I'm so remiss in not responding for some time to all our dear kitcheners - I've been reading but never actually finding time to post. Welcome to all our newcomers and I have brought some cheese scones for all to share.
Doodle my condolences too on your sad loss - your SIL will be very much missed I'm sure.
Soop thoughts are with you today - I hope you managed to get the ferry and don't have to make the even longer trip. As someone said we who have hospital facilities 'on hand' don't appreciate how difficult it must be to live so far away.
Panache it's good to read your post and know that Mr P is slowly recovering - not so good that he now has sciatica to contend with and that things are still not moving fast enough in the care department.
Synonymous I'm sure once the day for your husband's op finally arrives you'll all heave a sigh of relief - only then can you actually begin to process the recovery/caring period. The waiting must be awful not just for him but for you all.
Ann I'm sure Molly will be fine although the vet is probably worried about her stitches. Once they have a taste of the outside life they can't wait to be out and about again.
I went away to the bungalow for a few days last week but started with a cold 2 days in so spent one day on the sofa wrapped in a blanket watching box sets. It was almost worth feeling poorly especially with no work to worry about This morning I've had a bad nose bleed - something I've been dreading since being on the blood thinning meds - bit scary but it stopped eventually.
Apologies to all those I've missed out - I have read everything! I will pop back in later to see if there is any news from Soop.

We survived our Bear Grylls experience but it’s not until you see nature through the eyes of a young city bred boy do you realise how bloody marvellous it all is !! I have attached a picture , I missed the one of Grampy rescuing Stevie from the big ( and by big I mean huge ! ) slide !!
We are returning him with all his limbs to his Mum and Dad tomorrow but Jackson has tonsillitis so there will be a slight delay before we collect them , if he improves enough.
We shall be spending our down time putting things away , cleaning and buying more food !! Where do young boys put it??
Galen we have frog spawn envy here !! Stevie would love some but we haven’t seen any to collect .
So sorry to hear your friends husband is still missing Dragonfly do they suspect foul play?
We ignored all elf and safety issues GrannyQ , working on the principle that his Dad has shown him the rules for penknives , he is allowed one given to him by Grampy to splice twigs and such . I’m very proud of the way he is careful with it and puts it safely away when done. As to the rest - if being a boy gets you a few bumps and bruises so be it ?. I don’t know who had more fun the big ‘un or the little ‘un.

ann You can only do what you already do for the sake of your dear husband. It is a cruel illness and, you are not to blame. You have a duty to take the best possible care of yourself. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed time with your granddaughter. She sounds like a treasure.
I am very weary. MacSporran opted to drive the entire round trip of 240 miles. We dare not trust that the ferry would definitely be operating. The wind was gusting gale-force at times.
The hospital is situated high on a hill in Greenock. Merely walking from the car to the entrance was an ordeal. Had it not been for MacS I would have been blown out of sight.
Half an hour lying face-down with my breasts held in two apertures wasn't as uncomfortable as it sounds. It's the noise! Even with ear protectors, and music being played, the experience is capable of producing a monumental head ache.
Well, that's another boxed ticked. The three dimensional images will help the lovely lady consultant come to the right decisions regarding treatment. THANK YOU NHS and all who make a difference to the the not-so-well.
We stopped off at the Oyster Bar for coffee and a bite to eat. Now we are home and MacS is snoozing. I'm dolled-up in jim-jams and furry slippers.
I am sending every one of you my love. I shall be at home tomorrow and will call in for a proper catch-up. She says quietly and hopefully.
