemo Soop After a real trial things are certainly turning for the better and you still have several little hills ahead but knowing of you now you will climb them with great aplomb!!!
Onward and upward and may it all go nice and smoothly from now on,you have already had too many hiccups!
I too recieved 6 weeks aggressive non stop radiotherapy and no chemo ..........just like you Ann

Three cheers for that sweet new friend of yours providing that uplift in your life just at the right time Ann and she certainly has you wrapped around her little paw!!!Another one brought up with an outside “privy” so I can well understand why she chooses her litter tray!!

Another one that has been thinking of Morethan and wondering how her family`s life is panning out.

GQ I can well imagine the sense of relief you experienced on hearing both your daughters were free of breast cancer, great news for sure.
Whilst I personally have had excellent care from the NHS over many years just as you have said,sadly this is not so where my husband is concerned.He has been badly let down several times since his stroke prior to Christmas.So much so his own GP is getting very frustrated with them.

Feeling for you Anneliese as I know what its like seeing your man not be the same man he once,very distressing times.Hopefully there will be thoise answers to help him coming very soon

My appointment was also troublefree in itself,a very long wait but eventually on meeting the Opthalmologist, she was far more caring than the harsh one I met previously.She truly gave my eyes a thorough examination and stated that at this stage there was no cause for alarm, but I have eye drops plus she suggested vitamins, since I have such a poor diet.Back in 3 months (which by passed standards means more like 8 months!!)
However sadly it seems my dear man may have to give up driving,another blow as the short journey,3/4 miles to and from the Hospital rendered him in such discomfort.It is not nice seeing him like this.

I am sure you will be even more pleased than your Fred when he gets himself a new home Annie!!!.............even if he enjoyed your hallway and bathroom I am sure it caused you a few headaches!!

I am amazed at all of you and your tenacity dealing with so many of the younger generation,where oh! where do you all get your energy from I ask??Of course they are part and parcel of your own blood and although it may make for hectic living on those visits,I can see you enjoy having them around you so very much.
Another thing I have obviously lost out on!

At last the sunshine promised and I rather think it will have to be a quiet laid back day..........well in my dreams!.........yesterday seems to have sapped any of my faded “get up and go!!”

Ann Your memories made me chuckle. The surgeon, breast cancer nurse with whom I have a special closeness, and the oncologist are all female. All have a hearty sense of humour. As you say, it counts.

That's right Callgirl we have to build a shelter for Fred attached to the kitchen so Annie can ride him when she comes to visit.
