Referendum

I voted Leave and would 100% vote leave again. I live in Scotland and cannot understand people who voted for independence from England but want to be ruled by an unknown unseen group in Brussels.

It is not only Europe that is on the verge of recession, it is the world! China is suffering already and that has become a powerful country that even the great President Trump is worried will become stronger than US on all fronts. What chance will little UK stand on its own during a world recession.

Yes I would vote the same. It is not the referendum that has caused the shambles, it is Mrs May. She had no plan , no strategy and I cannot imagine what she thought would happen. We need a cabinet with a majority of Brexiters so that the impetus is all about getting a decent arrangement for leaving the EU.

Instead we have had Mrs May ignoring all our domestic needs while taking over the jobs of those who should have been negotiating. She has to go.

CallgirlI I had looked at my life as it was before casting my vote. We had our own property. I had a car as did DH. Both of us had a job and kids doing well at school.We had overseas holidays, with passports of course No problem with that.
We both voted 'bring it on' Why not.? What had we to lose, more to gain maybe ?.
I now look around the UK and what I observe and with what myself together with thousands of others had a hand in.
I am not proud of this.

I speak from USA. I haven't heard of chlorine chicken, but we do get news about your plight. I think they asked the populace to vote on something they weren't informed about enough. We believe there may have been outsiders trying to make things to their own liking. Many of us have been praying for you and will continue to pray. X

Sarahcyn ??? totally agree... Leave and leave again.. for the sake of our children, and future generations.. we need to take control of our own destiny again. I think people do forget, we voted to leave the constraints of the EU, we didn't vote to leave Europe..we will still be able to travel and enjoy the benefits of Europe, as they will enjoy ours.. we will just regain control of OUR own country and laws once more.. well that was the plan anyway.. once upon a time.

Why vote again. They didn’t listen to the first vote.
They do things their way regardless of what we might vote.

Ayse What leads you to believe the UK could ever become a US state.? Without US help where would we have been 39- 45 when much of Europe was under German occupation with the UK next on their list.

ayse: No-one actually voted to go in and no one will make anyone buy chicken from the USA if they don't want to either. I've been a Leaver since we joined in 1973. Nothing has changed my mind. Edward Heath lied to us when he took the UK into the EU without a vote (quote 'the lost of our fishing waters was a price worth paying') and Harold Wilson claimed we'd suffer if we came out in 1975 when we were offered a referendum and Remain won then. We didn't have the internet then to do our own research and, as usual, the 'unbiased' BBC put the scare tactics out as well.

As a small child my first experience of the U S was a convoy of vehicles full of U.S military rumbling down the street where I lived in the UK. We were to later receive parcels of food donated by the US government .I have no recollection of chlorine chicken either.

The waste of money by the EU Commissions is obscene.

Hundreds of thousands spent on fine dining and champagne and the ridiculous decamping to Strasbourg for 4 days every month at a cost of £150 Million per month.

I wonder how it will manage without our annual net contribution of £9 Billion. With all those billions, I think we could do a lot for the NHS, policing, education, etc.

I don't fear leaving on WTO terms.

That was NOT my reason for changing my vote it was a statement of disgust in both left/right of politics for the behaviour some have shown. Perhaps to satisfy you I should have said Leavers and Remainers as well as left/right of politics .

You seem to think any future vote is very important as it has to last FOREVER!!! Hang on, don’t you remember, haven’t we already had the vote that was to last “FOREVER!!” What if any vote is Leave again, will we then have to have yet another future vote as “damn, the people of this country voted the wrong way AGAIN!!” Pretty pathetic, Nonnie, even for you!! I looked into the pros and cons the first time round and thought it better to Remain, partially because of the “unknown” and worry about what might happen. However, I accepted leave as I am a democrat, and that’s what should go ahead. I think it is also now too late to stay in the EU. Does anyone really think the EU isn’t going to punish us for all this, were we to stay?? They must be laughing their heads off at us! After all if we did remain, it shows that, as a country, we are weak, ignore what our people want and obviously cannot manage without them. I would also expect rather large bills from them for the inconvenience, plus I can also see us subsidising (even more) the other countries we have “inconvenienced.”
To be honest I would now support a “no deal” Brexit and refuse to pay the divorce settlement, giving this money instead to our Police services and NHS.

Lindaylou so pleased to find someone else who has my views on Scottish Independence. I too cannot understand the SNP and their supporters who want to leave a United Kingdom, which is our family and from where we get the majority of our trade, but still want to stay in the EU, which does not care about us except as a “cash cow” and we don’t even speak the same languages.

Just some figures on how much of a ‘cash cow’ we are.

I voted remain but if there were to be another referendum I would vote leave. The majority want to leave and that's how democracy is supposed to work. The appalling behaviour of both our own politicians and the Europeans is just making a bad situation worse.

I don't think I could face another referendum on the subject, the whole subject has dominated politics and tv for two plus years.

If they call one I'd probably vote leave on a no deal, not a fan of Theresa May's "deal".

I am very depressed reading through the replies. I spend my time telling people that not all older people voted leave when we get the blame! It appears from here that I am wrong -when they still want to leave when they now know all the problems. It is so unfair for the future generations who don’t get to vote.
