The percentage of succesful appeals indicates that the whole system of assessment is wrong. Even if one looks at it from a financial point, it doesn't work, let alone the emotional damage and stress it causes people. Disgusting system and we are so proud of your for beating it. Very well done. We need more people like you.

Well done GA! I know what claiming PIP is like; I was lucky in that I turned up with irrefutable evidence including a self-discharge letter from hospital dated that day and marked by the doctor that I had pneumonia and due to COPD, should be on a CPAP machine, not in an interview. There was a DNR form similarly dated and I had an epileptic fit in the waiting room...may e lucky isn't quite the right word. But I know how their system works and it IS grossly unfair. Glad you won.

Grannyactivist, you are a star. This benefits shambles is so stressful, not only for the applicant, but also the family who've been supporting them and possibly little ones, financially since the benefits were cut. Well done to all who find the time and energy to fight these DWP disasters.

The system is completely stacked against people with little or no support and genuinely seems to me to heartless - except when a judge, a doctor and a disabilities advisor demonstrate both common sense and compassion to overturn decisions that are just plain wrong. I am very grateful to them.

It's good to learn that at least one person has stood up to this unfair system. Well done. This nonsense has been going on since before 1990, I know because I had to work while at the same time look after my terminally ill H as he'd been turned down for any financial help !?
Since then it's left me so very bitter because at the time I was too exhausted to fight plus I wasn't conversant with appeals etc.
I applaud anyone who can get past those who know nothing whatsoever of the circumstances in which some people have to try and manage. What do they know ??
