lemongrove You promised not to let on that I was found under the table. Truth is, as I was fandangoin' I tripped, my knicker elastic broke, I was forced to take refuge where the Admiral wouldn't find me.
Note to you lot - Lemongrove is given to exaggerating the actual facts. It's not what it looked like. Honest!

Soops kitchen refuge for gentle ladies
(1001 Posts)Well as first for me. Opening a new kitchen full of light, love and support
I was going to say morning all but realised I just missed it so good afternoon everyone ?.
mamissimo that little one is gorgeous. What a lovely happy little face.
N&G in the current climate of opioid restriction I am reluctant to mention it but in case it helps I will say that when my DH has one of his bad coughs a couple of days of codeine tablets help him immensely. I’m not sure you could get the tablets but perhaps a codeine linctus might help.
I must go and shopping now before lemon spots me and schedules me on the cleaning rota at the Argy. See you all later ?
Ok soop we’ll believe you ??
Grannyknot Take a bow. Big (((hugs))) and bigger
N&G That cough is a blighter. It has floored scores of folk in these parts. The only thing you need is plenty of fluids and rest. Please get well soon.
Feelingmyage Remain an "innocent" there are far too few of us around like the rest of us.
Doodle What's not to like about our kitchen. It never needs cleaning, that's what. Whenever I've visited the Argy Bargy I have wiped my feet before stepping outside.
1inamillion Your name suits you perfectly.
I am to prepare myself for a visit to the hairdresser. Gulp!
If when I return I dare to share the new me with you lot, I hope to do so.
TOYA
N&G I notice that very few if any of the cold and cough wonders advise you to watch for drowsiness- that is what you want, assisted sleep.
Coughing can be horrendous- I am so sorry I have no magical cure. Tara usually jumps ship if I cough- does Sam?
soop please, please rest. It is no time since surgery. I will get very cross if I hear you have been near that bug infested Argy. You must not get your wound infected because that will affect your hip replacement. If you are not careful Tara and I will be on the next train and should be there early tomorrow.
Doodle nobody will notice if you clean or not- you may be better leaving it- you do not want to become ill having shifted the amount of dust there. It is so dark nobody will notice and how many are sober?
Albas pastilles work well whenever I have a persistent cough N&G. Nothing worse than sleep deprivation to turn me into a real bear with a sore head
Keeping an eye on that cupboard Soop. Now that the culprit’s secret hidy hole has been discovered, I’m sure whichever greedy gal is responsible won’t be doing this again?
Things are bad when you don’t know what time of day it is Doodle Listen to me who has to stop and think what DAY it is??
Feelingmyage baby oil usually goes on very nicely ?, but seeing he is an Icelander he might appreciate whale oil, or a big bit of blubber, judiciously applied (you might need a peg on your nose though?). Gosh I am getting rather overheated now - I’d better go and clean the kitchen bins out to bring me back into the here and now!
What the heck has happened in here? What's all this sloppy stuff on the floor.
Never mind, I think corner and gd are on kitchen cleaning duties!!
I do hope that Izabella is okay- we have not heard from her for a while.
Good afternoon all x
I am reclining on the sofa after shopping trip to both Sainsbury's and Aldis (other supermarkets are available of course).
Oldest AC and wife arriving soon to spend four days with us, shall be busy but brilliant to catch up. He is being deployed abroad for 3 years imminently which is always hard, but does make for fabulous holidays when we visit!!!
So sorry to hear that "the dreaded coughs and colds" are still around, rest and fluids is what's called for. ( none of that poteen served up next door in the Argy, and the only thing you need to rub on your chest is Vicks!!)
Will try to pop in again soon
TOYA ??
Charleygirl I’ve been thinking about Izabella too and hoping that she is alright.
soop
you are so right about the Argy
Can’t wait to see the new hairdo ?
Afternoon kitchen friends and may I daintily step into what I take to be "our Kitchen" although with all the goings on here, I am fearing for my sanity!!!
I once poked my nose around the door in the "Argy" and quicker than quicksilver made my retreat!
Seems this certain illness has gripped several of you and judging by the details you gave is Ann I sincerely hope you take your own time to pick up,these knock backs take time and there is no rushing them.
You too N & G get well soon..........your estate needs you!
I have also been concerned at not hearing from Izabella Charley, but I don`t like intruding in the circumstances but sincerely hope all is as well as it might be.
No later news from the Syn family but I can appreciate the tiredness and feelings following such an operation, both are probably "washed out"............sending renewed strengths and best wishes to both.
Am so pleased hearing fuller details of your latest Consultation Soop and I am immediately impressed by the treatment plan put forward especially dealing with your
own Cancer.
I applaud the scottish NHS and although there is much to-ing and fro-ingfor you both, it is obviously so well worth it and it is specifically designed to eventually bring you a good long life,a great uplifting thought.
You will be heading this kitchen for a very long time yet!! Hurrah!!!
Whilst pleased your own Colonscopy is over Baggs........none of us like the darn thing!! but so sorry hearing of your Mum`s broken ribs.So very painful and not very much on offer.Hope though she is as comfy as can be.
I think our welsh NHS needs to learn from its scottish counterparts, they are too slow to catch a snail and yes,we the patients are suffering.
My man had an appointment at our Hospital yesterday and it was queried why he had not had his abdominal scan, ordered back in January? the simple answer being no one sent us the form!
He is now to undergo far more scans etc including delving into the Prostate........as well as trying to solve this pain he is in most of the time
I am not impressed.
My gynae biopsy I learnt this week has been postponed again............for the second time.
Should they cancel my Opthalmic appointment I will have plenty to say, this is now imperitive, although of course I cannot expect much help.
Having managed a quick once over of our garden areas where these so called gardeners came in to mow........with hands out for their rather lucrative payout.......quite frankly I am rather disgusted at their shoddiness.
Yes they left the place overall tidy and they sped through it all at a rapid pace............but they surely could have left a better finished product.
Little wonder we do not like having others in to do any work............it usually means you need to go over and redo it.Although in this case neither of us can!!!
What a darling Mamissio .........happy days indeed.I love your night caps but I think in my case I need a sledge hammer!!
Whilst some parts of our county has had some snow this week we have escaped although it has been bitterly cold and quite a lot of rain has fallen.Temperatures are to improve by Sunday......and then there COULD be more snow next week............happy April!!
Time to cast my eyes on my patient, although in reality I am not altogether sure who is caring for who......leaving my happy kitcheners enjoying the warm ambience and TOYA!!!
TOYA with illness, family matters and other aggravations..
I am pleased to say that I am on the mend.
I have had a boiled egg and three dry crackers.
This is the first day I have not needed paracetamol for my poor back and ribs.
I was still unable to visit H but I rang the ward and was told he "was fine".
I will have to believe that until I can get there, maybe tomorrow?
I have tried twice to make contact with the social worker with no joy.
I was told by the duty SWwho answered initially that he will be assessed again when he is ready to be discharged from hospital.
Why does that not fill me with any confidence? Surely I should be told whether or not the current care home can accept him back.
It is 2 weeks today the new SW came to the home to discuss this with me and then the manager.
Am I bring unreasonable to expect some sort of interim report, before the day he is due to be discharged when the onus will be on me to find him somewhere to go?
I will not just accept anywhere,
I struggled long and hard to keep him at home until I was reasonably happy.
I am not letting that be for nothing, nor will I let him down.
He deserves better.
Good to hear from you Panache - sorry to hear about your buggerations with the Welsh health service. I heard on the news that a hospital in Chester is not taking any more Welsh patients as they do not get paid. Sad state of affairs.
Massimo your little one is indeed gorgeous.
Having a quiet day today so have made a chocolate cake (calorie free of course) and have left it on the side with a big pot of tea.
Thank you Dragonfly - just what was needed! All dressed up in black and white ready for choir but too early! Why am I always early?! ?
Chocolate cake - thank you!!
Ann, I'm glad you are feeling better but please take it easy. I had a thing like you had and have just managed to stop having to sit down in the afternoon. It's exhausting.
soop, photos please.
Sorry to hear you are suffering from a type of postcode lottery Panache. We have people on the Alzheimer's course who live in the city but go to a GP in the county and get into a right muddle with what services they can access. And, in fact, when Dh worked for the NHS on a domiciliary basis we used to joke that he would get taken prisoner and shot if he crossed the county line.
I've wondered about Izabella, too. I hope she is ok.
And, I'd like to hear from the syns.
This might make you all smile.
DD3 took Bertie and Persie swimming and then drove around a bit to allow Wolfie to sleep a while - something he doesn't like to do at night!!
Bertie and Persie moaned about not going straight home so DD, near the end of her tether, said that she was trying to do her best for everyone, look after Wolfie, take them for swimming lessons, cook their tea, look after Daddy, do the washing etc etc.
Bertie and Persie went very quite and DD thought they were reflecting on her words. They were. Persie announced 'Well, I'm doing to tell my bedtime duckie what you said and she will not be impressed with your attitude!'

YOA!!
Not YOA but TOYA
It did indeed kitty, that girl will go far!!
I am waiting for the result Soop!!!
Well worth waiting for let me say!!!
