Meant to say on GM Monday that I mentioned dreich and peelywalla (sorry forgotten spelling) to DH and him having had a Glaswegian father, immediately knew what they meant and has been coaching me in the pronunciation. I shall be dropping them into the conversation from time to time. ?

Methinks do what you like is appropriate. Maybe change it to good afternoon though?! I think we're ua friendly harmless lot in the main.

Hello Gransnetters I must ask is there a time limit for writing to Mick, I dont get up as early as most on here, and before I read GN it is afternoon, is it too late to write about the day after midday?

Morning all! Bright but watery sunshine where I am but a 'mild' 6 degrees. Have been gutting, redesigning and painting a walk-in cupboard for the past couple of months. Rotten job and, yes, I'm a slow worker! However, it's done and I'm SO relieved. Next pleasure is to place items in there at my leisure. I'm so easily pleased.

The fridge shelf had broken yet again when we opened it this morning. We are sending for two replacements from eSpares this time as they only last for about six months. Doh!

Good morning all. Feeling pretty miserable and unwell today so I've taken to my bed while all the old/ new kitchen bangs on around me. I hope one day of rest brings enough recovery and relief as I just have too much to do.

Calm quiet and damp but nowhere near as cold as it was.
A blue balloon on a string greeted me in the garden this morning so I draped it on the fir tree outside my patio door, but the cats aren't keen. I'd be interested to know where it floated from--------new baby boy,perhaps ? A little boy's birthday ?

Have some phoning to do today so have had to list them then I won't forget.

Our valley is misty this morning, no frost, and the heron is back in the pond now the ice has gone. Out for a haircut this morning and a shop, then back to do some work on the computer and, I hope, have time to read my book. DH making model railways.

I’m sat in DD2 & SiL’s house as they are both out at work and the electricity board need to do some urgent maintenance work to the meter box. I’ve got my iPad, a good book and a cuppa so I’m happy however long this takes - drilling and banging away!

Good morning all from a slightly frosty Aberdeenshire, tho' it's a great deal milder and overcast.
There are currently three helicopters bumbling out to the North Sea, noisy lot!
The new garden fence looks great but my poor plants have been ground into the mud. Hopefully, they have survived underground and will peep through in the Spring.
Thinking of you dragonflies...Been there, done it and I hope all goes well.
