Mahdi Hashi came to the UK from Somalia when he was five with his parents. The family were granted asylum and subsequently became British citizens. Stripped of British citizenship in 2012.

Bilal al-Berjawi was born in Lebanon and grew up in St John’s Wood. He was stripped of British citizenship in 2010.

Mohamed Sakr was born and brought up in London. He was stripped of British citizenship in 2009.

At present she has not Bangladeshi citizenship and they have said she will not be given it. So she is stateless.

Blaming one young woman living in a refugee camp for every atrocity committed by every terrorist may make you feel better but it does absolutely nothing to honour victims or to protect anyone in the future. Indeed it may radicalise others who will regard her as a victim of western oppression.

EllanVannin - why would any of us be persuaded to support the removal of citizenship because a father who left his wife and children to start another family in Bangkadesh, says he agrees that’s the right course of action.
There is ‘law’ to be made in response to Savid Javid’s decision. That much is obvious and whatever the outcome of the various court hearings that follow, at least we will be clearer about the legality, or otherwise, of breaching international law.
We wouldn’t want to become a dictatorship.
