Good afternoon everyone. Marvellous day here in Denmark, frost, sun and snow, but pension day! Plus the extra allowance paid annually to all of us who don't have lots of lovely lolly we don't need to use in the bank.

So we can treat ourselves to some much needed things there usually isn't money for.

I got a really good bargain too on something as useful if not exactly exciting as washing powder and bath soap, We're all set for the next six month's use of both.

Not me you insulted Rufus but Mick and every other member of GN who has expressed concern about another member , irrespective of gender.

Rufus2 Thu 31-Jan-19 12:21:10

It’s not me you’ve offended
Maw; Thank you! Now I understand. wink

Good morning from South Staffordshire- a cold frosty and misty start to the day but sun is trying to break through

Nothing interesting today just a trip to Lidl and then Pets at home for some cat litter which are more or less round the corner

Maybe treat myself to a Portuguese custard tart at Lidl if there are any left as they are very popular

MawBroon Thu 31-Jan-19 11:37:32

confused
It’s not me you’ve offended.

A bit personal Rufus
Maw; Terribly sorry if I've offended you! shock HQ had graciously given me their reason for deletion without resorting to personal abuse.

Woke to everything white with frost here in Devon, had hail/rain which has cleared frost, very windy & promise of snow?? later. Dartmoor has lots of snow just hasn't reached me yet!! May go out later, stay safe all who have to venture out

Urmstongran Thu 31-Jan-19 11:20:56

Good morning everybody. Sunny but chilly here in South Manchester. Just back from the doctor’s surgery - a discussion after MOT blood tests. Happily no concerns - just to crack on with weight loss!

MawBroon Thu 31-Jan-19 10:57:16

A bit personal Rufus and dare I say, inappropriate?
In fact a bliddy cheek

Good morning from a glorious sunny, very cold east London. Just got back from my second swim of the year (pool very quiet), no sign of much salting on the pavements apart from the PO sorting office. No tennis today, I need to catchup on the safeguarding stuff from the LTA which requires all clubs to have a volunteer welfare officer. Skipping choir tonight to go to a Rocky Horror Show singalong in town. Maybe that's what I'm saving myself for. Have a good day.

Good Morning from a cold and frosty Black Country. Just back from the gym, it was -4 in the car at 7.15 this morning.

Meeting friends in Birmingham for lunch today. How I do love my Senior Travel Pass, which I can also use on the trains in the West Midlands smile

Exciting news Beechnut . Sorry about your DGS angelic I hope the appointment will get to the bottom of what is wrong. We worry about our children, then their children. It is never ending!

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning from a bright, frosty Aberdeenshire. It was -6 last night, so a tad chilly. Another trip to the dump, sorry, community recycling centre today. What joy! I love getting rid of stuff which has hung about for years in case it comes in handy one day.
Enjoy your day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning, harsh frost and -3 here. Really cosy as the heating is on 24/7.
Thinking of going to the coast for lunch but I am expecting two parcels, I am not sure they will be left if I go out.

Morning all from a very cold minus 7 but bright and sunny Hampshire.
Late start as Grandchild not happy at school and not wanting to go, we have an appt to go and see what’s going on later.
So sad seeing him unhappy and just wanting to keep him home safe from the outside world!
Take extra care all and have a safe day

Good morning everyone.

A bright sunny day in Kent but for now there is still a thick frost and my phone says -3°
I've just stripped the bed and will be pottering indoors.
Enjoy your days.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. As Maple says, it is foggy and pretty cold in South Yorkshire. The heating fired on the frost setting in the night. We will not be going very far this morning, but we have the school run this afternoon. I hope the roads are okay. Have a good day folks.

Auntieflo Thu 31-Jan-19 08:45:00

Good morning Michael, Annie and all. I had just written a post, but lost it, wish there was a 'save' button. Oh well.
I am not up yet, having my tea in bed, but looking out of the window it is sunny and bright with very frosty roofs opposite
A couple of day ago, part of the felt blew off our shed, so we are investigating repairs.
Probably staying in today keeping toasty, as we have plenty of food in fridge and freezers. Although we may need milk and bread soon-ish. (I am very tempted to buy a new breadmaker)
Keep warm and safe everyone.

A late good morning everyone- after a very restless night I finally nodded off when it was time to get up! No fog, just a very bright, sunny day with a hard frost in East Northants. I'm hoping the sun will thaw it enough for me to get to the shops. Two days indoors and I'm getting cabin fever! Stay safe and warm everyone.

mumofmadboys Thu 31-Jan-19 08:42:35

Cold in Cumbria. We are going walking with our U3A group today. About 7 miles low level walk but will need our microspikes! Then home for hot bath and bridge tonight.

Good Morning from Surrey. Frost on the grass and looking pretty in the sun. I won’t drive to supermarket until the rush hour/school runs calm down. I feel fortunate I can do this, but I will be picking up my little grand daughter later so will have to face the traffic then. She has lived abroad until recently and has never seen frost or snow!

Mapleleaf Thu 31-Jan-19 08:34:27

Good morning,
Here, too, we have thick frost and fog - though the fog has thinned a little in the last hour.
No plans today, so will just see what happens as the day unfolds.
I must venture into the garden though, and refill the feeders and put out some water for the birds as they've just about eaten everything, and the bird bath water is frozen solid.
Wrap up warm those of you venturing out later.
Hope today is a good day for you. ?

Harris27 Thu 31-Jan-19 08:33:38

Good morning from a cold and frosty north east freezing! Have to work later don't start till 11.30 so hopefully car may not need as much defrosting! Keep warm all!

Brunette10 Thu 31-Jan-19 08:27:33

Good morning all from a a very cold but bright Fife. Slept like a baby last night but was well needed. Have no plans today and I am quite glad of that, will take my time doing chores I need to do. For those under the weather and those who have snow take care. Hope everyone has a good day.

Annapops Thu 31-Jan-19 08:25:47

Hello everyone from County Durham.
A bitterly cold day ahead here but will be venturing out shortly for a "me time" shop which will probably involve a coffee stop.
Pilates was good yesterday so between that and yoga my aim is to build up more flexibility and strength during the year.
Work in the kitchen continues as it gradually becomes an empty space ready for the new units being delivered tomorrow afternoon.
The day will end with a visit to DD1 as it's her birthday, and as her husband works away, there will be no celebrating until the weekend.
Have a good day everyone and keep warm and safe.
