Soops kitchen refuge for gentle ladies

Many thanks for all your concern about my DGS's falling out with his best friend. They seem to have been reasonably amicable on Friday according to his teacher, but as she saw me waiting she let him out before the others. The situation is a bit difficult as both boys have autism but teachers and all parents seem to be working in the same direction. Like so many of you have experienced the parents have become friends too through the boys. Fingers crossed.

Beautiful photos of the boys in their 'posh' suits. They reminded me of my niece's boys at a family wedding about the same ages.
So many heartening posts in here at the moment as well as many kitchen pals needing support as they soldier on in the face of adversity. I’m so sorry you are both still stuck with home worries panache, it surely is time you could both stop worrying about practicalities and relax a bit.

Thank you for your concern today about the flipping arm soop and anno, I’m taking the pain relief my body copes with and understand that sensible behaviour now and the passing of time will be the answer. I’ve been more than sensible today and so hope for a more restful night.

kalu and baggs DH and I have been to Norway twice to see the northern lights. A small sighting but nothing much. Hope you are awake to see them if they appear tonight. ( actually that sounds as though I don’t want you to sleep but you know what I mean).
soop you are such a stylish glam person, you put me to shame. I have had a cold for a few days ( nothing much) and couldn’t be bothered to do much today but there you are, post surgery, looking stunning. ( memo to self ..must try harder ?)

So glad to see our beloved Soop out and about so soon after surgery, but I hope she will take the advice to rest up. With all the emotion of the op, and the tragic loss of a good friend, you need to be kind to yourself, dear soop.

In case anyone is interested, I’m in California visiting DD1 who has just bought her first home. Great excitement!
I have my DGD with me, having travelled from Malta to Paris to Florida to pick her up, then we flew together to California for her Spring Break. She is 8 years old and I only see her once a year so our time together is very precious, as I am sure you will understand. We fly back to Florida on Monday where her mum ( DD2) lives. Back to Malta in three weeks, already dreading it.

It’s a beautiful morning here. Clear sky. Slept much better so plan some gentle gardening today. There’s a new shrub to plant. The labourer, aka Mr C, will do the heavy stuff. I will point and be patient then do some light tidying. Apparently movement is recommended and will do no harm so movement it will be and being outside will be good for us both.

That sounds a little better for your grandson swanny, sometimes a weekend does the trick, fingers crossed here for you. Hope your husband will relax a bit today susan and soop please take care of yourself.

corner you have inspired me to get into the garden too. I have some summer bulbs to plant up in pots and they really need to go in so that will be the first job. DH will be roped in to do further tasks under close instruction of course as he does not always recognise weeds as such! (He does freely admit that).

I am feeling more myself as my mouth has improved a lot and is only tender now in one spot on the gum where it was cut open. Managed to eat salad yesterday - I had been craving it so that was good.

Sorry to hear kitty is under par and needs to recover today alongside all those others still not fully better. Yes soop - that does mean you too! Please take things steady.

Pleased you’re getting over the dental surgery gaga, these things take their time, enjoy being outside. What is it with these men and weeds? Mr C also doesn’t recognise them in spite of many years of training. Still as long as he doesn’t use too much initiative we manage well enough. .

My DH is the opposite - he recognises weeds but also thinks some of my plants are weeds too and precious perennials disappear if he helps!

Corner,hope you enjoy your time in the garden,my husband has been told movement is important for his recovery but don’t overdo it.I think for everybody suffering and recovering at the moment,the main thing is to take it slowly and not overdo things.

Back home from a rather damp week in Cornwall - and quickly realising that it will be impossible to catch up with everyone. Resident DS has eaten everything that I didn’t leave for him in the freezer, and has left the junk I got in to match his usual eating habits. Sainsbugs for me this morning - and a weeks laundry ☹️

An absolute corker of a day with little breeze but a whole lot of beautiful sunshine pouring down from a cloudless sky,the sort of day that lifts up one`s spirits for sure.
Our beaches will surely have many visitors this day.

However although so pleased to hear you tackling a spot of gardening Corner..........does that mean some relief from your pain? I do also note Mr C will be doing the harder work which reminds me once again, how much I miss those services my own dear man has provided over the years.we worked initially as a team and it was great,then when I was unable to do my bit he did it all................now we are faced with having to call the "Big boys" in and it is an altogether no fun paying others to do what was once our happy playground!!

My DH always says a weed is a flower in the wrong place. His talent in the garden is to pull out flowers/seedlings and leave the weeds. Mmmmmm I wonder why?
