You could always by a soft toy - toy dog and go for a walk with it tucked under your arm.

Or take M0nica's suggestion a bit further. Buy a tiny soft toy dog and put it in your jacket pocket so that you would have your hands free, but could still produce the dog if anyone challenged you for wearing the jacket illegally.

You should probably turn round smartly and head in the opposite direction if you see a real dog-walker coming though.

I have decided to brazen it out and if challenged I will say I have had to leave Fido at home as he appears to be starting with a cold.

If challenged you ask the person what is wrong with them that they can't see the dog - should they go to that opticians perhaps?

I should not worry - I wear clothes from a range that's advertised more for very hardy going up mountain types....I'm not into mountains, but the clothes are practical, wear and wash very well and have very useful secret pockets!

I am spending a lot of time in comfy trainers, and sometimes wonder what I should be training for. Do I loaf when I wear my favourite loafers?
