Urmstongran Fri 28-Dec-18 13:15:00

Sorry Anniebach I forgot to say I hope your appointment goes well & you don’t find it too distressing. You are very brave in taking steps to help yourself to a better place mentally.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 28-Dec-18 13:11:15

Anniebach, I know you can do it ???

eilyann Fri 28-Dec-18 13:03:26

Good luck Annie thinking of you flowers

Urmstongran Fri 28-Dec-18 12:32:53

I looked it up.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an interactive psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress. It is an effective treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Urmstongran Fri 28-Dec-18 12:30:55

Pippa22 EMDR isn’t an an acronym. They are listed for you at the top of the forum page to assist you. Anniebach is having counselling following a close family bereavement & this is what it is known as. I’m not au fait with what it is either but we can always ‘Google’ it if we wanted to.

Pippa22 Fri 28-Dec-18 11:36:02

Annie, what is EMDR please ? I find all these abbreviations a bit like a secret code for people in the know and I am an outsider! It is not very welcoming I don’t think for newcomers to try to sort out what the posters mean. Don’t think it happens on other sites so why did it start here ? Guess I need to do some homework so I can decipher what everything means....

Morning all from a dull and cold Hampshire.
Quiet day at home today, as feeling headachey and cold.
Hope it will be good news for people waiting results and seeing Doctors and get well soon to all feeling poorly ?

marpau Fri 28-Dec-18 10:41:35

Morning from a bright sunny Scottish Borders quick tidy round then a walk along the river. Will do a litter pick as we go. Hope everyone is well.

Grey day in Sussex but am taking 3 of my GC for a brisk country walk before 2 go back home with parents today after staying with me, for a lovely family Xmas. Then am packing my case pm for a trip to Lake Como for the New Year, so very excited.

Minerva Fri 28-Dec-18 10:10:24

Good morning everyone.

Oh Nankate I would love to be where you will be today. Say hello to the waves for me. I used to live a block up from the sea at Hove and took that walk every day after work and a swim if it was warm enough.

I am being rescued from the chaos of home by my big brother and sister-in-law for a quiet meal out at lunchtime whilethe crazy six grandchildren have fish and chips here with their parents.

Mapleleaf Fri 28-Dec-18 10:09:18

Pleasant, not p,easy. Don’t know where that came from!

Mapleleaf Fri 28-Dec-18 10:08:10

Good morning.
It looks like another p,easy to day again today, with the sun attempting to peek through.
Had another lovely day yesterday, taking a walk around the grounds of another country house. (On a much smaller scale to the one we went to on Boxing Day). There were not many people at this one, but it was delightful - so calm and peaceful. There’s so much beauty to see in the winter months, isn’t there?
Not sure what we’ll be doing today.
Whatever you do, I hope you have a peaceful day. tchsmile

Good morning All x

Slightly greyish this morning but unseasonably mild. Windows open to air the place.
Woke up with a " thick sore throat " ( catarrhal infection ) by the feel of things so a couple of paracetamol immediately. Stomach is rumbling with hunger so it's porridge with honey to slither down instead of my usual buttered crumpet.
Hopefully it won't reign long ! I did wonder if I'd escape the bugs or not sad

Anyway, nowhere near as bad as some who are suffering !

Stay safe all you travellers.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in York this morning and we are preparing to leave DS’s to go home. We have already disrupted the household by turning the house upside down looking for DH’s glasses which were in his pocket!!! Well, wha’d’ya know?? In the meantime he spilled coffee all over the carpet. They are escorting us to the door as we speak!? have a good day folks!

oldgaijin Fri 28-Dec-18 09:21:41

Greetings from a damp Aberdeenshire...so good to be home in my own bed. The sky is clear so it looks to be a decent day..
First job is to clear all the broken glass in the greenhouse after last week's storm, then a food shop.
Am coming to terms with my only daughter and family moving to Singapore for three years...I shall miss them all, especially my grandchildren...Shall I see them again?
Have a good day, all.

NfkDumpling Fri 28-Dec-18 09:18:12

Good Luck Annie.

Good Morning from a mild Black Country.

Not long woken up! Probably as Partner is off work and we do not have to be out of the house for 7am.

Not sure what the plans for today are, probably a walk, then start to think about packing for our trip to Lincolnshire on Sunday. So looking forward to spending New Year with my friend who moved there 15 months ago.

I had a cat as a child BlueSapphire and when we came back from holiday, she used to great us, then promptly turn her back on us for a while smile

Five granddaughters under one roof should be fun Sar53. I have four and it is always 'lively' when they all get together!

Hope everyone has a good day, and good luck with the medical appointment Marydoll

Anniebach Fri 28-Dec-18 08:47:52

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

I have my third meeting with the EMDR therapist today, apprehensive, it can now become distressing.

Hope everyone has a good day x

DoraMarr Fri 28-Dec-18 08:40:10

Good morning from Birmingham, where it appears, from my window, to be fairly bright and mild. I slept late this morning after a busy few days, so now have to get my skates on and prepare lunch for daughter number three, son in law, granddaughter number one and my son. We’ll have a walk in the park too.

Grammaretto Fri 28-Dec-18 08:30:22

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. It's just getting lighter here but no sign of the sun. More family arrived yesterday.
Good luck with the medical apps Marydoll and anyone else who is poorly.

harrigran Fri 28-Dec-18 08:29:55

Good morning, seems to be cooler here on the NE coast but not frosty.
Appointment with practice nurse that was arranged after raised BP at a hospital appointment. I should have been seen a month ago but the nurse rescheduled because she wasn't well. She said she was too busy, just as well it wasn't critical.
It will be my first time out of the house since Christmas day.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 28-Dec-18 08:22:29

Good morning all x

Grey light here in SE Essex.

Hope your H is on the mend SAR53,

Off to middle S and DiL’s today, (your neck of the woods Sar53) for delayed Boxing Day, 3 AC and other halves along with my sister and brother in law and 4 GC. Should be a noisy and fun filled day!!!!

Wishing you a fabulous Friday ?

Willow10 Fri 28-Dec-18 08:18:01

Good morning from a dry, mild East Northants. Nothing much to get excited about in the sales yesterday so at least my bank card was grateful! Not sure what today will bring, but hope it's a good one for all.
