Good morning - chilly morning here in Florida this morning. A nice brisk beach walk will be nice though as long as I wrap up well!

Nanny41 Wed 30-Jan-19 13:27:52

Good afternoon all from Sweden which is now covered in nearly a foot of snow, today its cold but looks very pretty, with the sun out and snow glistening.

Such a late start today ( recovering from two days of DGC care). The early morning frost looks like it's starting to melt in the sunshine here in County Durham. A Pilates class for me today, first one ever, so shall see how I get on. DH busy constructing a new bird table so that should keep him busy for a while.
Thinking of all you people out and about in the snow and ice. Keep warm and stay safe.

Blue skies over a dusting of crisp snow and cold ...
driving down our lane is lethal but I have to go out to get my tooth fixed.... crown snapped off yesterday...

Lilyflower Wed 30-Jan-19 10:54:13

South Bucks is very sunny and has a light covering of snow from last night which is only melting under direct sunlight. It looks beautiful and the birds and animals are enjoying the brief respite from cold, dark and wind. Primroses and primulas are blooming and camellia buds are fattening up and beginning to unfurl.

So much for the natural world. Inside the DH is doing battle with Facebook and Apple who appear to have downloaded 200 or so iTunes without permission and will, without doubt, be wanting to charge us for them. He is speaking to a foreign lady in a far off land about it and has beeen on hold for 25 minutes now listening to an inane tune.

I expect trouble.

Good Evening Mick and all who prayed for our rain. It worked! Thunderstorms rolled in at 5.00pm; lots of rain, but still very warm at 9.20pm after 35+C and now humidity sky-high! Rather this than Cumbria weather which looked terrible on TV. England's answer to Siberia! Computer had Mick's syndrome earlier on, so I fell for the old 3-card trick, changed settings to no avail, then suddenly it all came together on it's own so had to remember how to back-track. I still need your advice on your recent exploits Mick. Cheers

Good morning, snow in Lancashire the garden is looking picturesque.
Have a good day everyone.

Bobdoesit Wed 30-Jan-19 10:07:55

Morning from Somerset, just a light dusting of snow here. I'm off to visit a neighbour but not looking forward to walking on slippery pavements.

Urmstongran Wed 30-Jan-19 09:54:31

Husband left home almost 2 hours ago to drive to the dealership which is less than 10 miles away. He has just phoned to say he is still on the A56 and is only about two thirds of the way there. Oh dear. And when he does get there he has to get a bus home ....

Good morning everyone from a cold and frosty Northampton. No sign of the snow.
Off out to the first meeting of a brand new book club this morning; never been to one before, so interested to find out who's going and how it works. Just a general chat this morning about our reading likes/dislikes.
My friend the steam cleaner came out to play yesterday, but I've now put her back in her place in the cupboard for a few weeks. Shan't miss her!
Have a good day everyone and take care if you're venturing out.

A late good morning all from a very cold SE Essex.

Good morning Anniebach x

We have a light dusting of snow which I think will disappear soon as the sky is blue and the sun is shining.

Nothing planned, as my back is still sore!!

Keep warm and safe folks.

oldgaijin Wed 30-Jan-19 09:15:56

Greetings all from a frosty Aberdeenshire...the sky is clear, no snow apart from the flurry we had at the weekend which is now a frozen crust.
Had no plans to go out today but my laptop is playing silly B's so shall have to get it sorted.
Have a safe and warm day everyone.

annsixty Wed 30-Jan-19 09:12:52

Good morning from a very white Stockport.
Buses not running on certain routes and most schools closed.
I was going out to lunch today but that is now off.
For anyone who knows the area and I can see that Alygran does, the restaurant is near Glossop so you can see why.

Marydoll Wed 30-Jan-19 09:11:54

Annie, you will find such a difference when you get your new windows. Your home will be much warmer.
My late mother initially wouldn't let the fitters in, nor central heating installers. (She only had a coal fire) After much discussion and attempts to persuade her, she eventually agreed and said it was the best decision SHE had ever made! smile

Anniebach Wed 30-Jan-19 09:04:31

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Had snow yesterday, no idea if it’s snowing now, still in bed.

Windows and doors measured, they will be fitted in about 6- 8 weeks.

Have therapy this morning.

Hope everyone has a good day x

Grammaretto Wed 30-Jan-19 09:03:24

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where we have a hard frost but it hasn't snowed much.
I've booked tickets to Celtic Connections in Glasgow this weekend, ever the optimist.
A little roe deer is in my front garden.
Have a peaceful day everyone.

EllanVannin Wed 30-Jan-19 08:54:41

Good morning All x

A bit of snow here but nothing to get excited about. As you'll see, I'm not a happy bunny this morning if you've read the " snowing " thread. It'll pass but I'll be tired later. Thank goodness I got my groceries yesterday or my mood would have been worse.

Workmen due any time so I'll have to do some more preparing so that they can get at where they're working.

Take care everyone, in case of ice more than anything.

Mythbirtthedragon Wed 30-Jan-19 08:54:28

Good morning from east London. Glorious bright sunshine in total contrast to last night's drenching sleet. Tennis this morning then a quiet pm or may go for a walk if the sun stays out.

Auntieflo Wed 30-Jan-19 08:45:30

Good morning Michael, Annie, and all from a cold, frosty, bright and sunny Berks.
DH has a Dr’s appointment this morning. I have nothing planned, but would like to pop into town later.
I made a marmalade cake yesterday, haven’t tried it yet, but it looks good.
Have a safe and warm day one and all.

Sar53 Wed 30-Jan-19 08:39:23

Good morning everyone from a very cold Essex by the sea. A light covering of snow on the cars this morning. I'm off to the doctors for an ECG soon then later to the local clinic for a blood test. I know how to live !!! Keep warm and safe.

Urmstongran Wed 30-Jan-19 08:32:48

Snow!! ⛄️
Morning everyone from South Manchester where we have a good couple of inches which came down in the night. Cars driving very slowly on the main road.
Husband had to go out to take the car into a booked appointment at the dealers. I’m sat up in bed with a second cuppa!

Mapleleaf Wed 30-Jan-19 08:31:55

Good morning,
A keen frost here, but unlike greyduster, no fine covering of snow. It looks as if it's going to be a bright, sunny day.
I've a few outside tasks to do today, then back to a nice warm house, I hope!
Take care, all. ?

Twin2 Wed 30-Jan-19 08:27:33

Good Morning. Snowy here in South Manchester and we don’t get it very often.

Take care out there
