I think it's called Expert Procrastination, charley. Having come downstairs this morning all willing and let's move the fridge, his this weekend's allotted effort in the decorating department was all used up. I'm not getting my hopes up for next weekend.

On a personal note, DGH (who is quite severely disabled) has been diagnosed with colitis. As there is no cure, they will try to control it. Fortunately she is a very happy child, and copes amazingly well.

Today I have finally understood MrBaggs's working pattern when it comes to home decorating: it is geological in time scale. He asked me to help him move the fridge (again) today so he could get at the wall behind it. My hopes of progress went up, only to be quietly disappointed: he will start work on the wall, perhaps, next weekend. I've forgotten how long it has taken to get to that bit of wall—several geological eras anyhow. Hey ho.

I shall comfort myself with an almond and marmalade shortbread snadwich (sic). I made them this morning. Dig in, peeps. Mr Baggs isn't allowed to have any.

The black cat visited after dark. He/she ate a full bowl of the best quality feline dry food, took a long drink, cleaned whiskers and scooted back into the forest. We were thrilled to bits. Doesn't take much to put a on our faces.

Oh, ann, I can barely begin to imagine the stressful incident that happened in the early hours. Poor Molly and poor ann ...I'm willing to bet that you won't be forgetting to lock the cat flap from hereon.

I woke up with a sore throat this morning and grumbled about having DH’s cold, from which he seems to have recovered. “You should have a couple of days in bed, like I did”, says he. I told him only men do that, and anyway, if I take to my bed, there won’t be anything nice to eat! That scared him, so I am not having a couple of days in bed! (The very idea!). It scared me too, as he only knows how to make cheese sandwiches, beans on toast, and boiled eggs! And industrial quantities of soup!

GS and his minders were supposed to be coming to lunch today but have cancelled due to his partying and DD’s running commitments. It will be roast pork for two, then, and I am deeply disappointed as he is such an appreciative diner!

It has been raining steadily here all day but we are not, thus far, being blown from here to Hathersage by Freya! Good name for a storm. GS had a friend in his class at junior school called Freya. Blonde, elfin, but likewise a force to be reckoned with!?

Really bad night , I didn't lock the cat flap carefully last night and was woken to a cat fight in the hall at 4:30am.
Suffice it to say it took me well over an hour to get the invader out.
It broke two vertical blinds and scattered ornaments off window sills before I cornered it in the conservatory and got it out of the door.
Molly won't leave my side today and I came back to bed after lunch, I was so tired.

Thanks, everyone, for your sympathy. At the moment I look as if I have badly mis-applied some purple eye shadow. Alternatively, Frankenstein's monster. However, the initial muzziness has worn off and I will be able to go down to the optician tomorrow to see if my slightly bent glasses' frame can be fixed. I'm making do with an older pair which still works for me.

Anno that sounds quite a tumble. I did the same some time ago but fell off my bike so I now have a rakish scar in my left eyebrow! They would not let me alone with my husband in the hospital - I think they thought he was the cause!!

Indeed that trip was quite a big buggeration I would say Anno and I am so sorry,it would seem you really have something to show for your unplanned "trip" plus probably something of a longer term scar, but thank goodness it was not even worse.
Plus it is always heartwarming when you are shown such kindness and caring from strangers,it does help enormously and gives you that warm glow inside on thinking about it......... once the bigger trauma has settled.
Here`s hoping there will be no lasting damage.Concealers should help covering any scar.
