Good afternoon and a happy and healthy new year to everyone.

Good afternoon.
A very happy New Year's Eve to you all.
I'm a bit late today as I've been preparing the meal for tonight we'll be sharing with friends.
Just stopped for five, so I thought I'd pop in and wish everyone a happy new year. I hope you all have a decent day.

Just got home from having coffee with my dearest sister as we will both be working tomorrow. Bumped into and aunt and uncle of my DH whilst shoppping and had a great big hug from the uncle and a chaste kiss from the auntie. Now home going to take down decs and cards and clean front room. Will sit up and watch fireworks on tv and no doubt from the neighbours but not going out. I may have a cheeky glass of sherry as the clock chimes, and will remember those who are no longer with us.A Happy, Healthy Peaceful New Year to all.

Happy New Year's eve and wishing all of you wonderful GN's a very happy New Year. Cold and gray this morning here in Massachusetts. Have a few errands to run this a.m. but then back to the apartment to clean and do laundry....with a big mug of coffee in one hand to fortify me. .

A mild morning here in Cheshire, Mick. Son has done 18 holes already. Best wishes for a happier 2019 to you and all those lovely GNs who are ill or have problems. Just off for lunch with the girls. I am so fortunate to have their friendship.

Jen53, you enjoy yourself as much as you can, it all sounds wonderful and it's as it should be. Best wishes to you and make the most of your good health. A Happy New Year to you for such a lovely uplifting post.

For the second year, my husband and I are spending new year in Ibiza so will be enjoying a meal, live band and dancing with total strangers in a hotel in the Old Town. It was unexpectedly wonderful last year and it’s shaping up nicely this year too. Currently we are sitting with cold drinks in the sunshine outside a taverna and feel very blessed. It’s been a hectic year and we provided Christmas with all the trimmings for 14 so now it’s time for us to relax and take stock. We feel most fortunate - our three daughters are happily married to wonderful young men and we have 5 granddaughters and a grandson due in the new year; everyone gets on well with each other and enjoys each other’s company. We are both in good health so have nothing at all to complain about.
I rarely post on GN, maybe because I feel guilty about my good fortune when I read about others’ experiences with DILs or SILs - but I suppose I’m beginning to relax too much. Apologies if any smugness is detected, it’s certainly not intended.

You'll hardly notice it's gone, Grannytotwins. Good luck.
Hope it's as easy as mine was to get rid of.
It's very cloudy here on the edge of Dartmoor. Definitely a bit cooler today.

mumofmadboys Mon 31-Dec-18 10:56:57

Hope all goes well grannytotwins and you are soon feeling better

aggie Mon 31-Dec-18 10:55:38

Oh Grantotwins that is rotten luck ! I lost my appendix aged 11 ! and that was bad enough

mumofmadboys Mon 31-Dec-18 10:55:37

Are you on holiday Julie52 or do you live in Portugal?

Mythbirtthedragon Mon 31-Dec-18 10:55:36

And hello from a mild Northumberland where the sun is trying very hard to shine. We've escaped from London for a few days to come and see my family and have the pleasure this afternoon of looking after my great niece (nearly four). Aiming to take her to jesmond dene to wear her out.
Tonight we will be playing 'Upwords', a family tradition when seeing the new year in.

aggie Mon 31-Dec-18 10:54:03

Good morning all
DD3 , SIL , and DGDs staying and expecting my Sister , so it won't be a quiet Hogmanay
Happy new year to you all with especial wishes for good health in 2019

Good morning! I’m lying in bed in hospital waiting for emergency surgery so I’ve no idea what the weather is like. I’m on hourly morphine, which is the good bit. I can’t believe that my appendix needs to come out st the age of 69. I was going to a party with my DH, DC and DGC tonight, but that’s not happening!

Julie52 Mon 31-Dec-18 10:45:21

Good morning from a sunny Portugal. Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.

Good morning from the murky but dry East Midlands. I'll do my hair later - trying to get it to look glamorous - just for myself. No plans to see the NY in unless I get a text later. I don't really have the energy these days. I might have a little drinkie with the mince pie flavour cream drink which is left over from Christmas. All good wishes for 2019.

Good morning all from a grey but mild Northern Ireland. Going to see the new Mary Poppins film this afternoon with my daughter. Eyeing up the Christmas decs and itching to get them down now!
Happy New Year to everyone!

Good morning all from Stockport.
It is very dark and dull here.
I must go out shortly to pick up an order from M&S ,not food, and then go and see my H who had a fall in the night.
He was not hurt but his falla are getting more frequent.
He also has a urine infection, another possible cause.
I hope all of you celebrating tonight have a good time and stay safe.
A lot of illness about it seems.

On that note (!) Happy, healthy and peaceful New Year to all

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Dull but dry in South Yorkshire. GS is still in bed so we have a slow start today. We’ll probably try and get a walk in at some stage. Kitty best wishes to Mr L today. No plans here for New Year, but may I wish everyone peace and happiness in 2019!

GrannyGravy13 Mon 31-Dec-18 08:56:16
