Always a warm hearted and uplifting welcome awaits and whatever your difficulties, you leave fully enrapped in the warmth of Soop`s Kitchen with a smile and hope in your heart.

Well I seem to have missed a right good shindig for the Panache’s. I don’t have much internet access at the moment and tbh have been rather down and feeling “why me” but life goes on. Having such a great amount of knowledge due to my professional training is not proving to be helpful to me. Being in warmth and in wonderful surroundings for a while is helping and my wonderful man now has a contact for an Alzheimer’s support worker so he can get help and support for me as and when I need it and my marbles slip slowly away. So annaleise and anyone else struggling posting this in the safety of the kitchen is ok if only to let off steam and feel sorry for ourselves ?

soop so pleased you have navigated this far in your treatment plan and you know I think of you and other kitcheners often

I cannot bring cakexat the moment but am happy to donate a coconut with added rum. Please bring your own straws! Will try and post a picture later

N&G that is so sad for your granddaughter. You just want to go to the school and sit with her to keep her company.

Seriously has Jackson got mildly brittle bones or is the young man accident prone?

Re missing a Butler in the Buff- I would look no further than Swanny- she would not say yesterday who she had woken up in bed beside- too coy about it- definitely up to no good.

I washed Tara's bedding yesterday, made up her bed before I went to bed and she would not even go into the room- she spent the night sleeping on a rug outside the bathroom.

I bought her a new duvet cover for under £10 from A****n yesterday evening so she will probably move house! She was not happy with my bedding either because it had also been changed.

Charleygirl5 Wed 06-Mar-19 11:47:02

callgirl I sent condolences earlier but they just vanished. I only hope that your nephew did not suffer- it appeared to happen very quickly.

Izabella Wed 06-Mar-19 11:52:45

A crowded beach. Safe swimming and warmth

Izabella Wed 06-Mar-19 11:54:40

Call girl apologies. I missed your sad post. My thoughts are with you

annsixty Wed 06-Mar-19 12:12:13

N&G I have been there and done that with my own GD, it is horrid for them and everyone who loves them.
It passes eventually but oh how miserable it is.
Just back from visiting my H, he is not well, seems to be fading slowly, very weak voice and unable to get out of a chair without a lot of help.
I know I could not have made any other decision but the one I did make but how I wish things were different.
I am sure that is a wish we all make regularly.

annsixty Wed 06-Mar-19 12:14:03

Izabella that location looks wonderful, I trust there is lots of rum punch in that coconut shell.

Panache Wed 06-Mar-19 12:27:41

As usual our Kitchen is filled with such a lot of differing emotions but what a retreat it really is,the sharing of one`s fears and heartaches does help....... and I am the first to admit it.

Firstly a warm welcome back to where you belong dear Soop, you have certainly earned a few PJ days with your Macsporran`s special pampering, not to say a get together surrounded by all your loved ones is surely the best tonic on earth........... and NOT found on our NHS!!
With you all the way Soop

Methinks perhaps our Maw is the next candidate for some banners, balloons and another shindig........come on Maw don`t be shy, share your birth date!!

Great news from you re your husband`s bladder cancer being totally incised Kitty, one big sigh of relief for that; though of course, now nose down to attack the darn prostrate problem........however hopefully you can deal with this in a better frame of mind.

Very sad news Callgirl and something you could well have done without whilst so caught up with your own son, and his unpleasant issues.Sending you a bouquet of love.flowers

Always good to hear from you Izabella,a shame you missed out on my birthday shindig because it certainly was aimed to erase all our troubles... for at least a while!
Your dear man seems to have truly got to the root of those helping hands that maybe needed later.
Still I can well understand you need peace of mind and time to come to terms with your diagnoses, and hopefully, it is helping
.Although I well know about being too informed about certain things which does not exactly help.
What a healing view............let it seep deeply through every area of your being.
Again sending you love and showers of blessings.

Anneliese 63 Indeed I know only too well how difficult these Hospital appointments can be regarding the long waiting periods, difficult and expensive parking.......even before you are seen by those attending to your case!
Wishing your husband well in all these varied tests and a problem obviously rather difficult to diagnose,it simply is a case of holding on tight and wading through it!
Not easy at all.

Oh! dear as for you N & G....your poor Jackson is again in the wars, how unlucky is he? Whilst your young GD is struggling badly, and of course at a difficult age, sometimes life can be so cruel.
As for facing a new H/D I did that weeks ago after having enjoyed some 20+ years with my previous one,now a friend, but too far away in our situation nowadays.
I was seriously romped and not in exactly the way expected so yes,I understand your nervousness...........and wish you well.

I have a feeling there maybe a letter of complaint winging its way through the post.......of course I am talking about Tara and her new duvet cover...........beginning to understand exactly how particular she can be Charleygirl............could we be expecting a lodger?

Having taken time out to share with you will mean I shall really have to don my skates if I am to be ready for my transport taking me to Hospital.........yes first my own appointment and then spending some time with my dearest...........he seems to be slowly recovering yet again and I can but keep my fingers crossed.

At the moment our would be purchasers have gone to ground...........even our Estate agent cannot track them down, so of course we are all in a state of flux...........awaiting to hear what next.

With that on rather a damp and drear day I love and leave you all, sending oodles of love to those truly struggling...........to those hale and hearty...........have a good day.Keep smiling through.

Izabella the beach looks perfect. I do hope you are enjoying the time you have there. I live for an hour at a time, day at a time just to make sure I am getting the most out of the time I have.

N&G my own daughter had the same experience at school. One day she said to me that she would rather have no friends than the ones she had. It made me and her teachers sad but she came out the other end much stronger. Unfortunately life is a learning curve and is very cruel sometimes. Strangely you only find this situation with girls.

Ann what can I say. Of course you wish the situation was different but you know you are doing the best for you DH. To a lesser extent I have the same with my Mum. I am now a stranger to her but I make sure she is kept clean and cared for. It is the most I can do. Take comfort from all the years you had together before this cruel disease struck.

Susan56 Wed 06-Mar-19 13:01:07

N&G,my daughter too had the same experience at school that your dear granddaughter is now going through. It is such a difficult time and so hard for her.She has a strong family in you all and strong family support is what will get her through. She will emerge a stronger girl from the experience and I hope the situation improves for her very soon.Sending her and you all love and strength??

Greyduster Wed 06-Mar-19 13:35:31

Izabella perleese!!!! It is chucking it down and cold here! Seriously, I’m glad you are enjoying your lovely surroundings. I remember miles of beaches in Malaya where the only people present were the odd local fisherman, me, Himself and the bab. Warm sea and coconut palms. Idyllic.

N&G poor Jackson. He must be really fed up about that. Hope it’s not his dominant hand! As for your DGD, I can’t tell you how sad that makes me. The only thing I can say is that I hope the school are on her case and don’t just pay lip service to this sort of thing. It is something that most parents dread I’m sure.

Ann, I’m sorry your DH has had a downturn. You must hang on to the thought that everything you have done for him has been the best it was in your power to do. I hope there will be an improvement in his condition {{hugs}}

Weather is horrid here so no chance of much time outdoors. My cold has just about disappeared so at least I get to see GS tomorrow after school. Can’t wait!

I will look in later.

Doodle Wed 06-Mar-19 14:32:51

Glad your safely home soop some TLC is needed I think ?
callgirl sorry to hear the sad news about your nephew.
kitty glad to hear your DH’s results are good.?
n&g so sorry your DGD has this problem at school. Bullying of any kind is abhorrent. Can her parents talk to the school and get some advice as to how to handle this also are there any lunchtime groups she can join where perhaps she won’t be on her own. Does she have friends outside school? Joining other activities may help. I do so feel for you all. Please let us know how she gets on poor girl
izabella what a beautiful place. Just the sort of peace you need at the minute I think.
ann sorry to hear your DH is not so good. You have done the right thing but I can understand why you wish things hadn’t turned out as they have.

soop Wed 06-Mar-19 15:06:04

N&G My heart goes out to your dear granddaughter. Being bullied is about the worst thing that can happen at her age. As you so rightly say, if only we could fix it. We surely would.
Master Jackson Us lot send good healing vibes. Do take extra special care whilst your finger is healing. We do care about you. smile

callgirl1 Sorry to hear of your sad news. If only good wishes could heal all ills. We would send them in an instant.

More hopeful news regarding your husband's prostate cancer. It is the prognosis we all wish for each other.

The following image shows the breast that has a serious tuck in it. The tuck that alerted the GP to Cancer. It's worth knowing what to look out for. That's why I'm sharing.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 06-Mar-19 15:07:11

Condolences call girl ?

N & G our GC has been in your GDs position, not nice to witness but hopefully it will be better soon.

Soop, good you are home safe and sound, sooner your op, sooner you will be recovered ?

Apologise to those who I have missed - sending love and leaving cookies on the side ?????

GrannyGravy13 Wed 06-Mar-19 15:29:02

Soop thank you for sharing you are a very kind and selfless lady ????

Grannynise Wed 06-Mar-19 15:58:31

Thank you Soop.

Nannytopsy Wed 06-Mar-19 16:20:17

Thanks Soop and GG, for different reasons. Swanny unlock that door now and let the butler out!

Greyduster Wed 06-Mar-19 16:27:20

It’s very brave of you to share that with us, Soop and thank you. Now, GO AND ENJOY YOURSELF WITH YOUR FAMILY!! That’s an order!

Swanny Wed 06-Mar-19 16:28:35

callgirl condolences to you and your family on the death of your nephew, so sudden.

ann you did as much as you could and probably more than you should have for your H. Time to look after yourself now (and Molly smile)

soop those photos emphasise what a very kind and thoughtful person you are. Hope you have a wonderful weekend with the family and come back relaxed and refreshed for the weeks to come flowers

N&G and charleygirl sorry - didn't realise I was supposed to send the butler back. I was enjoying being pampered blush

Thanks to everyone who visits the kitchen for making it such a wonderful place to share our troubles and our joys. My life is certainly the richer for having met you lot flowers

Charleygirl5 Wed 06-Mar-19 16:43:17

I agree, ann you did all that you possibly could for H and you are still doing it- visiting him regularly and attending to his needs when you are there.

Molly is loving her new home and I would think she is blessing every day she has stayed there. You are great company for each other as Tara and I are.

Swanny were all of the shenanigans worth it- considering how inebriated you were? Admittedly you had yesterday to recover- my mind boggles at the antics but I will draw a veil over that. I think you will need an escort, female at the next party.

Izabella what a superb place- so peaceful to spend reflecting. Words cannot express how you must feel at present.

soop Wed 06-Mar-19 17:24:38

Right, you lovely lot, apart from doing my pal's ironing, I've just brought ours to an end. Basket empty. Joy of joys. wink

Now, I'm away to attempt to sort out the blasted buggeration of a kindle. I do NOT want/need/expect apps. I simply wish to be left in peace to catch up with family and friends. Surely, not too much to ask. I'm a simple soul. Easily pleased. I prefer to be left alone with a basic tablet and enjoy the companionship of folk (like yourselves) without constantly being interrupted.

If I crack it, I shall tell you all about my so-called success. If not, watch out for a Kindle making it's way to Mars. I'm fast running out of patience.

Thing is...I've been told that patients on the breast cancer ward, may use their tablets. This would please me enormously during the post-op period.

I shall report back in due course. Take good care of yourselves. You all matter...smile moon

annsixty Wed 06-Mar-19 17:44:02

All good wishes soop firstly with the kindle and secondly just because you are you.
I didn't mention before that I got punched in the face, fortunately I moved quickly, by a residentof the care home this morning.
The staff were very apologetic and concerned but I was fine with it.
The lady in question is very old, very tiny but very difficult.
When she is ok we chat but she was having none of it this morning.
She does upset the other residents with her constant shouting and this morning for the first time forme at least she was swearing away.
She wanted to go home to her mother.
I fear she will have to be moved to another home better suited to her needs, it is so sad and so depressing.
I really don't want to go down that road for myself or anyone I know, including my DH.

callgirl1 Wed 06-Mar-19 18:49:53

Thank you everyone. My nephew had apparently been ill for quite some time, but my SIL didn`t tell us over here until the weekend, when she texted my daughter, who told me on Monday. I know he was 61, but to me he`ll always be the lad he was last time I saw him.
Lovely to hear your news re your husbands op result Kitty, hopefully the prostate problem will also get sorted. My son is still at status quo, waiting to see the oncologist next Monday, but trying to stay positive. He lost a hell of a lot of weight due to losing his appetite, but is now eating again, he scoffed half a packet of chocolate digestives here the other day!
Poor Jackson, you couldn`t make it up, could you?
Soop, you are a very brave lady for sharing your pics, now go and have a rip roaring time with your family, you deserve it. You will be in all our thoughts for the foreseeable future. My son sends his love as well, he still remembers meeting you 2 years ago.
Panache, I hope your buyer surfaces soon.
Ann, you`ve done your very best for your husband, no one could have done more. I hope he`s feeling a little better next time you visit, and that someone keeps an eye on the fisticuffs lady, poor thing. My daughter has to contend with the occasional violent spat from her husband, who has dementia, he doesn`t even know who she is these days.
Sorry to all those I`ve missed, my memory isn`t good anymore, I`ve read everything, but can`t remember it all!

Doodle Wed 06-Mar-19 18:51:19

soop I have always thought that you were an amazing person. Your sharing of those photos to help others - well I am stunned. You are the best soop. I hope the operation and treatment all go well. You really are something special. ?

dragonfly46 Wed 06-Mar-19 19:39:14

Feeling quite emotional this evening. What a lovely lot you all are, I am so pleased I found you. It is all down to soop who has provided us with a safe haven.
