Best Christmas present you received.

one of my gifts is a DNA testing kit, this shows where your ancestors were, in what part of the world you have connections etc. Being adopted i have never really been interested in tracing my family tree, What has being adopted got to do with that I hear you ask ! Well I was 6 weeks old when adopted and my family is the family of the people who raised me, and of course no DNA connection there. I did trace my birth family but just didn't really feel a connection to them, my daughter wanted to find her roots so she started to delve into the family and she is really into this, so gave me the DNA kit as she has already done hers and she is interested in seeing how much of her DNA is connected to mine. Will be interesting to see how much we share once I get my results back from USA.

I received my best Christmas present ever, a copy of my DinL’s scan showing my as yet unborn Grandchild, a total surprise!

As I am foodie and love cooking, I got Fondue Gift Set as my Christmas gift from one of my secret Santa friend.
I love that. Now whenever I need to eat fondue at home, I can.

I got a thingy to show the temperature outside and in , just looked , it calls itself a weather station . It tells me if I need a coat going out I love it

Miepl, please could you tell us more about these Rocketbooks?? Had never heard of them. Just looked them up. Sound just the ticket. Need a special pen it seems; are they easily obtainable? Many thanks.

My DD &SiL bought me a ticket for Harry Potter World! We’re all going in March and my grandson was more excited about giving me my present than he was about opening his own.

A framed poem , purportedly by my DGS ( but obviously written by my daughter) about all the things I do with him and how they are appreciated. Had to have several attempts before I could read it through the tears!

I got a Rocketbook, which you can write in, then use the app to store your musings, email them etc. Then you can wipe the page clean and start over again!

travelsafar, thank you, sorry I said things you stick in your ears, I was still in bed and only half awake, I did mean ear plugs. I will ask my grandchildren about Bluetooth and WiFi.

A beautiful assortment of lovingly, homemade, jams, pickles, drinks etc, from our GD, who is a new(ish) mum to a 17 month old , and busy wife. She puts so much thought into each and every item, and the gift tags were clever and witty.

Anniebach No you dont need earplugs. It is connected by bluetooth i think on my tablet and wifi. I am not really sure how it all links up but i am sure someone here will know.My DH is very good with new technology so i am ashamed to say i just left it to him to sort it all out for me.

Two lovely hampers from DD, SIL, DGD, packed with all our favourite things - wines, biscuits, cheeses, pickles and much more. Very thoughtful.

No knowledge of these, does one have to wear those things to stick in one’s ears ?
