Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good friends and jolly good company.

Welcome and thank you all for your wonderful company.

Doodle Sat 15-Dec-18 21:29:03

corner glad the tooth came out without too much problem. At last you can rest easy.

DH insisted in walking into town to collect prescriptions today instead of going by car. We came home drenched. In fact so wet our clothes are still hanging in the bathroom drying out. Still no complaints, we have a nice warm home to get back to unlike so many poor souls.

Your tree looks lovely maw. I have to confess we have a small tree and last year I packed it away with baubles still attached So it just came out of the box fully adorned. Just a few lights and job done ?

Quick hello to everyone and now I'm going to catch up with strictly. Did anyone see Darcy on Graham Norton last night? I thought she had a lovely dress on. Sleep well all.

MawBroon Sat 15-Dec-18 21:39:32

Allowed to stay up (as they are staying with Granny) to watch the Strictly final!
The two boys with their Royal Ballet lessons are very critical tchgrin

Doodle Sat 15-Dec-18 21:44:10

Must be very loved for Hattie to share her sofa with them ?

MawBroon Sat 15-Dec-18 22:06:04

They had popcorn.
That helps tchhmm

Galen Sat 15-Dec-18 22:12:25

Hmm. I’ve a yearning for Yorkshire pudding. Do you think I dare ask for it with my turkey at Xmas?

MawBroon Sat 15-Dec-18 22:19:21

Of course! Test of a good cook!

Charleygirl5 Sat 15-Dec-18 22:27:51

Corner glad to hear that ordeal is now over- I know you were not really looking forward to the experience. I hope you are going to follow instructions and Mr. Corner is looking after you. Hopefully you will be able to relax tonight and have a decent night's sleep. The weather appears to be awful everywhere- I am so pleased I have a lovely warm home with a cat who came home bone dry although it was raining outside. How does she do it and where does the minx go?

Hattie appeared to be happy to share her bed- the two young fellows are adorable.

Great photomaw what fabulous colour hair your grandson has. Weather was dire here in the south east too. Lunch out with some old workmates today it was lovely to have some ordinary conversation and Christmas cheer. Grandchildren coming tomorrow to dress a tree I’ve bought especially for them. Sausage with tomato sauce and as a special treat no vegetables while watching a dvd. Hope you all have a decent nights sleep

cornergran Sat 15-Dec-18 22:43:55

Looks like a good evening for everyone maw, there’s something very special about the young ones chilling out in the evening.

MawBroon Sat 15-Dec-18 23:01:11

Morethan this made me tchgrintchgrintchgrin

And as a special treat no vegetables

callgirl1 Sat 15-Dec-18 23:54:32

Good to hear that the tooth departed without too much trouble Corner. I prefer gas, but it doesn`t seem to be used these days. I tend to jump when I hear the crunch of the tooth coming out, last time the tooth snapped in half, so I had to go back a few days later to have the rest of it removed whilst asleep.
Synonymous, I hope you and your hubby enjoy your break, and that poor Smokie doesn`t fret too much in the cattery.
Maw, the tree looks nice, my daughter and her hubby put mine up this afternoon, it`s new and it flummoxed me.
Went into town today, despite the bitterly cold gale force wind. Only half a market, and that half packed up early.
I posted 3 parcels, one very tiny, sent 2 cards by email, and bought some 2nd class stamps, cost me just over £20!
Your grandchildren are very cute Maw.
I`m sorry, I can`t remember who posted the photo, those trees in the church looked lovely.
A friend has emailed me to say that she went out to buy me a Christmas card today, when she got home and started to write in it, she realised she`d bought a birthday card, so my birthday greetings are coming half a year early!

Lots of trees gone up this weekend! Yes Soop I have the same problem - if you take them off and turn them round, they are still backwards! Our tree went up in a rush on Friday before the DGC arrived. My little man is sound asleep beside me again! ?. We all went to DB and SiL’s golden wedding anniversary today - a happy occasion with old friends and the younger generation.
Sleep well everyone

Galen Sun 16-Dec-18 00:56:56

I think I’m all packed.
So looking forward to seeing Bella
My back is so bad I can only stand for about 3 mins at a time or walk for the same.
Gary has been so helpful in cooking meals for me two days a week. I will now have 12 days of being cooked for and pampered. Pure bliss!
Hope all the Kitcheners have a lovely and peaceful Christmas.

Nannytopsy Sun 16-Dec-18 04:46:12

Have a great time Galen and raise a glass for us !

Baggs Sun 16-Dec-18 07:24:58

Hope you and bellasnana have a great time, galen. I'm sure you will, based purely on previous occasions! ?
Hope the back eases too.

Quickly scanning through posts, glad to see dragonfly's CT scan result was not scary. MrBaggs has to go for one of those after xmas (not for suspected cancer) and I have the joys of a colonoscopy to look forward to (bloody pooh sticks, literally! ?). Not worried at this point; I have my own non-scary suspicions about the cause.

There is a thin layer of white stuff outside. Too dark to see properly but I think it's hail rather than snow.

Happy Sunday to all!

dragonfly46 Sun 16-Dec-18 08:05:42

Morning all. Busy day yesterday spent with friends. Like Morethan a day of normality.

Synonymous I hope you enjoy your time away. It is so true that when you must you find you can al sit in a haze.

Pleased your tooth came out easily corner.

Maw your grandchildren are adorable.

*Galen I hope your back gets better soon, we always have Yorkshire’s on Sundays, you are welcome to come.

Baggs sorry to hear about your tests in New Year. I have a biopsy on Thursday for second suspect area but not seeing consultant until middle of January. Meanwhile I keep taking the tablets.

Kitty hope you get back online soon.

Alygran Sun 16-Dec-18 08:28:35

Hello the kitchen.
Moertan and Dragonfly ordinary is good! When DH was poorly people would say about doing special things. His reply was often that all he wanted was some normal and ordinary.
Galen Yorkshire pudding was our Sunday and Christmas dinner starter in the ‘olden days’. Probably to fill us up so we didn’t want so much meat.
Sending good wishes to all those struggling, keep warm.

cornergran Sun 16-Dec-18 08:34:20

Hope your back eases soon galen, have a wonderful cruise and yes, Yorkshire pudding with Christmas lunch every time. tchsmile.

cornergran Sun 16-Dec-18 09:28:35

Just been reading news on line about power cuts in Pembrokeshire. Hope they haven’t impacted Mr and Mrs panache, no fun when poorly.

Been through he same process for the same reason baggs, my suspicions were proved correct and with luck so will yours. Flipping pooh sticks grin.

Milder day here today, Mr C has pottering plans, I will play the role of supporter by observing and congratulating. Take care everyone.

Panache Sun 16-Dec-18 10:15:50

What absolutely lousy weather!!
Indeed Corner you have it in one!!!
Just as I was eager to hear how the extraction had gone too.

In fact for the first time in our 14 years living here this is the first virtual continuos stormy weather we have had, almost every night after dark and yesterday it again raged throughout the day and my word what a deluge!!!!

The power cut itself did not last long thankfully as we were setting up with torches and candles, back it came with a hurrah!!!
However when we were awakened at 2 30am with the boiler starting up we were far from pleased!!!
Then to add icing to the cake our Rayburn and microwave cum oven had both gone off their settings so it meant facing a bleak cold kitchen this morning!
Could be worse of course but at the moment we need that heat pumping out as it is mighty chilly!!!

Back to you Corner and so pleased you seemed to have had mainly an effortless extraction, so hopefully all will be well healed for the Christmas feast!

Such superb Christmasy pictures, pretty tree and thank you for introducing us to your delightful younger members Maw............ whilst pleased to hear you have Paw`s Apple up and running, showing you have what it takes after all!

Thanks for your kind thoughts about us on the coast Callgirl ...........as you can see we had our share of disruption but live to tell the tale!

Wishing you and your other half well Baggs re the tests you both in the New Year they are needful though truly Bah humbugs!

Hopefully that darn backache will do nothing to halt your enjoyment during your cruise Galen, though what time bad timing.......Bon Voyage again!

Trusting that your well organised weeks away with your beloved family go just to plan Synonymous whilst of course, hopefully much family talking with help get the ordeal awaiting later into some perspective.

No sign of our Ann so please know you are as always in my thoughts.

Seems you too had lashings up there in Kyntire Soop but then it is is just like a brand new world when all the wind dies down, and the rain gives us a break!
It is really a sacrifice we happily take I would say?

We certainly simply hunkered down as there was nothing else we could do!!!
But our Christmas Grotto is now glittering nicely with a tree in the corner, and the candles giving off that Christmasy flavour,as always we have been extra generous with fresh flowering plants (although in this heat I suspect they might not have a long life)
We are in full preparation to greet our own Golden Wedding Anniversary this Friday 21st.
Although it will be mainly my usual ensure drinks I might be cheeky and flavour it with some Bailey`s............you are all welcome to raise your glasses!

Missing a day`s posting means I cannot possibly catch up with each one of you, but you know I wish you all well, continue your merry way into Christmas, hopefully with a good heart and smile......and not too many aches and pains.
Love and Sunday blessings to you all

Doodle Sun 16-Dec-18 11:47:12

morethan hope you have a lovely time with your DGC. I expect they will have great fun decorating their tree.
Galen do hope you and Bella have a great time on the cruise. Hope your back doesn't cause you too much of a problem.
baggs hope all the tests go well. DH is having a colonoscopy soon (not poo sticks - love your description tchgrin)
Oh panache you could do without waking up to a cold house. Hope things have warmed up by now. Many congratulations on your forthcoming golden anniversary. Hope you have a wonderful celebration. I will certainly raise a glass to you both but I might have my Bailey's neat (no ensure chaser either ?).
Went to Church early this morning. It was freezing. Black ice caused an interesting bit of excitement at the entrance.
Hope you all keep safe and warm.

Charleygirl5 Sun 16-Dec-18 12:06:24

corner did you put your tooth under your pillow and did the tooth fairy visit? I hope the pain has settled down now.

Although it was your face which had the treatment yesterday, please do not forget it affects the legs also and they should be elevated gently. Soothing music and frequent drinks also helps.

soop Sun 16-Dec-18 12:42:38

Hey ho...snow on the Paps of Jura. It won't last long. The temperature is rising and the sun is shining. All very picturesque.

corner I'm relieved on your behalf. That particular tooth won't be bothering you from now on.

Baggs Will you be going to Oban for your 'oscopy in January? If so, I shall be returning for the latest check up on the first class prolapse repair. We could meet for a cosy chat wink. Love to you and Mr Baggs.

Maw The boys are gorgeous. Hattie has two good pals. Does she enjoy watching 'Strictly' as much as 'Secret Life of Farm Animals'? I am not a fan of the former. I could, on the other hand, watch the animal programme for evermore and still wish for more.

Galen Bon wotsit to you and our Bella. For goodness sake, keep out of mischief. The crew have installed hidden cameras. No messing with the innocent butler. tchgrin

I've just heard that our new neighbour is to have a triple heart by-pass on Tuesday. Less than two weeks ago, she was having afternoon tea with us. Such a lot has happened in a very short time.

soop Sun 16-Dec-18 13:24:47

We no longer have a Christmas tree. I use a lobster pot in which I position white twigs with tiny white lights. The tree decorations are, on the whole, very ancient. A few belonged to my late Nana. There are far too many photos that I took yesterday. I've selected the following.
