Morning everyone.

I haven't opened the curtains yet, and it's stll only half light but it's mild for November in Kent.
We have roses and dahlias still producing buds and the geraniums are still looking good.
DH off to the plot soon and I wont get much done as DD coming and I will be too busy gossiping.
Have a good day

It rained during the first part of the service of remembrance in the park near church, which seemed very apt. Once the last post had been played and we were back in church for the remainder of the service, the sun shone. poppy.

labazs1964 Thank you for your kind words. But I must stress that none of us are in any danger. San Francisco is still 175 miles away from where the actual fire is. The smoke however is very bad, and we are staying indoors as much as possible until it clears more.

labazs1964 Sun 11-Nov-18 16:34:37

that is awful glad you are far away from it prayers for ds and family

Arto1s Sun 11-Nov-18 16:17:21

labazs1964 Fortunately we are over 200 miles away from the fire, but that is how far the smoke has travelled. My DS and his family live in San Francisco and he says it is really bad there.

goodness Artols stay safe must be terrifying

The air is still thick with smoke here, although not as bad as it was. The entire town of Paradise is burned to the ground. We know quite a few of the people who have lost their homes. So not such a good morning here in California.

Having a lovely family weekend and have been writing wedding invitations out this am: for son number 2 and his beautiful lady. We were going for a walk in the woods, but rain stopped play ! So we are being practical instead.

Hi everyone from Sunny South Surrey. ? Pale blue sky here with a few puffy white clouds.
Not seen this forum since joining, until earlier in week when someone wrote about 'Mick' being off/away.
Is it the 'cafe' or...?
Anyway, it was ? tossing down here throughout the night and when the piper was playing 'When The Battle's O'er' about 6am he must have been soaked to the skin. The road was awash across the width.
Did some food shopping before local memorial service which was really well attended and joined some friends for coffee n cake. Might go for a bike ride shortly then back for dinner (in oven on low)
I see Danny JJ was ousted. No surprise there.
Have a good day y'all. grin

A very belated good morning. Went to the Remembrance Service locally and instead of coming home we stayed on for the ringing of the bells at 12.30, one hundred peals for the one hundred years since the Armistice. It was poignant but there were lots of young families there with children who, without exception behaved beautifully and respectfully. Enjoy the afternoon.

Good morning all. It’s pouring down in our bit of Lancashire-I really hoped it would be fine for the service where my DGC would be, but no.
DH has been ill all weekend so we stayed at home and watched on TV.
It’s not good here at the moment, with two funerals in the next 10 days. On a brighter note, one sister has discovered FaceTime, so our last long distance call was more fun.

labazs1964 Sun 11-Nov-18 11:28:46

Granny1sland Sun 11-Nov-18 11:19:22

Horrible morning here in our part of Scotland. It’s fair stoatin’! (Tr - very heavy rain). DH, shepherd and neighbour are out on quad bikes on the hill gathering our 750 sheep in to be given their bi monthly worming medication. Oh, and a government inspector is coming to count them tomorrow, so hope they don’t escape. Pleased I’m retired from helping, but 74 year old DH seems content!

A very late good morning from me . I feel like I’ve done a days work already x

Lynne59 Sun 11-Nov-18 09:58:17

Morning all, I didn't get up until 9! (Home at 12.30 last night, then up at 5am with the cat)

It's grey and dull, so we're going for lunch and to an indoor play centre with the family later, then tea at ours

annsixty Sun 11-Nov-18 09:38:34

Good morning all.
Auntieflo it is a kitchenaid mixer, not a kenwood.
I have wanted one for years but they were too expensive, now Currys have them half price so I have succumbed.
Very dull here and chillier, GD coming for roast chicken dinner which includes that heart attack on a plate, creamed leeks.
I only make them twice a year so that's ok.

NannyJan53 Sun 11-Nov-18 09:17:35

Good Morning everyone.

Bright and sunny here now, but obviously rained heavily during the night.

We watched a recording we had made of the film 'Testament of Youth last night'. Based on the memoirs of Vera Brittain in the First World War, if this doesn't convince certain leaders of the world how pointless war is, nothing will. She lost her fianceé, brother and 2 close male friends.

I hope the weather is kind for all the Rembrance Day Services today.

Auntieflo Sun 11-Nov-18 09:14:28

Good morning Nina, Annie and all. Rain has stopped, sun is out, and the tree colours look amazing.
We are off to Church shortly, DH is doing the AV, so hope no gremlins have got into the thing. He does worry.
Since reading a post from Annsixty, I have been wrestling with myself about buying a Kenwood Artisan Mixer. Shall I, shan’t I?
DD and SIL are on their way back from a weekend away, I wonder if they will pop in?
Have a good day one and all.

Mapleleaf Sun 11-Nov-18 09:01:54

Good morning.
Very grey, damp and dull here this morning, as greyduster says.
Going to the remembrance service held in church and in the park near the church today, otherwise not too much planned.
Take care, everyone.

Greyduster Sun 11-Nov-18 08:53:25

Good morning, Nina and all GNs. A late one for me today - I had a bad night following a sad day. It is dull and damp in South Yorkshire today, but GS is playing football this afternoon so we will go and watch him - if madam Satnav can find the ground! Have a happy day folks.

Anniebach Sun 11-Nov-18 08:46:35

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Raining in Mid Wales, again

Hope everyone has a good day x
