One of my neighbours who does not possess a car, kindly rang me (with a car) to ask if I wanted bread or whatever tomorrow. I thought it was so kind of her.

We still have snow here and more is forecast overnight- are we not the lucky ones? Tara was not impressed having to stay in all day.

Izabella thanks for the offer but I cannot walk far so do not possess boots.

It is good that when these men return home they will have acquired different skills so may be of some help to their OHs.

I wore the walking shoes when I went to a neighbours house on Wednesday.

No ,neither did I.
When I went to see H this afternoon they had had a special lunch, the tables were beautifully set with flowers, wine and chocolates and they had had a really nice meal which they all seemed to have enjoyed.
A friend called to see him while I was there, she was very upset to see how he had deteriorated in 2 months, but he was fine with her and pleased to see her.
I am in my pyjamas and dressing gown already and am very warm and cozy.

I have just come back from a magical performance of Schubert’s Winter Journey song cycle at The Stables -Cleo Laine and John Dankworth’s music and concert venue near MK. Thank goodness we had had no more snow- you can get too much of a good thing!

annsixty I know how difficult it is to adjust to seeing someone in a different setting to that in which you've seen them for many years. It seems you are coping incredibly well from what you tell us. I'm sure there are dark times too but your positivity is remarkable and can only help both you and your H in the future, whilst giving others reassurance in facing their own difficulties. You are a very caring person and I'd take my hat off to you if it wasn't so cold at the moment

On a separate note - my DGS was disappointed when his special school-friend did not want to have a birthday party this week. DDIL promised she would get a birthday cake for them to share at home but as DGS gets a bit crazy (his words) with sugary stuff, I have been given most of it and have left it in the tin on the side for you all to help yourselves for elevenses. Whether that's tonight or tomorrow morning is entirely up to yourselves

0800 saw me in the aforementioned wing to the side of the kitchen where my flabber was truly gasted. Indeed Charley the laundry had been done by the inmates residents and was hanging on the line. Previously pure white sheets are now a shade of pink, the sheets have just been thrown on the line, all bunched up and pegged in one place (we have force 8 gales forecast later in South Utsire and Cromarty), the shirts are pegged by one cuff and trailing in the mud, and underpants pegged by the crutch. I assume socks are not being changed as there are none in evidence and may well explain a strange mustiness on the ward. As for the pink balcony bra (36DD) I make no comment.

I am now in the office considering what steps to take with thee errant men.

Please keep warm, safe from slips and fractures out there ladies and I shall see you all later in the kitchen enjoying cake.

Its brisk here this morning but no snow which is lucky as we have to pick up some furniture for the West Wing.

Izabella I am shocked at the state of the laundry ( and Grampy says he's never worn a balcony bra in his life !!)

I do love a bit of birthday cake Swanny so don't mind if I do. I remember when our GD came over to celebrate Grampy's birthday and was disappointed to find no Pass The Parcel game . For a long time we used to say 'It isn't a party without Pass the Parcel' - she's too grown up for that now lol

My daughter went to see young Stevie perform at the O2 last night in the biggest school choir in the world event. Apparently it was wonderful and I am looking forward to seeing the pictures and video.

Mamissimo, I have come late to this discussion, not unusual, as I’m late for most things, or mind wandering off to something else, and miss the gist. Anyway, back to the awful situation, can your daughter see a Solicitor or Citizens Advice Bureau, about advice on claiming from the driver. To my mind he has created a debt, his Insurance Company won’t pay, but he might have other income, job, house etc. When it’s all totalled up, take a trip to the Small Claims Court and start a procedure to claim their costs.

N&G I could not agree more- they are very kind but I am fiercely independent and would never ask for help unless I was down to my last crumb.

Izabella I honestly do not know what to do with that crowd. Did they not learn anything from their mothers or latterly their wives? When the weather improves I will give them a demonstration.

As for the bra- I really do not know which of them was hiding a floozy. I did not think that any of them were up to any rumpy pumpy. Words fail me and that has to be a first.

I love coming into our kitchen and reading stuff that makes me hoot. Thank you, Charleyg and Izabella for your delightful update regarding manly-matters. When you discover the owner of the balcony bra, I suggest that you place her name on the complaints list. Post said list outside the ward. We shall wait with baited breath for her so-called innocent explanation. I bet it will start with..."It's not what it looks like..."

Ann At the care home that we visit, every meal is eaten at a properly laid table, clean cloth and napkins and a small posy of flowers. We are always impressed by the first class standards.

Twin2, you are a tiddly bit taller than I am. I' m envious. Two sons are well over 6', when they give me a hug, I finish up with my face buried in their tums. In fact all the grandchildren tower over me. It won't be too long before the great grandchildren catch up. ?

I drove to Waitrose but I went the long way around, avoiding a particular hill and got stocked up, including a bottle of wine which I felt I could not leave there, especially at the price. Bargain Annie never rests.

Twin2 are you in the middle of treatment because that sounds horrendous. Maybe a glass or 3 of my wine may ease the pain.

foxy your advice makes sense and DD and her husband have been to Citizens Advice for help. They have been given the write off value of one one of the cars and the other is to be repaired.....in March! They are out of pocket by quite a lot so are going to make a claim for lost pay, telephone calls etc through the small claims court.

I have to confess that I have been nipping into the conservatory almost nightly to escape the steam fair level snoring of my DH. I creep in wearing my striped onesie for modesty I case the men are on the loose. I’ve heard noises!

Does anyone have news of the Panaches ? I’m concerned that they’ve gone awol. I’ve had no reply or contact from them this week and I’m praying that no news is ok news.

Charley Girl I’m between treatment as tooth taken out infected and stitches in gum ?on antibiotics and back in 3 weeks but getting better.

Pleased to hear it. The antibiotics take 48 hours to kick in. As you are taking them I am happy to drink your share of wine. I must sort out my duck leg and trimmings.
