Ann, I know exactly how you are feeling, the NHS paid for my husband to spend the last days of his life in a local Nursing Home - I no longer had the hospital journey, and they gave us a really lovely room, knowing it was for only a short time. The sun shone through sparkling windows with the brightest of curtains. Not sure my husband was aware, but I was, and the family, and it somehow made life/death a little easier. OH DEAR!

harrigran Mon 08-Apr-19 16:08:46

My thoughts are with you Ann flowers

annodomini Mon 08-Apr-19 16:33:24

Ann, what a blow for you especially when you are at a low ebb yourself, recovering from a nasty virus. I know you have support from family but if there's anything I can do, I will gladly do it. xxx

Have had a lengthy appointment with our GP. Antibio's for latest UTI are not effective. Inflammation surrounding the site of the mastectomy is no better. Prescribed Doxycycline to try to deal with both. Blood test shows substantional anaemia. Further wee sample to be taken to surgery tomorrow. Inflammatory markers to be tested. A bit washed out. Poor appetite and upset stomach. A blip of sorts from which I shall emerge in due course.

TOYA smile moon

soop no wonder you feel under the weather. Let’s hope the new drug works well and makes a difference soon.

I feel a bit out of it. I have no idea what your post about your DD said kitty or why you need to lie down ?. Others seem to understand so it’s obviously me that’s not with it. I think I’d better go and lie down too ?

Nannytopsy Mon 08-Apr-19 19:40:26

So sorry Ann - a blessing that he is not in pain from the bones. Soop might this be a gentle reminder that you have to rest a bit? TOYA

cornergran Mon 08-Apr-19 19:55:13

I’m so sorry ann, if relieved your husband isn’t in pain. Please care for yourself as you can, thinking of you all and sending love.

Hmm, soop, that doesn’t sound positive, please listen to gentle advice to rest more. Hope the antibiotics are successful.

We’re also on grandparent duties this week, a bit bushed already it’s been a long and lively day with another ahead tomorrow so a brief visit.

TOYA and be good everyone smile.

Marydoll Mon 08-Apr-19 20:01:53

Anne I'm so sorry to hear the news of your husband, especially when you are also struggling.
Soop, you must take care of yourself.
Hugs and prayers for you both.

Bellanonna Mon 08-Apr-19 20:12:02

Ann you have such a lot to deal with. As has been said, one step at a time. Thinking of you x

NanaandGrampy Mon 08-Apr-19 20:16:33

Evening all!

So sorry to hear your news Ann , thinking of you and hoping your meeting eases your mind a little.

And sorry to hear you’re unwell soop , hopefully the new medication will work quickly, please rest . Your granddaughter is lovely . She obviously takes after you :-)

Kitty - stay in your darkened room ....I have a feeling you might need it.

I’m feeling much better just in time for Grampy to catch the lurgy. So I shall be going to slimming tomorrow and he can stay home - although I think the ladies will miss him.

I’m sending a very nice lemon drizzle cake and good wishes to one and all - I’ll catch you all tomorrow x

So sorry to read your news Ann, bit pleased that your husband isn`t in any pain, TOY
Soop, please take good care of yourself and rest more, TOY as well.
GreyD that cake looks delicious, bags a slice!
My son went for his second chemo session this morning, also the start of daily radiotherapy for 6 weeks. He has to travel over 30 miles every day for 6 weeks to Lincoln County hospital. He arrived at 9.15 for his 9,30 appointment, was kept waiting till 10.15, then asked if he had his blood test results with him. He said he hadn`t had a blood test, was told he should have had one on Friday, so then had to go for a blood test and wait for the results to come through, they started his treatment at 12.30 pm. He was a little peeved because when he had his first chemo session at Boston they gave him a hot cooked dinner, at Lincoln they gave him a couple of sandwiches!
So he was a bit peckish by the time he arrived home at 8.30 pm, and shattered.
I`m shennanniking around on here because something`s gone wrong with my online Tesco order and I have to go back later and sign in again, GRRRRRR!!!
