It seems I can't do anything right on other threads - there are certain people who have taken an instant dislike to me for no good reason. Why is it so bleak out there. Can someone please lift me out of a really grumpy mood this morning? I had a good night’s sleep and woke up late and should be feeling rested, but I feel as if I have the weight of the world on my shoulders and it is annoying me. Poor DH got it in the neck for flapping the duvet too hard and then doing all the closers up the in wrong order. Hardly a hanging offence that, eh? If I had to do it on my own I would get into a right old mess, so I need a kick up the backside! He can lead the queue!

Momb I am so sorry to hear about your much loved cat. We have been through this twice and have called time on it as it is too distressing when it is time to let them go.?

Panache I would like to say I can’t believe that your SS are such an unhelpful shower, but I can’t say it, because they are just the same in the part of Wales where my sister in law lives. They are less than there helpful too! Good news about the new viewer though! Fingers crossed for that!

Corner I hope your tooth is more comfortable today. I have a routine dental appointment next week - if I have any teeth left! I have a new electric toothbrush - an Oral B - and it sounds and feels like a pneumatic drill! My other one was much gentler and quieter, but it was an inexpensive one and though it is working fine, I can no longer get heads to fit it and I only have a couple left.

Ah well, I will get on. I have a curry to make for tomorrow so perhaps that will provide a distraction. I will look in later.

I received a phone call from Oban hospital mid morning. Could I attend tomorrow, mid morning, for a Sigmoidoscopy. Will go into the day ward for an enema prior to the procedure. Have confirmed.
Thing is, we'll be attending an Eddi Reader concert in Tarbert early evening. Need to suss out the location of the loo before settling down to enjoy the event.

Can I have a moan? First my electric bed has broken and I have to get a new one.
Then yesterday my mobility scooter refused to function and I use it all the time. Fortunately it was an easy (but not cheap) repair.
Last my back is very painful,as it’s been for more than a month.
I’m fed up of being housebound (apart from sitting on the tribunals) and can’t wait to go cruising with our Bella.
Sorry about that, but I think I feel a little better getting it off my ample bosom!

Hello everyone. So many visitors to the kitchen needing a wee lift. So I will collect my cheese scone tray from yesterday and leave a big pan of comforting pea and ham soup with a tray of mini goats cheese scones. I am just home from a checkup at the doctor and I got to cuddle a baby when I was in the waiting room. Oh that new baby smell - brought tears to my eyes. I think everyone who came in from the deluge felt better just enjoying seeing a lovely young mum and baby and there was a lot of cooing. Hope you all cosy up for the afternoon. For those feeling down don’t forget to put on your favourite music. I always think music is so comforting. I will be back tomorrow for my pan. Would the gran who takes the last portion please soak it in cold water.

All cat lovers! There is a programme on BBC4 at 10pm this evening which may well be of interest to you. It's called "The secret life of the cat". I will record it as I should fall asleep pretty quickly after the start if I watch it live!

Galen, I’m sorry you are going through the doldrums and think you’ve every right to have a moan. I shall do my best to cheer you up when we meet. Not long now! Hang in there, this too shall pass.

It's been so dark today that you'd think that the sun had failed to rise. I'd been having a brew and a blether with a friend and when we came out of the café, the sky was inky. Fortunately not in the direction we were going. I then had to drive to M&S, a journey which has been hugely shortened by the opening of a new road to the airport which takes me almost straight to M&S. And most of the way home.
Cheer up, Greyduster. Tomorrow is another day! I often wonder why no easier way of changing a duvet cover has never been devised. For me, it is a very good reason for having a cleaner!

My daughter rang to ask if I`d like to go to a carol concert in 2 weeks. A lady she cleans for was going with her hubby, but he has had a letter saying he`s having an operation 2 days prior, so she`s offered Dawn the front row tickets. I will have to borrow Lynne`s wheelchair though, as the front row tickets are for someone in a wheelchair!

Well, I’ve ordrered a new bed.
Ordered some euros to be delivered.
Read the 12” pile of files for tomorrow ‘s tribunal.
Ordered new sheets to go with new bed as it’s a different size. ( downsizing from a double to a small double) this means I have2 lovely white Egyptian 200count cotton fitted sheets to get rid of. They’re less than a year old. Hope the charity shop will take them.

It would have been my Mother’s birthday today, and in a strange coincidence the Hospice that cared for her at the end was holding a fundraiser Christmas lunch with beautiful Christmas gift stalls. My gym friends and I went along it was a lovely lunch, we toasted Mum, it was just the sort of thing she loved. I have shed a few tears, I and our family miss her so much, she was such a kind, loving and funny lady.

I must leave this friendly supportive kitchen for my own to prepare MrGG his dinner.

Hope tomorrow brings a brighter day for all with troubles ??

soop, I've been wondering how you come up with names for every new kitchen. Perhaps we can help you by making some suggestions which you can keep a list of for possible future use. I like alliterative names like the current 'warm and welcoming'. To start the ball rolling, I'd like to suggest: 'cosy and convivial' which the kitchen always is.

I'm so sorry about your cat MOMB - it's the price we pay but sometimes it seems too big a price.

We've had a funny day. We left home at 7am to get to the hospital for Dh's eye review. The Consultant says it will resolve itself so that's a relief.

But, while we were there we heard from poor DD1 who has a perforated eardrum and is probably permanently deaf in one ear and will need a hearing aid. She is only 43! Then she went to Aldi to do her shopping and her list was blown out of her hand - shopping without a list is akin to walking down the street naked in terms of stressfulness! (can't imagine where she gets that from ) and, while she was there, she was harassed by a woman who kept barging her with her shopping trolley untill security turned up and threw her out (the woman not DD!) My Whatsapping finger is worn out!!

I'm sorry if I've missed anyone but sending those who need it a huge (((hug))). I'm off to cook cod wrapped in bacon. I think I deserve too.

GrannyG, the hospice that cared for my husband hold a service in a local church every December, called Light up a Life. On arrival, we`re issued with a little candle in a cardboard lantern, plus a little card like a tree bauble on which to write a message which you can then hang on the tree which goes back to the hospice after the service. At one point in the service the lights are all turned out, so there are just the flickering candles to be seen. It`s a lovely service with readings as well as carols, and is very well attended. It`s usually at the Boston Stump (St. Botolph`s), but this year it`s being held at the Centenary Methodist church.

What a day Kitty! Sorry to hear about your DD’s ear and what a horrible experience in the supermarket. I have had a pretty productive day so it is!

Gaga Tabitha has called at the diner (her very own wee chalet) and has eaten every scrap of food. She is a bonnie cat. A joy to watch her having a jolly food wash and brush up before disappearing into her personal domain - the forest.

I must have a shower and wash my hair. We'll need to leave for Oban hospital at 8 o'clock in the morning. I hope to be able to pop in for further updates on my return.
