I love my grandson but!

So picked him up at 7am we did breakfast at our local shopping centre then Park then garden play then swimming then persuaded him to have a nap.

Then leaky nappy then he pushed over another child at soft play then another leaky nappy and sick on the soft play area equipment so we left after alerting staff then he had a massive tantrum but I wrested him to the car then home.

Another leaky nappy which the dog helped sort confusedas I ran upstairs to get wipes and then both the dog and dgs anointed the carpet!!!

Grandson now asleep. Nanny now has a large glass of white smile

Love it. As in he’s at nursery tomorrow and after dropping him I can rest.

How did we do this daily? I had 4 and can’t imagine how I ever did it!!

I love my gransons but for short periods........ they make you feel young for the first half hour!

I am on my way to ending 42 years of this. Oldest DD is 42, current Foster Child will be the last---of 110
We started Fostering as youngest DD went to school
Have loved almost every day with the children, though can't say the same for all SWs and birth parents

It's definitely different when they aren't your children and you are older. By the time I was 40 my DDs were 12 and 10, and were pretty easy. DD2 hadn't even had her twins by that age so much more taxing, and for us too, as oldies. Love them so much though.

My GS live quite a way away from me,but we are having them to stay for 4 nights shortly and we are in our 70s we are taking them to a camp site so be plenty for them to do and wear them out ,and us as they like waking up really early in the mornings.

I had 4 too - my DS & DDIL left their 3 darlings with me last summer holidays- dropped them of & went back home ( overseas) for several weeks!!! I was nearly dead!!! Never again.

Sounds like you had a fantastic day. Often wonder how we coped. No car, never mind two, no disposable nappies, automatic washing machines, microwaves, all night shopping, ready meals. And, how many of us indulged in a glass of wine at the end of the day to soothe the mind and body?
