Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark cold and frosty out here in the centre of brackley the snow as all but gone.
I am hoping to do my usual day out, with buses running to where I go in Buckingham ,and onwards to Bicester.

Rufus is also the Latin name for a Kangaroo
Mick; Good Evening! This is a surprise. I've been trying to have a chat with you for ages; hope everything is back to normal after your WIN10 excitement. I've no idea who or what Brian Cox is; an Aussie naturalist?: but I can beat that 9metre leap easily after visiting the "Rufus" bar here in Melb. Google www.rufusbar.com.au/wp-content and see what I mean! grin

Rufus is also the Latin name for a .Kangaroo
Mick; I've messed up my reply, but look in Good Morning Sunday.
Cheers

Sorry the irony of the source
Is that what you call it? That would be the last thing I expected from you! grin

kittylester Mon 04-Feb-19 07:36:38

Do you mean 'Neighbours' isn't a documentary? shock

Rufus is also the Latin name for a Kangaroo, which can leap 9 metres and cover over 50km a day , according to Brian Cox on BBC4.

Sorry the irony of the source my "encyclopaedic " knowledge of all things Australasian went over your head Rufus -
I had realised Neighbours was a soap hmm

Rufus2 Mon 04-Feb-19 05:26:43

From my encyclopaedic knowledge of all things
Maw; then you should know that language (excluding Latin) is a living entity. That's why I feel comfortable with adapting words or phrases to suit my purposes on whatever occasions. I choose "sickie' as an Aussie shorthand address to all who are feeling unwell; what you are referring to are "bludgers"! If you could pay me the courtesy of not implying I"m always being malicious I'd appreciate it.
That's another one you can snitch about to HO for deletion. grin
Btw; "Neighbours is an Aussie "soap", so not exactly an ideal source for "all things". OoRoo

Well he has an odd sense of humour wink

NanKate Sat 02-Feb-19 22:51:11

It’s a mystery to me Maw.

MawBroon Sat 02-Feb-19 17:50:59

Not quite sure why Rufus refers to us in the Northern Hemisphere as “sickies”? (8.48 am)
From my encyclopaedic knowledge of all things Australian, gleaned from the DDs watching Neighbours in their teens, a “sickie” is something you “throw “ when you want to skive off work! confused

Good afternoon, everyone.

I didn’t have time to post this morning as I had to go out early for a hairdresser appointment.

No snow in our village today, just a keen frost first thing, but a mile or so down the road there was a covering. Strange how it can differ so much by just few miles.

Hello and welcome Geryfelin. I hope you are going to enjoy GN.

Susan56 Sat 02-Feb-19 14:53:13

Thank you for the lovely messages on our happy news.xx

NanKate Sat 02-Feb-19 10:11:02

Happy new beginnings Susan ?

A Happy Birthday to your DD Kitty. You must have been a child bride ?

DH says the roads are ok for us to go to the theatre tonight to see ‘Sun Records The Concert’. I bet Mick has seen it.

Good morning from east London where the sun is shining and the field outside is green. No plans for the day although a leg stretch will be fitted in.

EllanVannin Sat 02-Feb-19 10:03:07

Good morning All x
A lovely bright sunny morning in Wirral----no snow for us and the sun is strong enough to melt away the residues of the odd icy patches which were left at the beginning of the week. It's just delightful out. That sun is so warm !

Tissues for MaryDoll when she watches War Horse !

Stay safe those of you who got the worst of the weather.

Auntieflo Sat 02-Feb-19 09:41:17

Morning Michael, Annie, and all. The sun is shining and the sky is blue, and no more snow overnight, but it is probably icy outside.
Yesterday, the two little girls opposite, built a very handsome snowman, with the help of their dad. Unfortunately he( the snowman) toppled over in the afternoon, but they and their friends had a fierce snowball fight.
We were going to our usual coffee morning today, but it is closed until Tuesday ?.
I have been trying to get through to Boots, to see if my prescriptions are on order, as the last two months were completely messed up. They are not answering the phones!!
Have a safe weekend one and all.

Good morning everyone. It's very frosty but bright in Northampton and will venture out later to Sainsbury's once everything starts thawing out a bit.

Decided against shopping trip yesterday, so stayed in and made a large batch of soup in the pressure cooker.

All our snow had gone by lunchtime yesterday, so had an uneventful walk to pick the DGDs up from school.

Take care today everyone.

Kaggi60 Sat 02-Feb-19 09:32:02

Very frosty morning from the West Midlands hope have a nice weekend.

Sallyann51 Sat 02-Feb-19 09:26:54

Hello everyone
Cold and frosty here in Surrey this morning, but no snow thank goodness. Pottering today, hopefully get lots of odd jobs done.
Friends birthday dinner tonight
Hope you all have a good a day as possible

Sar53 Sat 02-Feb-19 09:25:06

Good morning everyone from a bright Essex by the sea, so much nicer than the torrential rain we had all day yesterday. Off out for breakfast once I've had a shower then to help other grandparents with 20 month old twins this afternoon. Their parents are away skiing til tomorrow. Looks icy outside, take care everyone.

Annapops Sat 02-Feb-19 09:19:39

Morning all from County Durham.

No kitchen delivery yesterday as the van couldn't get down the snowy bank to our house.
Still more of the white stuff fell last night so DH off with his shovel on a mission.
We will need to get the car moving for me to catch the train to Stirling this evening as DGD1 is dancing in The Nutcracker there on Sunday. It will be lovely watching her and spending some time with DD2 who will still be recovering from her school's Ofsted inspection. I'm pleased to say all went well.
Take care all you who are out and about today.

GrannyIris5 Sat 02-Feb-19 09:17:39

Morning all. Very exciting, the postcode lottery is our local area. Daughter and plenty of others off to Harefield today to find out how much they’ve won.

farview Sat 02-Feb-19 09:15:17

Welcome to you Geryfelin ..?

TerriBull Sat 02-Feb-19 09:13:36

Good morning from a sunny but very cold south east. Thankfully we haven't had any more snow.

Grandson aged 4 stayed last night and we were woken this morning to the sound of his cars whizzing around a track, a late Christmas present from his uncle and girlfriend, the batteries will surely be worn out by the end of the day. I've bought him new welly boots so shall probably venture out in those later today. Other than keeping him amused, not a lot planned for today.

Anniebach Sat 02-Feb-19 09:10:06

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Hope everyone has a good day x
