What a busy weekend! We had Dd, SiL and Mim for the weekend so I’ve been on the go for most of it. DH and I were in the care of Mim on Saturday morning and she insisted that a croissant was the way to go......for a second breakfast while we had coffee. ?

We’re going to have a free bank holiday Monday to ourselves to catch up with our sitting down!

soop there are about 3 days this year when I have not had one. My four-legged one does not stay long enough.

Today is the first time I have felt able to do anything at all in a while and my goodness it is taking some catching up with all the happenings in the kitchen.

Panache words are just not enough. We will continue to lift you both and pray blessings on you both.

Baggs, Ann, MawB (((hugs))) and Be very kind to yourselves, it takes far longer than anyone supposes to regain any equilibrium and I don't think you truly " get over your loss" you just learn to live with it a little better each day and slip back now and again.

Kitty it sounds as if recovery is coming - but gently does it.

So pleased to hear that you have a well performing prosthetic! It gives such confidence to know you look 'right' doesn't it!

Himself is being fitted with his first prosthetic leg on Tuesday morning and he is looking forward to it very much. I hope all will be well as he has had an allergic reaction to the material from which the Juzo is made. I am hoping he can get one made from something more natural but have no idea what as it needs to compress the stump. He left it off overnight and the rash diminished considerably so we are fairly confident that our supposition is correct as he has also developed an allergy to some sticking plasters too - which is hardly surprising given all he has been through!

I have booked a hotel for the night before as I just cannot drive both ways and do all that is entailed for the hospital visit in the one day so I will just take my time and we will eat when we find somewhere nice. It is a lovely drive when the weather is good.
Once Himself was home and the hospital trips stopped I seemed to collapse in a heap and could do nothing for three or four days, just sleeping and filling the sink with dirty dishes. I am so grateful to the lovely lass who cleans for us and came and sorted us out. Then a friend visited and helped me make the bed and other little things that make such a difference.
We leave tomorrow morning and hope to be home by Tuesday night, all being well.

I know I will have missed someone so I will just send you all some and let you know that I am TOYA !!

I know that feeling of letdown after a period of extreme worry/tension/emotional activity Synonyous as I expect most of us do. Mine was to live off toast and peanut butter and slump on the sofa, unable even to get myself to bed!

Hello ? can you hear me? Away from home at the moment and internet connection is almost non existent. I’m up on the roof at the moment (roof terrace via spiral staircase - not for the faint hearted) in the hope the WiFi would be better. Just wanted to catch up on news. Panache so, so glad to hear from you. I know you struggle to keep in touch but it’s so good to hear you have a bit of positive news to share.

Synonymous you can get what my late uncle referred to as his 'stump socks'. They are fine seamless tube type covers which create a barrier between skin and prosthesis may be of help to your DH.

They should be supplied automatically with his new prosthesis. Good luck. Before you know it he will be walking pain free and unaided.

A very good afternoon dear peoples. I managed to lose my previous post. Don't ask!

Mamissimo Mim's eyes are the most gorgeous blue. She is a very pretty wee lassie.

Doodle dear, please do take care on that spiral staircase. You are far too precious. No trips or tumbles - PLEASE.

Synonymous It will be a very special day when Mr S's prothesis is fitted. You are wise to take the journey at a leisurely pace. A stay overnight in a hotel is what we would choose to do in your position.
You have both done amazingly well. When you get the opportunity, relax and live in the moment.

About 140 people live in our wee village. It has so much talent and enterprise. The annual flower festival, held in the kirk, attracts visitors who can then enjoy home-baked cake and refreshments in the rather delapidated village hall. The village hall fund will possibly never be able to reach the target required to renovate it during our lifetime. We all do what we can to raise funds but it is a huge ask of a very small community.

The kirk looks amazing. I have taken scores of photographs of the exhibits. I shall share a favourite of mine with you.

Mamissimo, your little granddaughter is beautiful, what lovely eyes she has. I have a sixteen month old granddaughter called Charlotte, I'm not able to post a picture, but her and Mim are so alike. She has blond hair held with a clip but has very dark brown eyes. She is the youngest of my five granddaughters.
I've recently spent a few days with her and her 10 year old sister and had the most wonderful time.

Good afternoon all, just popping in to say I'm back, albeit without my usual vigour.
I have tried to keep up with the Kitchen, but "lost" the plot somewhere along the line.
I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes.

I experienced a very severe allergic reaction to new rheumatoid medication, which resulted in some heart damage and a spell in Coronary Care in the same hospital, in which our dear Soop had her op. The care was fantastic!

It has been a bit of a wake up call, with lots to think about. Two holidays and two hospital appointments cancelled so far and more scans to follow.
I think my days of "fast" living may be over!!!
In fact I may have to resign from the Argy and reside in a quieter establishment.

My brain is still a wee bit woozy, (no it's not the Argy poteen, I'm not allowed any ?) so I won't try to mention names, but rest assured, I'm thinking of everyone.

So pleased things are going well Synonymous you have been through a lot recently. The fitting of the prosthetic is the beginning of normality again.

We are getting ready for our trip south to first care for my daughter in London who has had a hip replacement at 40 and then on to Brighton to our son's as it is our DGD's 4th birthday. I believe a trip to the circus is in order which we be interesting. It will be good to get away to different surroundings for a while.

Sar Time shared with our grandchildren and great grandchildren is truly precious. We are so very lucky.

* Marydoll* How shocking for you! I know how it feels to 'take your medicine' and have it all go wrong - in my case anaphalactic shock - not as bad as yours! Do take it very easy and rest rest rest!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all slept well and are in good spirits ( as far as possible) this morning. The floor is swept, cushions plumped, coffee on and some fresh warm Welsh cakes on the side with butter.

Good morning all.
Just checking in to see if you are all well , ( well as well as possible) thekitchen has been a sad and sombre place recently, iy is what we must expect as we age.
I had family here over the bank holiday which was lovely but very tiring, tired is my usual, current state.
As Maw said on another thread I am finding simple things beyond me, I am living mainly on snacks, but lunch out today with a friend which I am so looking forward to.
Slowly getting through paperwork but Easter held everything up.
My future financial situation is still uncertain.
I may need to take in washing.
Finding it hard to do my own actually, nothing really seems to matter.
