Up at 6.50 with a cup of chai tea, watching bbc news and looking at the weather out the window, dismal and rainy in the SE but has improved as the day goes on.
Love that time of morning h is in bed asleep and I get to sit in peace and quiet

Wow Magicmaggie I am in the Midlands but no snow here luckily in The Black Country!

Greetings from a dreich and windy Aberdeenshire. HAD to go out for more pain killers as there is no improvement to the sciatica, bah. Got rammed up the tail by white van man driving too close and, of course, it was MY fault, according to him. No damage but got a hell of a fright. Anyway, the good news is that I have discovered alcohol free gin, Oh joy! (Can't drink for medical reasons and it beats fizzy water) You get it in one of the big four...the one with orange bags.

Magicmaggie Wed 21-Nov-18 14:57:19

Well, we in the Midlands had heavy snow showers around
mid-morning?
As I live on a hill, I had to cancel my Pilates session, as it
would have been too risky going down into town.
I’m dreading the ice and snowshowers this winter especially after last year, we couldn’t get our car out for three weeks.

Good Morning here in California. How frustrating for you travelsafar. A deep red sky here this morning and rain clouds rolling in. Hurrah! We are forecast rain today, finally, and hoping it will clear the smoke somewhat. Fingers crossed...........

Very cold down on the beach first thing. My sister came over from Anglesey for the morning and I baked her a batch of scones, pronounced scone rhyming with gone!!!

NemosMum Wed 21-Nov-18 12:29:28

Well, it's afternoon before I've got around to read this, so Afternoon everyone! It was a horrible rainy morning in Newcastle upon Tyne, but the sun has come out now. I'm going to make pain au chocolat with grandson (aged 3) this afternoon - one of those pop-up tubes that has a roll of dough in it. I will have to trying stop grandson swallowing all the chocolate before it goes into the dough grin. Have a good day!

Dull and cold here in Stockport.

Am just off to take Mum out for lunch, wish me luck! She is 86 years old, has Altzeimers but still manages to live alone - with help from me and my two siblings. She likes to go to a local pub and it does her good to be out of the house for a few hours.

Two things I need to sort out for her though first. Who is the man who was in her house this morning doing something, she paid him cash but has no idea what his name is or what he does for her! Not the gardener or cleaner as we pay them by direct debit. Then she reckons she has put something on her hair which has made it go ginger so she needs to rinse it off before we go out! I dread to think what she has done!

But she might be making it all up and getting confused with past memories or something she has seen on TV.

Should be a fun lunch! Afterwards I go round to my sisters house to give my nephew tea and take him swimming - my weekly visit as my sister works a late shift on a Wednesday.

Barmeyoldbat Wed 21-Nov-18 12:15:45

Good morning Mick, just for once I am reading this in the morning! Dry and cold are the two words that sum up the outside world. Done everything I need to do in the house, so going out, well wrapped up for walk and maybe a coffee. It will be a better day than yesterday.

Mapleleaf Wed 21-Nov-18 11:16:39

Good morning,
It's wet, grey and cold here at the moment. It's supposed to brighten up a bit this afternoon, but I'm not convinced judging by how it looks at the moment!
Hope your blood test went ok, mick.
Welcome to the newcomers. smile
Those of you feeling under the weather today, keep warm and drink plenty of warming drinks.
Have a good day all, if possible. ?

Morning, all. It's grey and very cold in Nottingham. I'm in the process of sorting out ironing, and putting clothes aside, ready for a weekend in Yorkshire.

I've got some errands to run, too, then I'm meeting my eldest son for lunch and a mooch around the charity shops, and we'll fetch his 2 little girls from school, take them to a play centre, then a pub for tea, then take them back to their mum's.

I hope you all manage to have a decent day.

Nana3 Wed 21-Nov-18 09:10:29

Good morning all. Dull in Lancashire today, very cold and rain yesterday.
I'm making a cake this morning the fruit has been soaking in Guinness overnight.
I hope those with toothache and coughs are better soon. My dd's chest infection has brought on her asthma.
Hello to feelingmyage and teaforone.
Have a good day everyone.

Jinty56 Wed 21-Nov-18 09:09:43

Morning all from blustery Fife! Horrible night last night but no snow so far! I have to drive a distance today so would be happy if it stays clear. Glad also to read I'm not the last to make my Christmas cake! left it a bit late this year but plan on doing it tomorrow. I am very new, just joined today.

EllanVannin Wed 21-Nov-18 09:06:25

Good morning everyone.
It's cold with hefty showers in the wild West of Northumberland. Been the same all night. Rain kept waking me up!
Off to knit & Natter this afternoon as I have promised to crochet together some knitted squares that one of the ladies is making into a blanket.
Have a good day all, welcome teaforone.

Good morning everyone. It’s a lovely sunny day here in Malta. I’m going to the hairdressers in a bit to get my roots done. Not ready to embrace the grey just yet grin

travelsafar, that’s so frustrating for you, I’m sorry you’ve got all geared up for nothing.flowers

Sorry, also, to hear of your dental problems Gaga. Anything to do with dentists is usually not much fun and not cheap either.

Welcome teaforone (love your name), hope you will enjoy Gransnet.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day.sunshine

Alygran Wed 21-Nov-18 08:54:18

Good morning from a damp North Yorkshire.
Late start after a very disturbed night. Off to do a bit of Chr** shopping on the way to meet a friend for lunch in Richmond.

Congratulations Auntieflo on your GGD.
Thinking of Ann today.
Hope the day is kind to everyone.

Greyduster Wed 21-Nov-18 08:50:49

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A dull start in South Yorkshire but dry at least. I had a very restless night and woke up dreaming I had just driven my car into a bog and couldn’t find anyone to pull me out!! We are supposed to be going walking today, but at the moment I don’t feel like getting out of bed! Have a good day folks.

Feelingmyage55 Wed 21-Nov-18 08:42:56

Good morning from a very wet central Scotland. I am earlier than usual because there is no chance of doing anything at all in the garden today. I had planned to split some bedding plants but that might have to wait now until next year. I am going to hibernate and do some Christmas craft. What I am not going to do today is listen to anything to do with Brexit, all the squabbling and disagreeing is irritating me. Off for hot buttered toast. Have a contented day all. Ps welcome teaforone. I am new here too.

travelsafar Wed 21-Nov-18 08:39:34

Not had a good start to the day so far.Up at 5.30am to get ready for hospital admission. Booked in, medical checks completed, gown and flight socks put on along with name tags, settled down with a book waiting to go to theatre when the registrar sticks his head round the curtain to say sorry its been cancelled the surgeon is off sick today!!! I know it's not his fault but so disappointed, as i had geared myself up for spinal nerve block injection and thought i would be pain free, now have to wait for another appointment. Poor Gaga hope your tooth problem is resolved, nothing worse than toothache. Hope alll of you with coughs, colds and sore throats are soon feeling better.

Blue45Sapphire Wed 21-Nov-18 08:33:30

Good morning everyone. Grey and cold here in Northampton, but I have a lovely warm cat sitting on my lap!
Have to stay in again today as still awaiting a package that needs to be signed for. So will be making mince pies. Christmas cake mark 2 made yesterday, now fed with brandy and wrapped up tightly.
My lovely helpful neighbour fixed my sink for me yesterday; needed a new seal around the plughole. So grateful.
Booked myself a river cruise yesterday for my birthday in April - cruising the Danube, two days in Prague first, then Nuremburg via Vienna to Budapest, sounds good and all places I've never been before.
Hope everyone has a good day.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 21-Nov-18 08:31:36

Good morning all ?

Brightening up here in SE Essex rather chilly though.
Last day of builders today ?Then it's coordinating carpet fitters, curtain people and putting our house back to normal. Just in time for the Christmas decorations and tree ??

Hope your toothache is eased Gaga, Sar I feel your pain, my throats is so sore, my head is like cotton wool, fervently hoping that it doesn't go to my chest and upset my asthma.

Wishing you all a peaceful Wednesday ?

NannyJan53 Wed 21-Nov-18 08:27:42

Good Morning from a very grey and cold Black Country

Welcome to teaforone

Driving to Stoneleigh Abby today, for an afternoon tea for two. It was a voucher I received in September for my birthday, so thought I had better use it as it expires on Friday! Taking Mum, but not relishing the drive on the M42 andM40!

Just popped to Sainsburys for petrol, and noticed they have 25% off on all TU clothing. So I had to look didn't I? Pair of trousers and a jumper, £8 saving smile

Have a good day everyone.
