contain goodies that you will find useful Rufus?
Glammanana; Don't know yet! I've taken several photos for the family album. grin It's still wrapped up, but through the cellophane I can make out one bottle, (of red, I think), choccies, biscuits and a jar of yellow Yankee Candle, which Google tells me is the "pioneer of decadent fragrances"! shockNow where can I light that up to my best advantage? blush

We have dined out many times at the RSL club! I never won a raffle though.

Steer clear of those retirement villages Rufus - they're full of old ladies!
Actually, I was rather taken with the flat our elderly relative lived in and quite fancied putting my name down for one but then I may not pass the permanent visa requirements these days grin

I won a hamper at an RSL club when I was staying with my daughter. It was a meat one and full of different cuts of a variety of meats. I earned my keep that week !

Keep out of one of those places with all the old people Rufus ?and stay in your own place with your resident Maggies.
Hope it's not too hot for you! It's lovely all cool here with 3" of snow. You don't know what you're missing. ?

Rufus; Two more good news stories!
1. With these 36+C temps my (almost) resident family of maggies are walking around with their beaks gaping. They still turn up every morning warbling away and the heat hasn't dulled their appetites: one chick in particular is still running after a parent to have food shoved down its throat, but I've also seen it feed itself, standing on a piece of bread or a sausage! Their bird bath also needs regular attention; it's quite deep and comical to see them one at a time splashing every where. Ice isn't a problem! Fred, Freda and chicos. I don't know who's who, but I love them all!
2. Went to a presentation by a law firm on Wed. on Powers of Attorney etc
at a Sir Weary Dunlop retirement "village".! 4 storeys and full! And now a Dame Nellie Melba look-alike barely a km. away. We're getting crowded out with "Oldies" and they're not all geriatrics either!
I won the hamper raffle prize !!! grin But no way will I go into one. They'll have to carry me out in a box.
It's nearly 9.30pm and feels like 30+ out there. Cheers; thanks for your patience!

Does Legend tours still operate their factory shopping
Ellan; Do they ever!? A quick internet look was full of details; $39: has to be minimum of 20. Tripadvisor appears to be in there too.

Does Legend tours still operate their factory shopping trips around the cities ? Lunch thrown in with the price.
When I was staying in Sydney I made sure I booked one or two then used to spend too much sad

Well you could have dined out on the stories of the woman running off with you for the rest of your long life You missed a trick there but you’re right I realised lately how doubting and a bit cynical I had become and need to pull myself up and trust a bit more

My admiration of people has been enhanced.
Yesterday was our regular fortnightly Council bus trip to a local shopping centre where I borrow a free electric mobility scooter to get around. Love it: cruising in and out of shops, getting in everyone's way; payback time!grin
Unfortunately it has to be returned to the concierge later after knees have seized up, but as I hobbled all of 100metres to the bus pick-up point carrying 2 bags of shopping a lady offered to carry them for me and I was very grateful. On the way she said she lived close by with husband and 3 grandchildren who she was caring for as their parents were on drugs; had done it for 8 years! Otherwise they would have been ''placed"somewhere"
When I recounted this to Bob, our bus driver, he warned she could have run off with my shopping! I ask you! How cynical! An OAPs ham and bacon rolls and a carton of coffee! If a lady dropped the shopping and ran off with me, well that would be a bit different. grin But I do meet many nice helpful people on these trips.
