Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but looks dry and frosty here in brackley , will do my usual day out to Buckingham and Bicester .
If the forecast is accurate tonight could see a downfall of snow ,and therefore disrupt plans for the rest of the week.
My 3 holiday breaks secured yesterday for later in the year, the person who does them was flooded with customers and queuing to be served , especially with a single room booking it was a case of an early book, as he has only so many slots of single rooms, no supplement by the way.
Mick

Maw if your father predeceased your mum he couldn’t have been at her funeral too?? Confused.com

BlueSapphire Tue 29-Jan-19 08:29:43

Hell everyone; dry and frosty in Northampton, but heavy rain forecast for this evening turning to snow. Will not be going out!
Cleaning day for me, bathroom needs doing, kitchen floor and change the bed. Really should stir myself and make a start but a cat has just made herself comfortable on my lap and she's lovely and warm!
Hope everyone has a good day.

MawBroon Tue 29-Jan-19 08:30:08

Duh! blush
Let’s try that again
“Mum predeceased my father...etc”

If I had a brain, I reckon I’d be dangerous grin

ninathenana Tue 29-Jan-19 08:30:38

Morning all.

Grey day in Kent. Food shop today, not much else planned. Sounds like coffee with a friend will be cancelled tomorrow due to the weather. As I would have to negotiate a notoriously bad steep hill. Shame, as we don't get together very often.
Be careful out there.

MawBroon Tue 29-Jan-19 08:31:17

Language! Bluesapphire ! grin

dragonfly46 Tue 29-Jan-19 08:34:17

Urmstongran Unfortunately dragonfly was already taken so had to add the year of my birth. Wish it was 48!
I could easily string the cleaner up as she is very nice but not the best cleaner and very heavy handed. Trouble is it is hard to get rid of her - she has been with me for years!

1inamillion Indeed a hard day for you and your DH but as Maw said in a way lucky they went together. My Mum still asks for my Dad although he died in the summer. Unfortunately she forgets so she asks over and over.

DoraMarr Tue 29-Jan-19 08:45:16

A very late good morning from Birmingham! I overslept this morning, so will have to get my skates on for my appointment! Dull but dry here.

Auntieflo Tue 29-Jan-19 08:47:04

Morning Michael, Annie and all. This mornings posts have made me laugh, with the odd mistakes here and there. (But I think I know what you mean)
Yesterday I had a busy day, DH joined in, so it wasn’t too bad, and we can make a good team.
This morning it is clear and still, but no doubt cold. Last night I popped out to put something in the bins, before today’s early collection, and it was quite beautiful. All sparkly with frost and glittering in the street lights.
Thoughts to all those who are not well, or having family sadness.

harrigran Tue 29-Jan-19 08:47:21

Good morning, cool and overcast here in the NE.
DH has a hospital appointment and I have to wait in for my medical supply delivery.
Hoping that the snow holds off as GD is at school in the city and it is a long drive home for her Mum.

kittylester Tue 29-Jan-19 08:51:27

Morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

Bits and bobs this morning then Alzheimer's course this pm. It's at the other side of Leicester so I hope to make it home through the snow.

I hope today goes well, 1inamillion

Greyduster Tue 29-Jan-19 09:06:18

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A clear start to the day but later it is due to snow. Some shopping to do so that will be done early (ish!) to beat the weather. I made two pies yesterday and I woke up this morning with the realisation that I had only taken one out - the other is still in there! Bin then!☹️ Have a good day folks.

NannyJan53 Tue 29-Jan-19 09:24:27

Good Morning from a grey and chilly Black Country.

Just back from the gym, had porridge now just having a coffee before cracking on with housework etc.

Thinking of you 1inamillion a sad day for you and your family flowers

Hoping Gagagran you will be feeling better and back with us soon.

Have a good day everyone.

Nelliemoser Tue 29-Jan-19 09:35:05

Good Morning All. It looks rather cold and damp in Cheshire.
Yesterday we had lovely sunshine the first in weeks. It was cold but manageable with enough clothing.

All I need now is to buy my bunches of Daffodils. Last weeks have gone over.
I need to have my spring daffodils in the house to feel human.

Mapleleaf Tue 29-Jan-19 10:02:29

Good morning, everyone.
A cold, grey morning here. Snow is forecast for this afternoon, mixed in with rain to start with, but heavier snow later (rush hour time, apparently). It needn’t bother on my account!
A few chores to do indoors and out this morning, then hope to settle down with my book, and also another perusal of GN, no doubt. ?
flowers 1inamillion - a difficult day ahead.
Glad to hear your trips are booked, Mick and that they are single supplement free. Something for you to look forward to.
Take care and keep warm, folks.

Morning all from a cold and frosty south Notts.
I've just finished making some fudgy chocolate squares for a party on Thursday - I like to be prepared.
Sister has texted to say that she won't be visiting today as she's got a bad cold which seems to have gone round all her family more than once this winter.
Hope all who are germ-laden feel better soon.

Nannytopsy Tue 29-Jan-19 10:24:25

flowers 1inamillion. They are together st the end which I think would be a good way to go. (As long as I wasn’t being sacrificed before my time grin)

Susan56 Tue 29-Jan-19 10:28:13

Good morning.Raining here today, snow forecast for later☹️Another day of sorting out and catching up on chores.Sending ?and thoughts to all who are ill or worried and to 1inamillion,I hope today goes as well as it can for you?

grannytotwins Tue 29-Jan-19 10:31:22

A little sun peeping through and 2c here in Kent. I had to leave my DH in hospital last night after nine hours in A&E. Terrifying drive home on narrow roads which hadn’t been gritted although -3c. Seventeen miles of almost country lanes since they closed A&E in Canterbury. I moan at his snuffing and snoring but couldn’t sleep without him. So tired and now have to go back as they want to send him home without doing the scans he went in for.

Harris27 Tue 29-Jan-19 10:47:46

Sorry to hear your sad day linamillion it's such a hard thing to face but two well.. Thinking of you X
Cold in Washington Tyne wear few flakes but nothing else just waiting... Day off today having coffee with friends as long as the white stuff stays away!!

Cambia Tue 29-Jan-19 11:08:10

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Icy morning walk revealed the first daffodil at the side of the road and snowdrops and aconites in the Wood. What a lovely start to the day. Came home to the log burner roaring up and the coal man delivering. Come on snow do your worst!

Mythbirtthedragon Tue 29-Jan-19 11:26:47

Good morning and I hope everyone's day goes as well as it can. Missing my tennis this morning - coach and play mixed group - as decided house matters need some attention. Will just have to face up to some dusting. Have just cleared up evidence of GD's visit yesterday; she'll probably complain when we pick her up later. Book club tonight - we've been reading Henry Marsh's 'Do no harm'. His honesty in it is alarming.

Urmstongran Tue 29-Jan-19 11:47:14

I loved ‘Do No Harm’ Mythbirtthedragon. I read it a couple of years ago and thought about it for ages afterwards.
In a similar vein (see what I did there?) have you read Paul Kalanithi ‘When Breath Becomes Air’. Even better IMO.

Urmstongran Tue 29-Jan-19 11:49:02

Sorry everyone, I probably should not have posted about books on this thread. I didn’t mean to hijack it! In future I will p.m. that kind of message. ?

Sallyann51 Tue 29-Jan-19 11:53:47

Hello all
Lovely sunny but chilly day here.
Been to Pilates this morning and now off to lunch with friends. Pub quiz tonight if it doesn’t snow. Hope you all have a good Tuesday
