Anyone ready to start knitting royal baby jackets?

Anniebach Fri 26-Oct-18 15:44:09

Only once I can recall buying something because of someone in the public eye, gulp, I bought a suit so like those worn by Jackie Kennedy and had my hair done like hers , she was so elegant

annsixty Fri 26-Oct-18 15:46:36

There is a photograph published today of the couple at a reception, Meghan looks lovely, andshe is in coversation with a guest.
Harry is not holding her hand, but touching it in a way that we used to refer to as " they can't keep their hands off each other".
That is what their PDA brings to mind for me.

Fennel, it must have been very difficult for him ?, many think this tradition of walking a step behind is because of the person but it isn’t, it’s the crown. Makes no difference to Harry and Megan because they are junior royals , five before him , there was a time Beatrice was 5th , four before her.

Anniebach Fri 26-Oct-18 15:52:49

annsixty what is PDA?

Jalima1108 Fri 26-Oct-18 16:04:01

I've just looked up PDA - apparently
Public Display of Affection

Anniebach Fri 26-Oct-18 16:15:54

Thanks Jalima. For me ‘can’t keep his hands off her ‘ is not for public appearances , they have been together two years , a cold shower perhaps ?

Baggs Fri 26-Oct-18 17:57:00

I read today's comments on this thread an hour or two ago. I've had a look at news media photos of Harry and Meghan and think they look charming.

This mention of PDA and can't keep hands off each other smacks of more criticism for criticism's sake? Some of you seem to be looking for details to jump on and gripe about. How sad.

annsixty Fri 26-Oct-18 18:29:46

Some of you If you mean me Baggs just say so, don't beat about the bush . They were my remarks.

Anniebach Fri 26-Oct-18 18:43:36

annsixty, didn’t say ‘ they couldn’t keep their hands off each other’ .

Anniebach Fri 26-Oct-18 18:45:26

baggs, do you suggest watching the news with eyes closed?
Your post was uncalled for , any critcism came from you

Page 17 and it rumbles on and on......

Baggs Sat 27-Oct-18 07:05:28

I don't watch the news, annie. No telly. So I wasn't thinking of TV pictures at all. There are plenty of pics online. Some will be the same ones that are shown on the telly.

What I said remains true: in the pictures I saw Meghan and Harry looked charming. I think I probably was concentrating on their faces and how they appeared to be behaving, rather than their clothes, as being more revealing of their personalities.

Hello, billybob.

Baggs Sat 27-Oct-18 07:07:16

My criticism is of what I see as uncalled for criticism.

Iam64 Sat 27-Oct-18 08:22:20

Rufus2 Sat 27-Oct-18 08:36:51

Grans would always say "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all"
Grannygravy: Mine too! My Mam was also fond of saying, to me, "You should know better at your age!" sad
"Age" was a constantly changing variable!
Not sure if that doesn't apply here. grin

Anniebach Sat 27-Oct-18 08:43:46

Seems posters on this thread are divided into Saints and Sinners Oh to be perfect , or should that be smug.

Billybob4491 Sat 27-Oct-18 13:54:21
