I am hoping that I will be able to get a photo of all my GC (except eldest) who will be in Thailand with her partner). The youngest used to be a horror in front of the camera, inevitably pulling a face just as the shutter clicked. But now 11 (on Saturday), he quite likes having his photograph taken. Not at all sure if I'll capture his rebellious 13-year-old brother!
Kitty, I might try to get the fence on insurance. It might bring down a very sick rose, but the honeysuckle and winter jasmine are tough enough to withstand - or re-grow. I wish I'd thought of that many years ago when, in a howling gale, I came home to find my back gate on my back doorstep!

Just back from a long walk in the rain ☔️ and very cold so I need to sit in our nice warm kitchen.

Maw I am sorry to hear that Flynn has Scarlet Fever. As a five year old I was treated in Daventry Isolation Hospital. Our home was fumigated. It was a very nasty disease. Medication has improved no end. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I indend catching up ^in the fulness of time. That's a promise.

Yesterday's round trip of 230 miles was exceedingly tiring.
Parking at the RAH in Paisley was a nightmare. We motored round for almost 30 mins before finding a space. I had an endoscopy and, within a very short time, was happy to thank the consultant and leave. Whatever is causing the sore throat could be due to the acid reflux from the hiatus hernia, for which I have medication. We stopped off on our way home for a bite to eat. Bread and butter pud was on the menu. I adore it. However, what was served up was as bad as it gets. £5.95 for a dollop of "sludge" with a cranberry or three as decoration. I very, very, very rarely complain. I felt I was justified in doing so. The bill was adjusted. Fair dos. It never hurts to be honest.

ann Many of your Granspals have made wise comments regarding the kitten. They are right. It is a big commitment. I have yet to read what you've decided.

Have been sharing an album of photos of my watercolour paintings with a lady who has difficulty holding a conversation. It's a way of communicating with her.
A new resident approached me and said that he didn't know who is was. A carer told me his name. I was able to introduce myself, and he was pleased that I addressed him by name. After a very short time, he confessed that he had forgotten again. The carers are an amazing team.

Kitty thank goodness for big sofas! What a smashing photo of your GC! Brightened up my boring day! Mine hasn’t got to the camera shy stage yet, but it will come, I know. When you do manage to lure him in front of the camera these days, he invariably waits almost until you click the shutter and then does something silly!

I am taking a break from the ironing to snatch a cup of coffee, and muse on just how long the leg of lamb has passed through the various kitchens. It must be getting rather battered by now (not to mention those who have been on the receiving end of it!!)?.

Welcome Feelingmyage. I am partial to lentil soup, thank you, and I have some brown bread!

Maw hope Flynn is soon feeling better - I found out on Sunday my grandsons over in NZ had both had Scarlet Fever a couple of weeks ago followed by their mum having a stomach bug so they've all had a rough time. Thankfully they all seem to be over it now. My husband apparently had scarletina when he was a child too.

Vets this afternoon with both furries which is going to be challenging on my own - it will take me an hour to get them in their carriers!

Kitty I am an older child and for me my cousins were amazing. I met up with two of them last year for the first time in 50 years and it was like we had never been apart!

Knock, knock. Just peeping round the door for the first time. I have some lentil soup for lunch if anyone has some brown bread, that would go nicely.

Thank you dragonfly - we like then and the missing pair! We are fortunate that they all get on well - at the moment!

Congratulations, n&g! I think I offered the leg of lamb to someone else yesterday (can't recall who!) so it's a good job he is behaving. Enjoy your afternoon tea.

DH and I were talking about what a practical idea drinking tea from a saucer actually is. DH can't drive at the moment and we were having a cup of tea before I took him for a 3.30 dental appt. He came down in a panic, having checked properly (!!) to say that his appt was actually 3 pm. Tea had to be abandoned - if only we had known where the saucers were

Mine had scarletina too, maw and had no treatment. Naturally, they had it consecutively!!

anno, will you be able to claim the fence, will it do a lot of damage?

Poor wee Flynn. Worrying for his parents and you, Maw. But compared with the crisis it was 70 years ago, it's a
very curable infection now and he will soon bounce back to be his usual indomitable self. Mine both had scarlatina as children. The GP said it was the same bacterium as scarlet fever. They had spots, sore throats and swollen glands.

It's cold here and there was frost on the roofs when I opened the curtains. Gales are forecast which, I fear will bring down most of my wonky fence.
