Mornin Mick and all, a fry up breakie sounds good to me - I'm just finishing my porridge! It's getting light in Somerset, present opening next and then off to inlaws for lunch. Wishing everyone a Very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

Good morning and Feliz Navidad to everyone. Having gone through my usual Christmas ritual of checking umpteen recipes for the best way to roast turkey, I'm now off to do it my way.

Good morning everyone and a Merry Christmas from this rather dank and chilly corner of Dorset, I hope that everyone has a lovely day.

My velux windows are coated in a thick frost this morning here in North Kent. A few days they were saying it would be 15c today! How wrong can they get the forecast? Last night I watched the twins put out their stockings and a glass of milk for FC. Girl twin put out an entire packet of carrots for the reindeer and they and their disabled brother who is thirteen wrote letters to go with their stockings. All for things that he’d forgotten to put on his sleigh. I’m sure all three will be perfectly happy this morning and it’s lovely that they all believe, especially the big one as his mental age is about seven. I’ll be seeing my three children and the GC in turns this morning and the my DS is cooking. Humbled by a visit in an official capacity to the local hospital and nursing home yesterday and meeting those who are having a very different Christmas away from family and home. I’m thinking of them today and their stories. I hope they get a hug from someone today.

Happy Christmas everyone! It’s a lovely mild morning here in South Manchester. Good as DD1 is driving over with her partner from Leeds at noon - the motorway should be fairly quiet. We are all meeting at DD2 she & her husband are hosting which is nice. The 2 grandchildren aged 6y and 2y were up before 6am....
I’ve already done a bluddy roast turkey crown, 2 trays of stuffing are in the oven now & ive a huge rib of beef to roast next. Glad it’s just once a year all this malarkey ..... ??

Woke at 4am, very wide awake could have done a days work, but considering you could have heard a pin drop at that hour and not even a bird's song I returned to bed and slept until 08.20.

A leisurely day, up to now anyway but will prepare extra roast and veg in case D and GS decide to join me for dinner later when they call. I hate not having enough of anything.

Not a bad day so far, dry and frost-free. Yesterday was wall to wall sunshine, beautiful.

One of my cats is sitting glued to the TV watching The Gruffalo, she's fascinated-----------because of the mouse I suppose !

I hope you all enjoy the food and festivities of this Day. Stay well and warm.

We are having a late lunch out and then all the family are coming to ours. GC will open their gifts from us and then we will have carols round the piano. GD1 plays the violin and GD2 plays the piano. DD plays too so we usually have a lovely selection of music, old fashioned Christmas.

Santa was very generous, as always, today. We are out to spend the day with OH's family , presents ready and waiting for the five grandchildren we will see today. We will spend the day with my family, another five grandchildren on Saturday.

All the boys off to the park to play with new race cars. I am being left in peace for an hour laying the table, putting the turkey in the oven and then DS and DH cooking the meal !

So lovely to read everyone else's thoughts and wishes. Another year without my beloved OH and still I shed tears at carols and so on. Sad time this year as SiL just diagnosed with cancer and not feeling so good today after a day at hospital yesterday.

Happy Christmas and good morning. 6 hours in bed wasn’t bad and now wading through the mountains of paper created by 4 children in just about half an hour. So far they have only fallen out with each other twice.

Two daughters at work in my kitchen. First time in 45 years that I haven’t produced Christmas lunch, apart from one year when there was just me and one daughter and we had an Indian takeaway bought the night before, just because we could.

For once I am able to say good morning rather than afternoon. Its clear, dry and a little bit bright here in Somerset. I was woken up by the screams of delight from the children next door, not our attached neighbours but the ones the otherwise of the driveway, at 4.35 this morning. Its going to be a long day for the parents. Merry Christmas one and all. I am cycling to our Friends Meeting House for an hour of peace of silence, just hope I don't fall asleep.

Happy Christmas from a bright sunny morning in mid Hampshire.
Having Christmas lunch at Hotel later as a treat with family, can you believe I actually missed the buying of food and all the preparations!?

The huge rib of beef went in the oven then took a walk down to the beach with my dog. Literally "I saw three ships go sailing by on Christmas Day in the morning" on the horizon Arrived home and found the Ships at Sea site, they were Liverpool bound but at anchor.
