An Australian magazine has published an article saying that Charles and Camilla are about to announce their divorce. Apparently they haven’t been seen together for sometime.
Speculation or not?

Jeeze, you're touchy !

EllanVannin Sun 13-Jan-19 14:58:45

Don't be pulling me up about someone who's been long gone. Channel your own remarks to those of you who have friends in the States who glibly read such things about the living !

I don't see your quickfire remarks about that newspaper !

Sheilasue Sun 13-Jan-19 14:45:02

Utter rubbish, probably got nothing to write about that Aussie paper so mak8ng things up.

I agree, "mad as a box of frogs" is fine for someone quirky/accentric/funny but not okay in the context of mental illness

grannyactivist Sun 13-Jan-19 14:08:48

Prince Philip's mother was in fact a diagnosed sufferer of schizophrenia and in spite of her severe mental illness, her profound deafness and her traumatic experiences in life she did a lot of good.

I suppose you meant no harm Ellen and I have no problem with lighthearted references to people being as 'mad as a box of frogs', but I feel uncomfortable when I come across that term being used for people with a diagnosed mental illness. I wonder how someone on Gransnet would feel about being a sufferer and reading themselves being described in those terms?

Hopefully it'll miss a few future generations Anniebach.

Princess Alice was a schizophrenic, thankfully we have moved on from ridiculing this cruel illness, well most have

EllanVannin Sun 13-Jan-19 13:55:03

It was Prince Philip's mother Alice who was as mad as a box of frogs.

travelsafar Sun 13-Jan-19 13:36:50

You only have to look at them to see the love they have for each other!!!

Oldwoman70 Sun 13-Jan-19 13:29:14

Not a fan of either of them but I don't for one minute believe this rubbish.

FlorenceFlower Sun 13-Jan-19 13:12:54

Was in America last Autumn and one magazine there suggested that Camilla has been sectioned because of her ‘mad’ behaviour.

Four months later, all still seems calm in Royal circles!

DanniRae Sun 13-Jan-19 13:06:47

I initially didn't want Charles to marry Camilla but now I can see that she makes him very happy. So no I don't believe that there is any trouble in their marriage and I wish them continued happiness for the future.

sarahellenwhitney Sun 13-Jan-19 13:02:05

Frannytoo They do look 'very happy' together, why not ?.
Their happiness regardless???.

EllanVannin Sun 13-Jan-19 12:55:15

Is this the Princess Mary of Denmark ? The Scotswoman ?

Blinko Sun 13-Jan-19 12:49:54

Re Princess Mary, I think I read ages ago on another thread that an Australian named Mary had married a European Crown Prince. Can't recall of where.... I think that may be who they're thinking of, rather than Princess Mary (of Teck?)

sarahellenwhitney Sun 13-Jan-19 12:48:00

I believe Camilla has been out of circulation for some time alleged ? to be suffering a cold and those of us in our twilight years know what a cold can do to us.
As one of the old school, that believes 'all things take place by necessity' myself and several colleagues wonder whether Camilla will be able to take on responsibilities expected of her when she and Charles are on the throne.
Her Majesty does not appear to be in a hurry to pass on the reins.

Frannytoo Sun 13-Jan-19 12:42:56

I am sure it is just a gimmick to sell and rag. They look very happy together.

sodapop Sun 13-Jan-19 12:34:41

I don't believe it either. They look so happy together, Camilla often takes a gentle swipe at Charles ( figuratively speaking ) and I think keeps him more grounded. Australian press has a history of getting things wrong as someone else said.

dragonfly46 Sun 13-Jan-19 12:25:52

I met Princess Mary in Dulwich Park once when I was a little girl. She was the Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood. A good Yorkshire girl!

Tweedle24 Sun 13-Jan-19 12:24:56

I would be very sorry if it were to happen. They seem so settled together and, if they are having problems (which I doubt): I would wish the press to leave them alone.

I often think that press interference into private lives does the relationship a good deal of damage.

JudiDrench Sun 13-Jan-19 12:19:44

There hasn't been a Princess Mary for some time.

merlotgran Sun 13-Jan-19 12:18:45

Meghan seems to be getting through staff at a rate of knots. Her female security officer is now reported to be quitting.

Yes. Who is Princess Mary?

blondenana Sun 13-Jan-19 12:06:28

Who is Princess Mary?

Blinko Sun 13-Jan-19 11:54:36

I could just do with a yoga studio, come to think of it...

Anniebach Sun 13-Jan-19 11:52:21

The press are too busy with Megan mania, same happened with Anne and Diana, Anne carried on with her official duties whilst the press were busy with Diana mania. It is happening again with Kate, she has carried on with her official duties but Megan mania hits the news, latest is Megan is having a yoga studio built in Frogmore
