Hopefully mu usual day going to Buckingham and Bicester using the buses despite threat of wintry showers.
Absence caused by my computer crashing, and having to have a new hard drive installed all done yesterday .

Stop stirring, Rufus!
Why do you persist in trying to derail this once pleasant thread?
Making a personal attack on a fellow gransnetter is not commendable at all.☹️

Psychologists would have a field day
Megs; Would you be interested in co-authoring a paper to the Aus. Assoc. of Psychology? They'd pay big bucks! grin

defending a person against unwarranted criticism or hostility?
Maw; where's your evidence to support your claim? confused
You remind me of the definition of a fanatic; "Someone who re-doubles their efforts even when they've lost sight of their initial objective!"
Something to think about when you toss and turn in your bed tonight. smile, but try and sleep well.
We've just emerged from 29C min o/nite and now bracing for 44C today! Please have pity on us! sad

Megs36 Thu 24-Jan-19 19:19:27

MawBroon Thu 24-Jan-19 19:04:29

confused
And your point is...?

Megs36 Thu 24-Jan-19 19:02:46

Wow, yes miss......

MawBroon Thu 24-Jan-19 19:01:20

Interesting how the 'holier than thou' posters manage to defend someone they have never met and jump on someone who criticises them

Is it? (interesting) hmm

Some of us on GN have met in RL, most have not.
Why should that preempt defending a person against unwarranted criticism or hostility?

Megs36 Thu 24-Jan-19 18:56:54

Why do I find myself feeling sorry for Teetime? I don’t even know her
Urmy; that's not very charitable especially coming from a Lancashire lass. Who's jealous now? You appear to be yet another misandrist after my guts!
Tut tut! Picking on an OBE; you should be ashamed of yourself. angry

Urmstongran Thu 24-Jan-19 13:17:15

Wonderful to hear your good news Myth (hope you don’t mind the chummy shortened name - I kept having to check and thinking the ‘ next part was ‘bird’ ... saw it was ‘birt’ and gave up!

Welcome back Mick hope the computer work hasn't left you too out of pocket.
Cold here in Notts. but there's a patch of blue sky.

Marydoll Thu 24-Jan-19 12:58:26

A very late good morning; maybe buenas Dias instead. I had to rush off to tennis this morning as got carried away reading a book. Thanks for the good wishes yesterday, it was a skipping day although I had to go steady given the slippery pavements.

fairisle Thu 24-Jan-19 12:15:34

Thanks also to the regulars here, especially Maw for standing up to the bullies and stirers
Nan; Careful! No names, no packdrill as Grumppa said. Maw is going to drop in on you any time now to correct your spelling. grin
So this marks the end of a lovely friendship! sad No trip to Knoll beach and sacked as your dance partner! Oh well; Teetime still has me on her dance card for the Valentine's Day Ball, I hope, so all is not lost! It's been nice knowing you.! sad

Having a lie in this morning only to be woken just after 8 by hubby. He'd slipped on ice whilst walking the dog and fallen backwards and cut his head. Luckily a nice couple helped him home. There was so much blood! Cleaned him up and thankfully only a 1cm cut and some grazes. Called NHS Helpline and they were so lovely , called us back within half an hour and they asked him loads of questions. Bleeding had stopped but hes to rest and no driving and I'm to keep watch for any other symptoms. Get downstairs to find dog has come out in sympathy and been sick all over conservatory floor! What a morning! Take care everyone out there its really icy here in Milton Keynes.

GrandmainOz Thu 24-Jan-19 11:02:07

And thanks for the welcome everyone
Goodnight from me and hope everyone gets through their day safely

Been here 13 yrs so we're fresh off the boat compared to you smile My youngest has a summer job as lifeguard at the outdoor pool. He's gonna earn his $$ tomorrow!! G'night

Morning all , mizzly rain and cold out , waiting for my sister to ring , and going out for lunch .
Nice to be back to normal with Mick at the helm smile

LJP1 Thu 24-Jan-19 10:24:03

Great to know you're back, Mick, and things are normal again.

Good luck with caching up with all the emails and with the buses today!

Damp and dismal here but a day of computing does not need good weather.

NanKate Thu 24-Jan-19 10:21:45

Thanks AuntieFlo just keeping the seat warm for Mick.

Thanks also to the regulars here, especially Maw for standing up to the bullies and stirers.

Hi Mick, great to have you back although everyone did a sterling job in your absence. It must feel so good to have been missed by us all. This technical age is great until things go wrong.
Off out this morning to get my glasses checked and maybe (probably) pop into one of our lovely cafes. Later though back to the gym to get my daily fix. No I'm not obsessed it just works for me. This time last year I was on crutches and in a wheelchair, now thanks to my treatment and the gym I can walk pain free on 1 crutch. Lots to be thankful for.
