Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Foggy and cold in South Yorkshire. A late one for me this morning, but, unlike last night, we both had a quiet night. Nothing much planned today except a pile of ironing to tackle. BlueSaphire ‘Rebecca’ remains one of my all time favourite books. Enjoy it! Have a good day, folks.

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Another day waiting for parcels, one was delivered at 20.40 last night and one at 20.00 on Sunday.
Take care Maw, scarlet fever is highly infectious. I remember having it as a child, Public health came in and fumigated the house and burnt all my books and toys. The use of antibiotics has shortened the duration of the illness, children were still hospitalised and dying of it when I had it.

Grey and misty in SE Essex, overslept as I was still wide awake at 3am!!!!!

Carpets being fitted today nit sure how much they will get done, but they cannot get back here again until next Monday. So hopefully from Tuesday onwards I can get my house back and put the Christmas decorations up.

Morning all, very foggy here in the SE. Quiet morning for me, but got the dentist later & feeling nervous already.

I had Scarlet Fever as a child thank you Harrigran and the Dr has said that DGS is no longer infectious 48 hours after first symptoms (weekend) so I have no worries there.
I know attitudes were very different in our day/childhood. My mother was told to destroy (burn) all my soft toys, books, bedding and “fumigate” the house.
Fortunately she had more sense!

Cold and misty in E Sussex, am rather tired after not getting home till 1am after the Tina Turner Show in London. It was so amazing I recommend it to everyone. Granddaughter no:2 is here till 3pm today so we are out to lunch then some girly shopping down by the Harbour.

A bleary good morning to one and all this morning. I was ill all through the night, sickness, and feel wiped out now. I am sipping warm water, and about to look in the freezer for some ginger root to grate. Googled cures for nausea, and most came up with hangover cures. I wish!!
So off to have a shower and wash my hair, hoping to make myself feel a bit more human. At the moment I look like “the wreck of the Hesperus” as DM would have said.

A late good morning from East Northants. Seem to have been on the go since I got out of bed! I have a friend calling in for coffee later, then I need to go out and find new China mugs. Made the mistake of buying nice pottery ones, but when full they are too heavy to lift! Tonight I'm going to see the new Freddie Mercury/Queen film. Fog has cleared now, I hope it doesn't come down again later - not when I'm driving!

Maw scarlet fever is nothing like the illness it used to be. I am sure your DGS will be up and about in no time.
Why do these things always come at your most busiest?

Morning all. Chores done and time for this and the radio. Damp, foggy and slightly frosty here so feeling the need for comfort food. Going to make soup, clear out a cupboard and then go for a walk. The leaves are mostly off the trees but there is still just a little colour left to enjoy. Winter is definitely here. There is another local Christmas Fayre on so I will meet friends and enjoy (too much) home made cake and tea. Must try not to be tempted to buy cake to take home too. Hope all those with health issues stay in and stay warm.

Oh dear, auntyflo, that’s horrible. I hope you feel better soon.
I’m having a mince pie and a cup of tea, having put the casserole in the oven and tidied up. Contemplating a walk in the park, although it looks a bit dreary out there.

'Morning all! Should really have started with this thread rather than reading the others first. Learning curve! Bright and fresh day up here and, unusually, I have nothing planned which is often when good things happen. Hope you all have a fulfilling day however simple that may be.

Hope your DGS soon feels brighter, Maw. It's amazing how soon little ones usually bounce back isn't it? At least he didn't get it closer to Christmas, thank goodness.
I've got some ironing looking at me that I'd better tackle, then hope to see my friend this pm if she's free today.

Still foggy here in South Buckinghamshire. The DH and I have been on a long walk around our village and marvel that it is still lovely even when the weather is dire. There is light rain forecast for later followed by heavy rain. Oh joy!

Good morning everyone from a wet, windy and dark day in Northern Ireland. 7 month old puppy is loving it but we are not!

Auntieflo my DH was exactly the same in the early hours of Monday morning. Felt very washed out all day Monday but pleased to say he is fine today. Take it easy and I’m sure you’ll be back on form soon.

Wet, wet, wet!

It is lunchtime and I am exhausted already!

Shower, dry yards of hair, get OH breakfasted, up and dressed, bring in logs, light fire, vacuum up the ash and clean the stove door, sort out OH's drugs with surgery (again!), put up 2 weeks of drugs in medi-boxes, clear up hallway, empty bins..........I'm getting too old for this!!

6.40am here in California. Rain forecast for the next 3 days, hurrah! We’re off to Napa today for some R & R, coming back Friday. As it will be wet, we plan on doing some Christmas shopping, maybe a trip to the cinema, and we have a private tasting arranged at one of the wineries. Can’t wait!

Sounds lovely, Artols. A good opportunity to get stocked up for Christmas after sampling first.
