Thank you for the welcoming comments. Actually, I'm mostly of British ancestry, back to great grandparents who emigrated to the United States, but I was born and raised in Canada. My parents came to Canada from the US in a covered wagon somewhere around 1930-35. One of my older sisters was actually born on the trip in the covered wagon. I am number 9 of 10 children. Huge family!!

Welcome ! I'm a fairly recent new member myself, and am hooked ! It's always good to read of other people's experiences and to ( try to) help with some of their problems.

PS I'm half Canadian myself - my Mum came from Halifax to marry my Dad during WW2.

Hello all! I have just joined Gransnet today. I found the site when I was searching for advice and decided to try it out. I am a 74 year old self-employed grandmother (hence the odd username). I have two wonderful sons, each of whom has two daughters, ranging in age from 7 to 19. I'm not busy with my bookkeeping every day and do not like being idle, so I was hoping to make contact with others who may have similar interests. Looking forward to chatting with some of you.
