How many different ones have you had, do you think?
Have you spent much on them, over the years?
I just saw some lovely ones on eBay, and I'm quite tempted to buy a couple. (To replace those I bought a couple of years ago, which can be relegated to the back of the airing cupboard with all the other redundant ones!)

You can buy cushion covers on amazon and they are really cheap. I just have a change of covers every so often.

we are obviously not great cushion lovers.

DH has two in his sofa, I one in my armchair, and there is one in the other armchair that visitors sit in, four in the sofa in the other front room. We have two cane chairs with two cushions apiece.

Do futon like cushions count? DH sits on two at the table since he broke his collar-bone and found his chair an inconvenient height due to restricted mobility.

I sew new cushion covers when the old ones wear out, and have on occasion replaced a cushion with one from a charity shop, but I have never been a fan of loads of cushions.

Chew acacia you must have a lot of storage space .must admit I don't like cushions on beds they look nice but don't look when thrown around room at night .

Marmight. You could use buttons or velcro to close. Don't always need a zip.

As one of my hobbies was crossstitch and tapestry, all my cushions are handmade. The hours spent making them and the cost of materials I am reluctant to part with them. I have given some away as presents to those who appreciate the time spent on them.

I love my cushions and most are hand-made with patchwork and quilting. The trouble is I haven't really got enough space for them in my little house. I've put three on the bed.

You can get separate covers in Dunelm & Ikea Winifred
I've loads of cushions which I just recover when necessary. It's a bit like pass the parcel taking off the next layer only I'm so sentimental I can't get rid of them. Every cover tells a story.. I'm not much good at zips so I have to sew them right up which makes laundering a problem. I use old feather pillows for garden benches covered in hard wearing nautical design material.

I love cushions or cooshions as I'm prone to saying as I'm a Scot and my kids are always taking the mickey out of me.
But I change the regularly.

mabon1 Sat 15-Dec-18 14:26:34

Make them myself in different shapes and fabric so they are unique!

MissAdventure Sat 15-Dec-18 12:30:50

Currently, I'm throwing all the cushions on the floor every time I sit down.
Time to part with some, sadly.

^I've changed my sofas, and now will only have room for one cushion on each.
One!! That's all^

I have room for either these huge cushions or people grin

Jalima1108 Sat 15-Dec-18 11:16:02

No, they all come with the cushion pads

But you can buy cushion pads …..
hmm

winifred01 Sat 15-Dec-18 11:13:30

Recently tried to buy cushion covers, told in John Lewis they no longer sell them. Why?

Willow10 Sat 15-Dec-18 11:05:42

I love new cushion covers and really enjoy changing them a couple of times a year! All The insides are feather. The old covers go to the charity shop.

I've got millions of cushions; well, it feels like millions.
My favourites at the moment are my bird ones. I've got a flamingo, a robin, a sparrow, a jay, etc. etc....

ReadyMeals Sat 15-Dec-18 10:48:38

Glammagran, is your DH also allergic to wool? You can get wool cushion pads!

4allweknow Sat 15-Dec-18 10:43:05

Can't say how many cushions I've had. All types, some I have sewn or knitted or bought. Had so many I had to have a clear out a few months ago most going to charity. Others I saved the polyester stuffing to use on knitted hedgehogs and teddies. Now I am thinking I could really do with some new ones!

Jalima1108 Sat 15-Dec-18 10:30:15

We have four feather filled ones which came with the suite. They are so huge they usually get put on the floor if anyone wants to sit down - they make good 'stepping stones' for DGC to jump around on.

David1968 Sat 15-Dec-18 10:25:54

Love cushions, but not in the bedroom! (First thing I do in a holiday home is to remove all bedroom cushions and pile them away in the wardrobe or similar.) Does anyone else do this?

glammagran Sat 15-Dec-18 09:52:41

Totally agree - cushions should be feather filled to retain shape. Sadly DH allergic to feathers so buy polyester ones. In no time they look awful.

I won a hashtag cushion in a competition and it is brilliant as a laptop cushion. It is bean baggy (although it doesn't look it) and it moulds to my legs so the laptop doesn't slip off. I wouldn't have bought one but I am very pleased with it.
Otherwise, I like cushions as I sit sideways on my sofa to watch the TV and need them behind my back.
I bought a lovely big velvet one with a parrot on from Debenhams Black Friday sale last year and I still love it, although one of the corner tassels has unravelled and gone. I'd like to get some new ones for my dining chairs as I am a bit short but they aren't top of my list right now.

MissA

I can imagine the memories each layer brings.
I decided to only buy covers as the inners were piling up. Gave all the polyester/microfibre pads to a charity and bought feather-filled pads instead as they sit better.
I still have covers I no longer want so eBay it is...in the New Year. grin

Jalima1108 Fri 14-Dec-18 17:57:12

Far too many - but none in the bedrooms
I have thrown quite a lot out too.

Auntieflo Fri 14-Dec-18 17:52:49

6 in the lounge, (and looking for two new covers)
4 in the small bedroom.
2 large, in the back bedroom
2 large in our bedroom
I love cushions, but DH is like KateyK’s husband.
