lemongrove Thank you.
blush You're too too kind my dear.
I fear I was a little too heavy-handed with the make-up this morning but I wanted to impress and eager to get on my broomstick. winkgrinthlgrin

Aw is that the ending I'm sure we could go on longer.....
After tea Susi got out her knitting, tucking it carefully into the folds of her cardigan, hoping her visitor wouldn't notice the dark splashes of blood.
"I hope you don't mind me asking," she said, "but would you tell me the name of your dentist, please, your teeth are so white".

Re your message sarahellenwhitney here where I live we put out a pumpkin ( real or plastic) or other Halloween decorations if we are happy to have Trick or Treaters call. No one calls at a house that doesn't have these on show so no problem for elderly or vulnerable. I have no answer to the problem with fireworks going off at all times over the October / November period other than they shouldn't be sold to anyone other than organisers of proper licensed displays.

sarahellenwhitney Wed 31-Oct-18 11:22:27

Halloween and Guy Fawkes should be banned. What does it signify ?Just an opportunity to scare the vulnerable by knocking on their doors with your painted faces suggesting a trick or treat and the fifth of November frequently causing injuries from fireworks and the distress to defenceless animals by the bangs that go off from the moment it becomes dark.

Clear off now & make it quick
Leave the sweets or you'll be sick.
I'm fed up now, I need some quiet
(all these sweets don't help my diet)
now I've become a moaning hag
Your noise and shouting make me nag,
So go away & leave me be
In peace and quiet to have my tea.

No carbs or sugar for me thanks but I can help you hang your decorations. I see you have some very realistic hanging chains.

Skweek1 Wed 31-Oct-18 09:28:14

Can I tempt you to a glass of my favourite Halloween Punch and a spooky cupcake - just finished putting the icing on for trick or treaters?

callgirl1 Wed 31-Oct-18 00:20:46

Scabby scabby custard,
Green snot pie,
All mixed up with a dead dog`s eye,
Slap it on a butty, nice and thick,
And wash it all down with a cup of cold sick.

(Apologies, my hubby`s favourite yucky verse!)

Cherrytree59 Tue 30-Oct-18 20:49:59

But I am partial to bowl of toadstool and green custard before I visit uncle Fester.
The little spooks are are quite excited thinking what mischief to cause on their first Hallowe'enthlgrin

BBbevan Tue 30-Oct-18 18:23:40

That doesn't look very appetising", said Susie. " Anyway I'm vegetarian"

callgirl1 Tue 30-Oct-18 17:43:36

Eye of dog and wing of bat

"Dinner has just arrived" said the Dracula-clad figure!

creativz Tue 30-Oct-18 12:40:50

“Where’s my dinner ?!” Said a small black cat sat in the window, he was dribbling eyeing the crows flapping and squawking in the creaky old oak tree. thlenvy

Witzend Tue 30-Oct-18 12:34:58

'Oh, dear, have you got a sore throat?' asked Susie, who'd arranged this date online - she hadn't wanted to go alone to the Halloween party. 'I must say, that's a jolly good Dracula outfit! Much more authentic than the usual cheap old thing!'

Nannyali Tue 30-Oct-18 12:27:15

He said in raspy voice .

Bobdoesit Tue 30-Oct-18 12:26:24

They hid in doorways while the rain lashed the streets and gas lights flickered in the howling wind.

Nannyali Tue 30-Oct-18 12:25:56

I have been waiting a long time for you to come .

ninathenana Tue 30-Oct-18 12:16:01

In the door way stood a small hunched figure silhouetted by the small gas light on the wall behind

Twopence Tue 30-Oct-18 12:02:37

The figure raised it's hand towards the knocker but as it did so the door opened with an ominous creak.
